RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED  5 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 7 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 11 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1100 METRES AND 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

 

RACE NO.1(45) – THE SNOW DEW PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 8 

 

Trainer D.J.Surti has been fined Rs.1,000/- for presenting himself late in the paddock to give instructions to his Jockey.

 

At the start AMAZON CAT (Shrikant Kamble, dr.1) shifted out on to MASTERSTRIKE (Dashrath Singh, dr.2).

 

Soon after the start, TRUE HEIR (P.Trevor, dr.5) shifted in on to GOLDEN GLORY (R.Shelar, dr.4), who in turn went on to EARTH QUAKE (N.S.Parmar, dr.3), as a result MASTERSTRIKE (Dashrath Singh, dr.2) was tightened for room and dropped back, Jockey P.Trevor has been cautioned.

 

Passing 600 metres, AMAZON CAT (Shrikant Kamble) shifted out on to GOLDEN GLORY (R.Shelar). On questioning, Jockey Shrikant Kamble stated that his mount was hanging out. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Passing 350 metres, SMOOTHTALKINRASCAL (App.Bhawani Singh) who was racing between AMAZON CAT (Shrikant Kamble) and GOLDEN GLORY (R.Shelar), was tightened for room and dropped back.

 

Passing 300 metres, TAREEF (H.G.Rathod) shifted in under the use of the whip on to EARTH QUAKE (N.S.Parmar). Jockey H.G.Rathod has been fined Rs.2,000/-

 

After the race, MASTERSTRIKE, SMOOTHTALKINRASCAL, TAREEF, GOLDEN GLORY and AMAZON CAT were found to be sound. MASTERSTRIKE had a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.2(46) – THE SNOW DEW PLATE (DIV.I) : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

 

GOOD MEMORY (S.Mosin) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, RACHEL (App.D.R.Shubham, dr.3) shifted in on to DELTIN (App.Jaykumar, dr.2).

 

At the start, AZALEA (R.Vaibhav, dr.7) shifted in and then immediately shifted out on to GOOD MEMORY (S.Mosin, dr.8). Jockey R. Vaibhav has been cautioned.

 

Passing 800 metres, POLAR ZONE (App.S.J.Sunil) shifted in onto CUT DIAMOND (Shrikant Kamble) and thereafter further shifted in on to ROYAL SAPPHIRE (Dashrath Singh) forcing the latter to check and drop back . App S.J.Sunil has been fined Rs.1,000/-

 

Jockey Shrikant Kamble (CUT DIAMOND) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey S.Mosin, rider of  GOOD MEMORY (Placed Fourth) against CUT DIAMOND (Shrikant Kamble, Placed First). The reason being, coming into the straight CUT DIAMOND shifted out on to him, causing him to check his mount, which cost him the race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection and take action against Jockey Shrikant Kamble for careless riding. The matter has been deferred to the next meeting of the Stewards.

 

After the race, ROYAL SAPPHIRE was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon.

 

RACE NO.3(47)  – THE MYSTICAL TROPHY : (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 5

 

Passing 300 metres AL SHAMSHEER (Dashrath Singh) weakened and dropped back, as a result LAURITA (A.Sandesh) had to be steadied.

 

THE UNICORN (N S.Parmar) was observed to have hung out in the straight. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, CAESARS STAR and LAURITA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(48) – THE VALLABHDAS H. ADWALIA TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  7

 

JAGER BOMB (D.K.Ashish) was very reluctant to reach the starting point thus delaying the start. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to school his charge to reach the starting point before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

At the start, HOT PEPPER (T.S.Jodha, dr.1) shifted out and at the same time SIMONA (Dashrath Singh, dr.4) shifted in,  as a result MIRACLE OF LOVE (P.Trevor, dr.2) and MAJESTIC (Suraj Narredu, dr.3) were tightened and dropped back.

 

After passing 300 metres, MAJESTIC (Suraj Narredu) was observed to have shifted out and then shifted in. On questioning, Jockey Suraj Narredu stated that his horse was hanging in and despite his effort to keep the filly straight, she had shifted in. Trainer M.Narredu has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.   

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (MAJESTIC) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. However since the filly was hanging in and the whip was used as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated against the Jockey. 

 

After the race, TOP BRACKET and MAJESTIC were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(49) – THE VENUS DE MILO PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 12

 

App.N.Nadeem (PEZZONOVANTE) reported that his mount took a fly jump.

 

Approaching 600 metres, PASSION PRINCE (J.Chinoy) shifted in on to ICE GATE (A.Sandesh) who had to be checked. On questioning, Jockey J.Chinoy stated that his mount suddenly ducked in, not giving him any time to react. The explanation was noted.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of MY FREEDOM and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, PASSION PRINCE and SEVEN SEAS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(50) – THE DESERT LIGHTNING PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 6

 

Passing 400 metres, DAISHONIN (Neeraj Rawal), in an effort to change course, shifted out on to JIGSAW (App.Yash Narredu). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

After the race App. Yash Narredu reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer M. Narredu has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, JIGSAW and DAISHONIN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(51)– THE SECRET STAR PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  13

 

On the way to the start, ABIGAIL (P.S.Chouhan) bolted for about 2 to 3 furlongs. On reaching the start, the filly was examined by the Club’s V.O, who certified her fit to race.

 

At the start, SPEAR OF TRIUM (App.Bhawani Singh, dr.4) lost its stride and shifted out on to NIOBRARA (C.S.Jodha, dr.5), who in turn went across HEART OF THE CITY (App.D.R.Shubham), who was slowly off.

 

At the start, VALENTINO (A.Sandesh, dr. 7) and BORN TO WIN (T.S.Jodha, dr.8) were observed to have shifted out and shifted in respectively and made contact.

 

At the start, VISION OF ROMANCE (Amyn Merchant, dr.10) shifted in on to JOLEENE (D.K.Ashish, dr.9).

 

Approaching 800 metres, TINOGONA (Satish Nayak) who was racing between VISION OF ROMANCE (Amyn Merchant) and BRAVE VISION (App.S.Joseph), was tightened for room and dropped back.

 

Approaching 200 metres, FINAL ENCOUNTER (Dashrath Singh) shifted out and went on to BORN TO WIN (T.S.Jodha). Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

 

FINAL ENCOUNTER (Dashrath Singh dr. 1) was observed to have brushed the right side of its Starting Stall while the start was affected thus jumping out marginally slow. However on questioning Jockey Dashrath Singh after the race, he stated that in his opinion his mount shied away from PALACE GIRL (App. Shahrukh Khan dr. 2) due to their close proximity and thereafter took time to raise an effective gallop.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of HEART OF THE CITY and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, NIOBRARA was observed to have lost its right fore plate. VISION OF ROMANCE was examined at the stables on 11/12/2015 and found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. TRUE HEIR (1st race), CUT DIAMOND (2nd race), THE UNICORN (3rd race), TOP BRACKET (4th race), EL WONDER (5th race), HEATHER (6th race) and NIOBRARA (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: APPEAL FROM TRAINER DALLAS TODYWALLA IN RESPECT OF THE FINE OF RS.20,000/- IMPOSED ON HIM BY THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB FOR UNSATISFACTORY RUNNING OF HIS CHARGE  “VICTORIA HARBOUR” IN RACE NO 5 – THE SIR CHARLES FORBES TROPHY – RUN ON THURSDAY, 19TH NOVEMBER 2015 AT THE MUMBAI RACECOURSE:

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 8th December 2015 considered Appeal from Trainer Dallas Todywalla in respect of the captioned subject matter. 

 

The Board of Appeal having studied all documents and papers that were submitted and having heard the submissions made by Tr.Dallas Todywalla and having viewed the races of VICTORIA HARBOUR, deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case, decided to reject his Appeal. Accordingly the decision of the Stewards of the Club stands. His Deposit for the Appeal was forfeited.

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 8th December 2015 considered Appeal from Jockey Colm O’Donoghue in respect of the captioned subject matter. 

 

The Board of Appeal having studied all documents and papers that were submitted and having heard the submissions made by Jockey Colm O’Donoghue, and having viewed the races of VICTORIA HARBOUR, deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case, decided to reject his Appeal. Accordingly the decision of the Stewards of the Club stands. His Deposit for the Appeal was forfeited.

SHUKLA – ASHWAMITRA TROPHY,  RUN ON THURSDAY, 19TH NOVEMBER 2015 AT THE MUMBAI RACECOURSE:

 

The  Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 8th December 2015 considered Appeal from Jockey Colm O’Donoghue in respect of the captioned subject matter. 

 

The Board of Appeal having studied all documents and papers that were submitted and having heard the submissions made by Jockey Colm O’Donoghue, and having viewed the races of ENTHRALLING, deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case, decided to modify the charge from “Unsatisfactory Riding” to “Failing to Persevere with his mount in the straight” and maintained the period of suspension of his License from 10th December 2015 to 20th December 2015.

 

In view of his request to defer the commencement of suspension of his Jockey’s License, the Board decided that his Jockey’s License will now stand suspended w.e.f. 26th December 2015 to 3rd January 2016 (both days inclusive).  His Deposit for the Appeal was forfeited.
