RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 7 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 11 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

RACE NO.1(312) – THE REGAL EQUITY PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

At the request of Trainer Suresh Chavan, YARDSTICK was examined at 0820 hours on 10/04/2016 and was observed to have swelling on the right hind fetlock subsequent to injury. Also, the mare had an injury below the hock on cannon. As such, YARDSTICK was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the mare from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

At the start, RACHEL (App. D. R. Shubham, dr.3) jumped inwards and was steadied.

Passing 800 metres, BARYSHNIKOV (P. Trevor) shifted in and cut across ROYAL SAPPHIRE (App. H. Zeeshan) and RICH N RARE (App. Akshay Gaikwad) thereby causing the latter to be checked. Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.

After the race, Jockey S. G. Prasad (SPEED MAGIC) reported that his mount hung out in the straight despite his efforts. The Sr. V.O. was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that SPEED MAGIC was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, RACHEL, BIG BRO and NOBITA were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(313) – THE QUEST FOR CASH PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 10

FAST FUTURE (B. Nikhil) jumped out slow and thereafter did not raise an effective gallop. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Approaching 1000 metres, MR FORD (M. A. Roushan) shifted in on to EAGLE SPIRIT (Shrikant Kamble) who was tightened along the rails.

Passing 900 meters, IN MY LIFE (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted in and cut across WINDS OF CHANGE (App. D. S. Daman) and RELENTLESS PURSUIT (P. Trevor), due to which WINDS OF CHANGE had to be checked. App. H. Zeeshan has been cautioned.

After the race, Jockey M. A. Roushan (MR FORD) reported that his mount was erratic throughout the race and had ducked in at about 150 metres. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

An enquiry has been initiated into the comparative performance of FRANKEST and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, RELENTLESS PURSUIT was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, MR FORD, RELENTLESS PURSUIT, AEOLUS MAXIMUS and ESPADA were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(314) – THE SATINELLO TROPHY (DIV.II): ( About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 9

THUNDER DOWN UNDER (S. Zervan) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

FOREVER FREE (Anil Baandal) was also reluctant to be stalled. Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner in its previous start, Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

At the start, THUNDER DOWN UNDER (S. Zervan, dr.2) shifted out on to FIREBOLT (B. Nikhil, dr.4) due to which ESPRESSO (App. Santosh G, dr. 5) was inconvenienced.

At the start, NUTCRACKER (P. Trevor, dr. 7) shifted in and made contact with MAGICAL MEMORY (A. Sandesh, dr. 6).

Passing 200 metres, THUNDER DOWN UNDER (S. Zervan) shifted out on to NUTCRACKER (P. Trevor).

RACE NO.4(315) – THE MADRAS RACE CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 5

Passing 700 metres, PAPAKURA (App. H. Zeeshan) was observed to have brushed the rails.

Passing 250 metres, App. Santosh G. (BRAHMACHARI) was observed to have lost his whip. On questioning, App. Santosh G. stated that in an effort to change his grip, his whip had slipped. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking further into this incident.

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (ZANDER) reported that his mount was inclined to run out. Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, BRAHMACHARI was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, ZANDER was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(316) – THE REGAL EQUITY PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 10

At the start, ACKER BILK (P. Trevor, dr.6) jumped inwards on to NAME OF THE GAME (D. A. Naik, dr.5) thereby starting a chain reaction, due to which DANCING DAE’MON (App. H. Zeeshan, dr.4), AZALEA (B. Nikhil, dr. 3) and PADMAKOSA (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr.2) were inconvenienced.

Passing 900 metres, DANCING DAE’MON (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted in on to AZALEA (B. Nikhil) who in turn went on to PADMAKOSA (App. N. B. Kuldeep).

App. Santosh G. (PRETTY IN PATPONG) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

After the race, Jockey Kishore Kadam (AMAZON CAT) reported that in an effort to gather his reins in the final furlong they had slipped out of his hands. Jockey Kishore Kadam has been cautioned.

After the race, DANCING DAE’MON was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.6(317) – THE SATINELLO TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 9

At the start, SKY MINE (P. Trevor, dr. 5) was tightened for room between LONDON (S. Zervan, dr.4) and CYCLONE (A. Sandesh, dr.6) and had to be steadied.

At the start, SUSSEX PRIDE (Shrikant Kamble, dr.2) shifted in and made contact with ZANZIBAAR (J. Chinoy, dr.1).

Passing the 900 metres, CYCLONE (A. Sandesh) shifted out onto SKY MINE (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied.

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (BROTHERSOFTHEWIND) reported that his mount ran green.

RACE NO.7(318) – THE SKODA SUPERB CUP: (About) 1400 Metres– Runners – 14

MAGICAL DANCER (B. Nikhil) jumped out slow, losing about 5 lengths at the start. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its previous start, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

At the start, CHARGING TIGRESS (App. D. S. Daman, dr. 5) jumped outwards and at the same time JARAMA (App. S. A. Amit, dr.7) shifted in, due to which ADRENO (App. Yash Narredu, dr.6) had to be checked.

At the start, PINK PANTHER (S. Zervan, dr. 9) shifted in on to FRIBOURG (App. Jaykumar, dr.8).

Soon after the start, ARLENE (P. Trevor) was tightened for room between UNICO CORAZON (App. H. Zeeshan) and QUEEN THEA (Shrikant Kamble) and had to be checked.

After the race, FRIBOURG and LORD ARAZAN (examined on 11/04/2016) were found to be sore by the left fore leg. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The Sr. V.O. reported that ANOTHER ACE was examined in trot in the morning at the stables on 11/04/2016 and found to be sound.

RACE NO.8(319) – THE QUEST FOR CASH PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10

At the start, AINRA (Kishore Kadam, dr. 9) shifted out on to ALIEN (A. Sandesh, dr. 10)

Passing the 900 metres, ALIEN (A. Sandesh) shifted in and went across AINRA (Kishore Kadam) due to which, SPEED OF SOUND (App. D. S. Daman) and ICE AFFAIR (T. S. Jodha) were tightened.

After the race Jockey B. Nikhil (ALFONSO) reported the loss of whip at about 350 metres.

The Sr. V.O. reported that SAIL PAST was examined in trot in the morning at the stables on 11/04/2016 and found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. BARYSHNIKOV (1^st race), FRANKEST (2^nd race), MAGICAL MEMORY (3^rd race), RULE DOWNUNDER (4^th race), SPEEDO (5^th race), LONDON (6^th race), PINK PANTHER (7^th race) and ALIEN (8^th race), and the special sample of NOBITA (1^st race) and RELENTLESS PURSUIT (2^nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
