RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT.

 

On a request from Trainer D.J.Surti, permission was granted to Trainer Vijay Kasbekar to saddle his charges GHAYANA (5th race) and LAS SALINAS (10th race – subsequently this race cancelled), at his (Trainer D.J.Surti’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(189) – THE JIMMY UMRIGAR TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the start, ANCIENT GLORY (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr. 7) shifted in and made contact with JIBUTI (S. Zervan, dr. 6).

 

Jockey J. Chinoy (CHARGING TIGRESS) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for raising his hand as a victory sign before passing the winning post.

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (MAJESTIC) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Tr.M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of SANS PEUR and a report will be submitted shortly

 

After the race, BULLDOZER, SANS PEUR and MAJESTIC (examined on 12/10/2015) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(190) – THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER’S TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

MOUNTAIN SONG (App.N.Nadeem) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Passing 1100 metres VIA AMORIS (C. S. Jodha, dr.1) shifted out on to ASHRAFIE (Dashrath Singh, dr. 2), who in turn went on to ORIENTAL ROCKY (N.S.Parmar, dr.3) who further went on to BORN TO WIN (T. S. Jodha, dr. 6). Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

After the race, ZEDA was found to be sore by the left fore leg. Also, the filly had an abrasion at the left hind thigh region. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MOUNTAIN SONG and SANSANI were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(191) – THE  SIR SULTAN CHINOY TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 18 Runners

 

In the process of stalling, GRACE AND MERCY (T.S.Jodha) went into the peripheral hedges next to the track. The gelding was examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

CANNONBALL RUN (P.Trevor dr. 3) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with PLAN B (App. H. Zeeshan, dr. 4), who in turn went on to ZAHRAZAN (App. S. J. Sunil, dr. 5).causing the latter to stumble.

 

Soon after the start, WIND AND STARS (App. N. Nadeem, dr. 15) cut across the field and bumped ZADORA (App.Jaykumar, dr.12) and thereafter, WIND AND STARS continued to shift in. App N.Nadeem has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

Passing 600 metres, WIND AND STARS (App.N. Nadeem) shifted in under urgings and went on to CANNONBALL RUN (P.Trevor). App N. Nadeem has been suspended w.e.f. 19th November, 2015 to 22nd November, 2015 (both days inclusive) for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

Passing 200 metres, SONG OF AFRICA (App.D.S.Daman) shifted in on to ZAHRAZAN (App.S.J.Sunil). App.D.S.Daman has been cautioned.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of ICE GATE and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, RIDER ON THE STORM was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, GRACE AND MERCY and MY FREEDOM were found to be sound.

 

 

RACE NO.4(192) – THE VIVANTA BY TAJ – BLUE DIAMOND TROPHY: (About) 2400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

After the start, THE WAY I AM (App.Yash Narredu, dr. 3) shifted in on to ARGYLE PINK (N. S. Parmar, dr. 2), who in turn went on to KAYLA (P. S. Chouhan, dr.1).

 

Approaching 300 metres, BIRKENHEAD (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in on to SAVAGE GARDEN (J. Chinoy), who in turn went on to THE WAY I AM (App.Yash Narredu). On questioning, Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that his mount was hanging in despite his effort and had shifted in. Trainer Vinesh has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (BIRKENHEAD) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit. However, since the same was used as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated.

 

RACE NO.5(193) – THE ANIMAL WELFARE BOARD OF INDIA CUP: (About) 1000 Metres – 21 Runners

 

SECRET FLAME (App.D.M.Ayyar) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for bringing his charge SUNSHINE HEART in the paddock without a Tongue Strap. The Tongue Strap was put on  the horse before leaving the paddock.

 

Soon after the start, FLYING TRIGGER (J.E.Pereira, dr.2) shifted out and TAREEF (App.K.Nazil, dr.4) shifted in inconveniencing LIGHT OF ARABIA (App.Parbat Singh, dr. 3).

 

Approaching 900 metres, GYAHANA (Neeraj Rawal) shifted inwards and tightened LIGHT OF ARABIA (App. Parbat Singh), who in turn went on to  FLYING TRIGGER (J. E. Pereira) causing him to drop back on to CUT DIAMOND (T.S. Jodha). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

Passing 800 metres, ANTARTIC (App.Jaykumar) shifted in on to PEZZONOVANTE (App.N.Nadeem). App.Jaykumar has been cautioned.

 

Passing 800 metres, TRUE HEIR (App.N.B.Kuldeep) shifted in thereby tightening ACER BILK (S.G.Prasad), CORABELLA (App.R.Ajinkya) and LIGHT OF ARABIA (App.Parbat Singh). App. N.B.Kuldeep has been cautioned.

 

Jockey N. S. Parmar (SUNSHINE HEART) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for dropping his hands before passing the winning post thereby losing fourth place.

 

Trainer Faisal A.Abbas was questioned  regarding the comparative performance of his charge BLACKBEEN (Winner) wherein the filly has shown marked improvement in her performance within a short span of time as compared to her previous run on 3rd October 2015 in Race No.178 where she had placed sixth. Not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, he was fined a sum of Rs.10,000/- in accordance with the calendar notification under the heading (PENALTY FOR IMPROVED PERFORMANCE WITHIN A SHORT SPAN OF TIME)

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the Running and Riding of PEZZONOVANTE and a report will be submitted shortly

 

The Club’s V.O. reported that LIGHT OF ARABIA stopped galloping after passing the winning post. On examination, the filly was found to be sore by the right fore leg. First Aid treatment was given and the filly was sent to the Equine Hospital in the Horse Ambulance for further management. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Club’s V.O. reported that after passing the winning post, ANTARTIC stopped galloping at the 2100 metres. On examination, the filly was found to be sore by the right fore leg. First Aid treatment was given and the filly was sent to the Equine Hospital in the Horse Ambulance for further management. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, POLAR ZONE was observed to have a cut injury at the left shoulder.

 

RACE NO.6(194) – THE JIMMY UMRIGAR TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

After the start, BAKER STREET (D.K.Ashish, dr.5) shifted in on to SQUASH (App.N.B.Kuldeep, dr. 4), who in turn went on to AME (C. S. Jodha, dr. 3) forcing the latter to drop back.

 

Passing 250 metres, SOU’WESTER (P.Trevor) shifted in on to GEIRANGERFJORD (Neeraj Rawal), who in turn went on to SQUASH (App. N. B. Kuldeep).

 

The Club’s V.O. reported that STARRY IMAGE stopped on the track whilst returning from the race. The filly was observed to be in distress/shock and was treated accordingly and thereafter sent to the Equine Hospital for further management.

 

RACE NO.7(195) – THE  NOSHIR & DOLLY DHUNJIBHOY SPRINT MILLION (GR.3):

Trainer Neil Darashah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for not registering the racing colours of his charge SUN DIVINE on time.

 

Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been fined Rs.1,000/- for taking her charge BRYNHILL out from the paddock before the All Clear was given.

 

Jockey P.S.Chouhan (BRYNHILL) that his mount hung-in in the straight. Tr.Nazak Chenoy  has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, NEFYN was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ROSIE SUNSHINE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BRYNHILL was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the left hind fetlock. ONE KEPT SECRET had a cut injury at the left hock and DANCING PHOENIX had lost its left fore plate.

 

RACE NO.8(196) – THE NANOLI STUD PUNE DERBY (GR.1): (About) 2000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

In the last 100 metres, CONTINENTAL (Suraj Narredu) stumbled and fell, dislodging the rider.

 

Jockey P.Kamlesh (BULLRUN) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for raising his hand as a victory sign before passing the winning post.

 

Jockey P.Kamlesh (BULLRUN) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (CONTINENTAL) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

At the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, a Stewards’ Enquiry was held in this race. The reason being, CONTINENTAL (Suraj Narredu) had a fall in the final furlong and the winner, BULLRUN (P.Kamlesh) who had shifted out, may have been involved.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to maintain the Order of Placing as declared by the Judge. 

 

The Club’s V.O. reported that CONTINENTAL stumbled and fell at about 100 metres from the winning post. On examination, the gelding was observed to have sustained fracture of the left fore fetlock (complete rupture of the fetlock joint). After obtaining consent of the trainer, the gelding was euthanized on humane grounds.

 

The Club’s V.O. reported that on arrival at the Sampling Yard after the race, BULLRUN was observed to be in severe distress/shock. The gelding was given cold water bath and First Aid treatment. Later, after recovery, the horse was sampled and then sent to the stable.

 

MAGNIFICENCE (P.S.Chouhan) was placed fifth and MULTIGLORY (C.S.Jodha) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

RACE NO.9(197) – THE PUNE POLICE COMMISSIONER’S TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

At the start, BEACH GAME (A.J.Nilesh, dr.2) shifted in on to BARRINGO (Amyn Merchant dr.1).

 

After the race, BARRINGO and ALECTO were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

 

The Club’s V.O. reported that ICE SKATES and INVINCIBLE were examined at the stable in the morning on 12/10/2015 and were found to be sound.

A Stewards meeting was held after the 9th race. Since the Jockeys were apprehensive to ride owing to the underfoot conditions, the Stewards decided to cancel the last race (Race No.198 The Sir Sultan Chinoy Trophy (Div.II) (1000 metres).
