RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 8 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, permission was granted to Trainer Dallas Todywalla to saddle his charges RELENTLESS PURSUIT (1^st race), IRON AGE (2^nd race), JAGER BOMB & FLEUR DE LYS (4^th race) and CAPRISCA & B FIFTY TWO (5^th race), at his own (Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(178) –THE RONALDO PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 7

At the start, KINGSMAN (P. S. Chouhan, dr.7) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.

Approaching 150 metres, KINGSMAN (P. S. Chouhan) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing PABLO (A. Sandesh). After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan reported that his mount hung in despite his efforts. TrainerDeepesh Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, KINGSMAN was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(179) –THE MULRAJ GOCULDAS TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 5

Approaching 1000 metres, EYES FOR YOU (A. Sandesh) leaned inwards and at the same time CELTIC PRINCE (Kunal Bunde) leaned outwards thereby tightening HOLY SMOKE (S. Zervan). After questioning all concerned, Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

After the race, HOLY SMOKE and EYES FOR YOU were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(180) –THE K.M.MUNSHI TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 8

QUEEN CREDIBLE (N.S.Parmar) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

After the race, DOUBLE NINE was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(181) –THE JAYARAMDAS PATEL GOLD TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 6

Approaching 550 metres, BRAZOS (A. Sandesh ) shifted out thereby bumping ITS A DEAL (Amyn Merchant), who in turn shifted out and made contact with KENNEDY (S. Zervan) forcing it outwards. After questioning, Jockey A.Sandesh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

Jockey Amyn Merchant (ITS A DEAL) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On questioning, Jockey Amyn Merchant stated that his mount hung in, as such, he had used the whip as a corrective measure. As the same was borne out from the video recording of the race, no action was initiated against Jockey Amyn Merchant, however, Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, KENNEDY was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(182) –THE C.N.WADIA GOLD CUP (GR.2): (About) 2400 Metres – Runners - 5

After the race, MATHAIYUS was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.6(183) – THE NADIA MARY HOMI WADIA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12

At the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, TRACK STAR was examined at 1830 hours on 09/03/2019 and found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

GOLD DUST (M.A.Roushan) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

Passing 600 metres, BAIT AND SWITCH (App. S. A. Amit) shifted in and bumped BELENUS (Neeraj Rawal). Thereafter, passing 500 metres, BAIT AND SWITCH further shifted in and bumped BELENUS who was inclined outwards. After questioning both the Jockeys, App. S. A. Amit has been suspended for 2 Race Days i.e. from 29^th to 31^st March, 20019 (both days inclusive) for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

Approaching 350 metres, BLACK CHERRY (Dashrath Singh) shifted in thereby tightening COURAGEOUS STAR (Shrikant Kamble) along the rails, forcing the latter to be checked and drop back. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.

Passing 350 metres, BELENUS (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out and made contact with MIRABILIS (N. S. Parmar).

After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (TRISTAR) reported the loss of whip passing the 50 metres. This being his first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2018/19, no action has been initiated.

After the race, BELENUS was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(184) - THE ANGELIQUE PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 14

RAIN DANCE (S.S.Baria) jumped out slow losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Approaching 900 metres, RED CARNATION (J. Chinoy) shifted out thereby tightening GRAPEVINE (App. K. Nazil) forcing it to be checked and drop back, due to which OLLY BOY (App.D.R.Shubham) and EBONY (App.A.S.Peter) were inconvenienced.

Passing 350 metres, ISINIT (App. M. Ayyar) leaned inwards and at the same time ADAMS BEGINNING (S. Sunil) shifted out and both were observed to have made contact.

Passing 150 metres, TOP WIZARD (App.Aniket Karande) shifted in thereby tightening GRAPEVINE (App. K. Nazil) along the rails. App. Aniket Karande has been cautioned.

In the final stages of the race, WHO’SYOURDADDY (S. Zervan) veered inwards and cut across BOHEMIAN (App. Parbat Singh) who clipped the heels of the former and stumbled thereby dislodging its rider. As a result of this incident, the rider-less BOHEMIAN shifted out and collided with OLLY BOY (App. D. R. Shubham) causing its rider to be dislodged. Jockey S.Zervan was asked to wait after the last race to meet the Stewards for dangerous riding, however, consideration of the matter was deferred.

Jockey S. Sunil (ADAMS BEGINNING) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On questioning, Jockey S. Sunil reported that his mount hung in. as such, he had used the whip as a corrective measure. As the same was borne out from the video recording of the race, no action was initiated against Jockey S.Sunil, however, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, RED CARNATION was observed to have a cut injury at the right fore cannon. BOHEMIAN was found to be sound in the trot.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2^nd, 4^th, 5^th and 7^th race viz. BATELEUR, FLEUR DE LYS, CAPRISCA and PULVERIZE, as also that of VULCAN (5^th race), and the special sample of BELENUS (6^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
