Tr.Joshi added that he had raced the mare in Blinkers this time as it was suggested by Jockey Dashrath Singh who rode her in the previous race. To another question, the Trainer stated that the mare is ordinary. RE : COMPLAINT FROM THE OWNERS MR. & MRS.SAYEED ARKATI AGAINST TRAINER SURESH CHAVAN :
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 10th September, 2011 considered the evidence obtained by the Stipendiary Stewards in the above enquiry. The Stewards considered all papers and proceedings before them and heard all submissions made by Trainer Suresh Chavan where he accepted that he had involved outside people in the matter. The Police Report also showed that Trainer Suresh Chavan accepted the same. The Stewards also heard the submissions made by Mr.& Mrs.Sayeed Arkati and Mr.Huzzaifa Jabalpurwala. Trainer Suresh Chavan was also given the opportunity to cross examine Mr. & Mrs.Sayeed Arkati. The Stewards having deliberated the matter at length, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer Suresh Chavan in the subject matter and considered that his action of involving third party undesirable elements in settling his dispute with his Owners, amounted to gross misconduct on his part under Rule 114 (b) (ii) of the Rules of Racing of this Club. Therefore, the Stewards decided to :
i) to withdraw Mr.Suresh Chavan’s Trainer’s license and not to grant him the same for a period of a period of two years;
ii) To further impose on him a suspended sentence of two years i.e. after serving his above punishment, if he again apply for a Trainer’s license and the same is granted to him and thereafter if he was again found guilty of a similar offence of misconduct within the next five years, this suspended sentence of two years would immediately come into force in addition to whatever further action the Stewards may take against him at that time.
Trainer Suresh Chavan was informed that as per the Rules of Racing, punishment for misconduct has to start with immediate effect. However, the Stewards would like to give him some time to make his arrangement for the transfer of his horses. Therefore, in consultation with him, it was decided that his Trainer’s license shall stand withdrawn w.e.f. 14th September, 2011 till the end of the Mumbai Meeting 2011/12. Thereafter, he shall not be granted a Trainer’s license, should he apply for one, up to and inclusive of 13th September, 2013.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT OF JOCKEY DASHRATH SINGH ON “VELOCITA” LOSING HIS RIGHT IRON STIRRUP ON JUMP OUT - IN RACE NO.108 (EXTRA RACE) – THE RADIO ONE TROPHY RUN ON 4TH SEPTEMBER, 2011 :
The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Jockey Dashrath Singh in the above connection. Jockey Dashrath Singh explained that his horse was leaning towards the left in the stall and when the gates opened, his mount jumped out awkwardly towards the inside, resulting in his right foot scraping thegate. Due to this, his right foot slipped out of the iron stirrup and the iron stirrup swung on to the saddle and therefore it took time for him to put his foot back into the stirrup iron.
On close scrutiny of the video recording, it was observed that VELOCITA had jumped out towards the inside and scraped the front gate. As such, the explanation tendered by Jockey Dashrath Singh was noted.
