PUNE MEETING 2022, SPECIAL RACE DAY, SUNDAY, 9TH OCTOBER, 2022.

RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2000 METRES TO 1400 METRES, 3 METRES WIDE AT 1200 METRES, 6 METRES WIDE FROM 1000 METRES TO 800 METRES, 7 METRES WIDE AT 600 METRES THEREAFTER 9 METRES WIDE UPTO WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.
On a request from Trainer M. K. Jadhav, permission was granted to Trainer A. M. Jadhav to saddle his charge MUFAZA in the 1st race & AME in the 8th race, at his own (Trainer M. K. Jadhav’s) risk and responsibility.
On a request from Trainer Aravind G., permission was granted to Trainer Karthik Ganapathy to saddle his charge MUSTERION in the 3rd race, at his own (Trainer Aravind G.’s) risk and responsibility.
RACE NO.1(94) – THE OCTOBER HANDICAP - DIVISION II: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 8
At the start, MUFAZA (N. S. Parmar, dr.3) jumped outwards and at the same time HAWK OF THE WIND (Yash Narredu, dr.5) jumped inwards onto PYRRHUS (Antony Raj S., dr.4) drawn between them thereafter MUFAZA leaned inwards onto DIAMONDINTHEROUGH (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.2) who inturn shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing PRINCE IGOR (K. Nazil, dr.1).
After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (MUFAZA) reported that this mount lugged-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, HAWK OF THE WIND was subjected to Veterinary examination including scoping accordingly the gelding was trotted and found to be sound. On being scoping it was found to have EIPH (Gr.1).
After the race, MUFAZA was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(95) – THE YANA PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 5
After the race, TERESITA was trotted and found to be sound and was observed to have lost right fore shoe.
RACE NO.3(96) – THE CHEF D'OEUVRE PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9
On the arrival at the start, TOMORROWS DREAMS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race.
At the start, DALI SWIRL (S. Saqlain, dr.5) jumped inwards onto THE AWAKENING (Yash Narredu, dr.4) who in turn shifted in and made contact with TOMORROWS DREAMS (Vishal N. Bunde) thereafter DALI SWIRL further leaned in due to which THE AWAKENING was tightened for room and had to be checked. Jockey S. Saqlain has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Passing the 300 metres, DESERT FIRE (App. Mustakim Alam) shifted out under urgings and went across DALI SWIRL (S. Saqlain) who was inclined inwards. App. Mustakin Alam has been severely reprimanded.
After the race, SOUZA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.4(97) – THE OCTOBER HANDICAP - DIVISION I: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 9
MY NAME IS TRINITY (Amyn Merchant, dr.1) jumped out slowly losing about 3 lengths at the start.
At the start, DIVINE THOUGHTS (S. Saqlain, dr.3) jumped inwards and bumped TYRONE BLACK (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.2) causing the latter to be checked.
At the start, DAZZLING PRINCESS (App. P. Vinod, dr.5) jumped outwards and went onto OUTLANDER (R. Ajinkya, dr.6) who inturn shifted out and made contact with MIGHTY THUNDER (K. Nazil, dr.7).
At the start, FREEDOM (Antony Raj S., dr.9) jumped and veered outwards.
Approaching the 250 metres, FREEDOM (Antony Raj S.) was denied a clear passage as such he had shifted out under urgings and in the process bumping and inconveniencing HUNAR (Vishal N. Bunde) thereafter continued to shift out and carried HUNAR outwards. After questioning, Jockey Antony Raj S. has been fined Rs.5,000/-.
After the race, Jockey S. Saqlain (DIVINE THOUGHTS) reported that approaching the 1000 metres the saddle on his mount had shifted in front. As such, he was unable to ride out his mount to complete advantage. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into this incident.
After the race, Jockey K. Nazil (MIGHTY THUNDER) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, LIAM was observed to have lost right fore shoe.
After the race, FREEDOM was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(98) – THE THREPTIN FILLIES' & MARES' STAKES (GRADE 3): (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 3
Soon after the start, FOREST FLAME (A. Sandesh) shifted in thereby tightening KAMILAH (Neeraj Rawal) and JULIETTE causing both the horses to check and drop back. After the race, on questioning, Jockey A. Sandesh accepted his mistake and added that he could have made more of an effort to keep a straight course. However, the matter has been reported to the Stewards for such action as they deemed fit.
After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (JULIETTE) reported that his mount was inclined outwards from 800 metres, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, JULIETTE was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(99) – THE LATE JAGANNATH B. SHETTY MEMORIAL MILLION: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 9
In the process of stalling, LETO (Antony Raj S., dr.5) the bridle on the filly had come off and the same was fixed in the stall.
Passing the 300 metres, IT’S MY TIME (A. Sandesh) shifted out due to which MURWARA PRINCESS (S. Saqlain) racing on its haunches had to check and change course. After the race, on questioning, Jockey A. Sandesh stated that his mount had weakened and dropped back.
After the race, ROYAL ALAMDAAR was found to be sore by left fore. After the first aid treatment the gelding was sent in an ambulance to the Equine Hospital for further diagnosis and treatment and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, STUNNING VISUAL was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, IT’S MY TIME was trotted and found to be sound and lost left hind shoe at the sampling yard.
RACE NO.7(100) – THE RAO SAHEB KEDARI GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 14
On the arrival at the start, Jockey Bhawani Singh (BLAZING BAY) reported that his mount had lost one of his hind shoe on the way to the start. As such the other hind shoe was taken off and the gelding was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race.
SANDMAN (Neeraj Rawal, dr.6) jumped out slowly losing about 3 lengths at the start.
After being stall, POWER OF BLESSINGS (N. S. Parmar, dr.9) reared up and dislodged its rider. As such, the gelding was taken out and was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race. Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, CIPHER (S. Saqlain, dr.4) jumped inwards thereby brushing the gates.
At the start, RON (Dashrath Singh, dr.8) jumped inwards onto RHYTHM OF NATURE (P. Trevor, dr.7) forcing it inwards onto MOMENT OF MADNESS (Shahrukh Khan, dr.5) due to the incident RHYTHM OF NATURE was tightened and had to be checked.
Approaching the 400 metres, SANDMAN (Neeraj Rawal) leaned inwards thereby tightening RON (Dashrath Singh) causing the latter to be steadied. After the race, on questioning, Jockey Neeraj Rawal stated that his mount lugged-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, COGNOSCO, BLAZING BAY, MOMENT OF MADNESS & POWER OF BLESSINGS were trotted and found to be sound. THE FLUTIST was observed to have lost right fore shoe.
RACE NO.8(101) – ROUND THE CLOCK RACING ON PLAY.RWITC.COM PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 13
At the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain, WORLD IS ONE was examined in the stable area at 06.30 p.m. on 08/10/2022 and was found to have painful right elbow, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been fined Rs.1,000/- for not producing the registered Racing Colours in respect of his charge TASMAN (App. P. Vinod). The horse raced in emergency colours i.e. “ALL BLACK”.
On arrival at the start, at the request of Jockey J. Chinoy, C’EST L’AMOUR was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by the left fore, as such the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s order. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After being stalled, MYRCELLA (Vishal N. Bunde, dr.3) came out from the rear gates thereafter she was restalled.
After being stalled, AME (N. S. Parmar, dr.9) was restless and not allowing its rider to settle in the stall. Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
After being stalled, REGAL PRINCE (App. N. K. Ashish, dr.10) played up and hooked his fore in the adjoining stall and casted himself in an awkward position. As such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 700 metres, BOLD ADVANCE (App. Mustakim Alam) was observed to have stumbled and thereafter stopped galloping. Further, Club’s Sr. V.O. reported that the mare broke down and on examination found to be sore by the right fore. First aid treatment was given including application of a support bandage thereafter the mare was sent in an ambulance to the Equine Hospital for further diagnosis and treatment. The mare has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, FALDO was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, TASMAN & MYRCELLA were trotted and found to be sound. MYRCELLA had bruises on right hind fetlock.

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd & 8th race, viz. ARABIAN PHOENIX & TRISTAR, and the special samples of HAWK OF THE WIND (1st race) & SOUZA (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
The urine and blood samples of the FOREST FLAME (Winner – 5th race), JULIETTE (2nd place – 5th race) & ZARAK (Winner – 6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
