RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 1800 METRES TO 1600 METRES, 3 METRES WIDE AT 1400 METRES, 4 METRES WIDE AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES WIDE AT 1000 METRES, 6 METRES WIDE AT 800 METRES, 7 METRES WIDE AT 600 METRES, 8 METRES WIDE AT 400 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES WIDE UP TO WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer James E. Mckeown, permission was granted to Trainer Subhag Singh to saddle his charges KING LOUIS & CAPE WIKHAM in the 2nd race and SLAINTE in the 3rd race, at his own (Trainer James E. Mckeown’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (25) – THE JOCKEYS ASSOCIATION OF INDIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  10

 

Trainer Subhag Singh has been fined Rs.3,000/- each for putting in late declaration in respect of his charges BATTISTA & COMANECI.

 

MARIELLA (P. Vinod, dr.1) threw its head up at the start.

 

TANHAIYAAN (K. Pranil, dr.10) took a fly jump at the start.

 

At the start, RED DUST (Amyn Merchant, dr.8) jumped outwards onto RUBIK STAR (Bhawani Singh, dr.9) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Passing the 1000 metres, BATTISTA (S. G. Prasad) shifted in and went across PRECIOSO (Vishal N. Bunde) resulting in the latter to clip the heels of the former and stumble. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey S. G. Prasad has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Vinod (MARIELLA) reported loss of whip passing the 200 metres. This being his first instance during the current Pune Meeting 2024, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, BATTISTA was observed to have lost its right hind shoe and have an injury on right hind tendon and fetlock.

 

After the race, RUBIK STAR was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on right fore bulb of heel.

 

After the race, COMANECI was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.

 

After the race, RED DUST was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on both hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.2 (26) –  THE RAJARAM CHHATRAPATI TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

At the start, Jockey C. Umesh (SEA THE SUN, dr. 6) lost his balance momentarily.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (VINCENT VAN GOGH) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey C. Umesh (SEA THE SUN) reported that his mount was uneasy and awkward throughout the race. As such, the colt was trotted and found to be sound. Further, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, endoscopy was performed on the colt at the Equine Hospital and was found to have EIPH (Gr.III) and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, FLAMING LAMBORGINI was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. The rig has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, VINCENT VAN GOGH was trotted and found to be sound. Further, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, endoscopy was performed on the gelding at the Equine Hospital and no abnormality was detected.

 

RACE NO.3 (27) – THE DANCING PRANCES TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  5

 

After the race, THE PROTECTOR was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that SNOWFALL had left eye injury with ulcer (sore).

 

RACE NO.4 (28) – THE WESTERN INDIA TRAINERS' ASSOCIATION TROPHY  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES –RUNNERS- 10

 

Trainer Vinesh has been fined Rs.3,000/- for putting in late declaration in respect of his charge ASTAPOR.

 

PRIDE’S PRINCE (C. S. Jodha, dr.10) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

At the start, MADRAS CHEQUE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) jumped inwards and made contact with YULETIDE (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.5).

 

At the start, LION KING (Amyn Merchant, dr.9) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, METZINGER (C. Umesh) shifted in under urgings onto MADRAS CHEQUE (Neeraj Rawal) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing LUMINOSITY (S. A. Amit) who had to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey C. Umesh has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, ZUCCARO was trotted and found to be sound. YULETIDE was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (29) – THE INDIAN ASSOCIATION OF EQUINE PRACTITIONERS TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

At the start, REGINA MEMORABILIS (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) jumped inwards and ARKADIAN (C. Umesh, dr.1) leaned outwards due to which SECRET TO SUCCESS (S. A. Amit, dr.2) drawn between them was tightened and had to be checked.

 

Passing the 1200 metres, MYSTERIOUSSTRANGER (A. Sandesh) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing AERODYNAMIC (C. S. Jodha) causing the latter to be checked. Thereafter, approaching the 500 metres, MYSTERIOUSSTRANGER leaned inwards thereby tightening REGINA MEMORABILIS (Neeraj Rawal) along the rails causing the latter to be checked. After questioning, Jockey A. Sandesh stated that his mount was running green throughout the race, not being entirely satisfied with the explanation tendered, Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey C. Umesh (ARKADIAN) reported that his mount was running green throughout the race and that passing the 400 metres he was held up for room until approaching the 200 metres.

 

After the race, APPLAUSE, ARKADIAN & ATATURK were trotted and found to be sound.

 

At the request of the Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, endoscopy was performed on AERODYNAMIC at the Equine Hospital and found to have epiglottic entrapment.

 

RACE NO.6 (30) –  THE YOHAN Z. POONAWALLA TURF CLUB TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

At the start, ROYAL MYSORE (Akshay Kumar, dr.3) jumped inwards onto MOJITO (N. S. Parmar, dr.2) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, ROYAL MYSORE (Akshay Kumar) shifted out under use of the whip thereby bumping and carrying KNOTTY CHARMER (Suraj Narredu) outwards onto CHOPIN (Neeraj Rawal) racing on its haunches, causing the latter to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Akshay Kumar has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Approaching the 200 metres, SIEGE COURAGEOUS (Antony Raj S.) shifted out under urgings thereby forcing a passage at the same time TIME AND TIDE (A. Sandesh) shifted in under urgings thereby bumping MAGILETO (T. S. Jodha) racing between them who was tightened for room and had to be checked. After questioning all concerned, Jockeys Antony Raj S. and A. Sandesh have been fined Rs.5,000/- each.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that KNOTTY CHARMER was declared to run with bandages on both hind but ran without bandages. As such, Trainer Prasanna Kumar P. has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

 

After the race, TIME AND TIDE was trotted and found to be sound. SIEGE COURAGEOUS was observed to have an injury on left hind pastern. ROYAL MYSORE was observed to have lost its right fore shoe. COUNT OF SAVOY was observed to have an injury on right hind fetlock.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that COUNT OF SAVOY had both eyes injuries with ulcer (sore) and ROYAL MYSORE had right eye injury with ulcer (sore).

 

RACE NO.7 (31) –  THE WESTERN INDIA RACE HORSE OWNERS' ASSOCIATION TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

Approaching the 350 metres, FIGHTON (N. S. Parmar) shifted out under urgings thereby forcing a passage resulting in bumping and boring ART COLLECTOR (A. Sandesh), thereafter, ART COLLECTOR leaned inwards thereby tightening FIGHTON. After questioning all concerned, Jockey N. S. Parmar has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MAJESTIC WARRIOR had left eye injury with ulcer.

 

After the race, JULIUS & ART COLLECTOR were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8 (32) –  THE WESTERN INDIA TRAINERS' ASSOCIATION TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

Trainer Vinesh has been fined Rs.3,000/- for putting in late declaration in respect of his charge GALLOPING GLORY.

 

At the start, REMY RED (App. S. Saba, dr.3) jumped outwards at the same time THE GENERAL (Bhawani Singh, dr.5) jumped inwards due to which WILD THING (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.4) drawn between them was tightened and had to be checked. App. S. Saba and Jockey Bhawani Singh have been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey Shahrukh Khan (BRAVE BEAUTY) reported that the saddle used on his mount had slipped during the race. This being the first instance of faulty saddling during the current Pune Meeting 2024, Tr. Hosidar Daji has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, REMY RED, ENDURANCE, KANYA RASHI & KINZHAL were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 4th & 8th race, viz. PRECIOSO, SNOWFALL, ZUCCARO & BRAVE BEAUTY, and the special sample of ATATURK (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.

 

The urine and blood samples of the SIEGE COURAGEOUS (Winner – 6th race) & ROYAL MYSORE (2nd place – 6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
