FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST. ALSO, 3 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE TILL THE 1000 METRES.

GENERAL:

Jockey C Alford telephonically informed that he had missed his flight from Kolkota and would not be able to fulfill his riding engagement today as such he has been fined Rs.5000/- for his lapse.

RACE NO.1 (192) THE SCENIC ROYALE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 11 

 

FIERY FORTUNE (P.Belose) jumped out throwing its head up.

 

At the start, BRAVE GUN (Neeraj Rawal) jumped out awkwardly and went out on to ARABIAN EMPIRE (T.S.Jodha), who in turn went out on to FIERY FORTUNE (P.Belose), who in turn shifted out and made contact with FASCINATION (R.Shelar).  Further, at about 300 metres, BRAVE GUN (Neeraj Rawal) lugged in and hampered the running of ASHWA PRAHAR (N.S.Parmar) and was steadied. Trainer HJ Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

At the start, SECRET TALK (D.S.Rathore) and ALOHAMORA (App.P.Trevor) jumped out awkwardly and jostled with each other. Both the Jockeys have been asked to be more careful at the start. 

 

At about 600 metres, SECRET TALK (D.S.Rathore) was inconvenienced while racing on the inside of ASHWA PRAHAR (N.S.Parmar) due to bend.

 

MEDTIAS PRIDE (C.S.Jodha) hung out throughout the race. Tr.Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockeys T.S.Jodha (ARABIAN EMPIRE) and R.Shelar (FASCINATION) have been fined Rs.3000/- and Rs.1000/- respectively for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on their mounts.

 

Jockey P.Belose (FIERY FORTUNE) reported that he found his mount uncomfortable in the race and therefore could not ride out his mount completely. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that the gelding had returned sound.

 

After the race, BRAVE GUN was found to be sound, having a gum injury. MEDTIAS PRIDE  &  SECRET TALK were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (193) THE PHENOMENALE PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 9 

 

BEETHOVEN (P.Kamlesh) and CAROUSEL (B.Prakash) were reluctant to be stalled. Trainers Bezan Chenoy and P.Shroff have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and to show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

FEMENIST ( P.Belose) was inclined to hang out through out the race. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly..

 

CAROUSEL (B.Prakash) hung-in in the final 200 metres and went on to STARDOM BOUND (D.K.Ashish). Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, ARDENT LOVER was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, GAURI was found to have a gum injury. CAROUSEL, SCINTILLO & FEMENIST were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (194) THE SIR SULTAN CHINOY TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres. Runners - 6

 

DOI MOI (Neeraj Rawal) was inconvenienced while racing on the inside of LIVING THE DREAM (Imran Chisty) as both the horses were ridden to obtain position, just before entering the straight.

 

Approaching 200 metres, TSESEBE (B.Prakash) lugged out and made contact with LIVING THE DREAM (Imran Chisty). Trainer Vinayak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

GO GUZZI GO (Dashrath Singh) lugged out in straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial Measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, TSESEBE, GO GUZZI GO & DOI MOI were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (195) THE GOBELIN PLATE (DIV.II): About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 10

 

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.1000/- for presenting his charge NUNCIO with the Pacifier Blinkers. The permission to use Blinkers was not obtained as such the horse raced with Pacifiers only.

 

Jockey S.Sunil (ITSPEARLOFRACING) has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (HOUDINI) reported that his horse was hanging out all the way. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

EMERALD QUEEN (Towfeeq R.Shaikh) hung out in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Trainer Rehanullah Khan was questioned regarding the comparative performance of TRUE ELEGANCE. He said that in the previous race i.e. Race No.149 the mare had finished the race off well except the first two finishers and the winner had clocked a Class III timing. Also, he had claimed 5 kg allowance today which may have helped the mare. He added that the common horse, TALENTED had finished behind his horse in both the races.To another question, the Trainer stated that he had given the mare a chance on her previous outing. The explanation tendered was noted.

 

After the race, TALENTED was found to have a gum injury, with upper jaw tooth broken.

 

RACE NO 5. (196) THE  INDO GERMAN OKTOBERFEST TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 11 

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (EYE OF THE STORM) has been fined Rs.3000/- for shifting out sharply at about 400 metres and going across DEVILITTO (R.Shelar) on his outside, who was checked.

 

Jockey Amyn Merchant was questioned regarding his riding effort on STAR GODDESS in the straight. The Jockey stated that the filly was lugging in throughout the straight and he had difficulty in riding her out. He added that he had changed the whip also. Not being entirely satisfied with the explanation, the matter was reported to the Stewards.

 

The Stewards interviewed Trainer C.D.Katrak and Jockey Amyn Merchant. Trainer C.D.Katrak said in the previous outing the filly was settled behind and had performed poorly, therefore, he wanted to see how the filly would perform if she hits the front and hence he had specifically asked the Jockey this time to hit the front and to do his best. He felt that the filly had performed well by being in front and he was satisfied with the Jockey’s riding. To another question, he said that the filly was tiring towards the end and did not respond even under whip. Jockey Amyn Merchant confirmed the instructions and added that the filly was hanging in throughout the straight. He said that he had done his best. The explanation tendered by the Trainer and Jockey was noted.

 

After the race, MICHELE MARIECI and STAR GODDESS were found to be sound

 

RACE NO.6 (197) THE  MARRIOTT HOTELS PUNE TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres.  Runners - 15 

 

At the start, CALL TO ARMS (V.Candrakant) shifted in and caused PHOSPHER (S.Zervan) to shift inwards, who in turn tightened HAMMERHEAD (App.M.A.Roushan). Jockey V.Chandrakant has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

App.P.Trevor (SCENIC SILVER) has been fined Rs.1000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

Near 900 metres, SCENIC SILVER (App.P.Trevor) shifted in and inconvenienced SWEPT AWAY (App.D.Akkshay), who in turn inconvenienced ROYAL GESTURE (D.K.Ashish). App.P.Trevor has been cautioned for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Passing 900 metres, FEONA (C.S.Jodha) shifted in and caused PHOSPHER (S.Zervan) to shift in, who in turn caused interference to BULLET (Y.S.Srinath). Jockey C.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Jockey M.Narredu (TITELIST) reported that his mount was inclined to run out while negotiating the bend. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding. 

 

After the race, FEONA was observed to have a cut injury on the left hind pastern.

 

RACE NO.7 (198) THE  KEENELAND JUVENILE FILLIES STAKES: (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 8 

 

At the start, SERENITY (B.Prakash) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside and made contact with OCEAN WISH (C.Rajendra).

 

Jockey B.Prakash (SERENITY) reported the loss of whip near 200 metres.

 

After the race, ANGELS PURSUIT was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 8. (199) THE  INDO GERMAN OKTOBERFEST TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 11 

 

SUPER KING (D.S.Rathore) jumped out slowly and thereafter swerved to the outside and did not complete the race.  Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey N.S.Parmar (ABSOLUTE REALITY) has been reprimanded for shifting in before the Red Marker.

 

OCEAN TERN (App.P.Trevor) lugged in throughout the race and near 700 metres caused ADMIRALS QUEST (A.M.Tograllu) to shift in, who in turn hampered the running of NATIONAL IKON (Imran Chisty). Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, BIG OLD MAN was found to have an abrasion on the left hind fetlock. OCEAN TERN was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9 (200) THE  PICCOLINA PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners - 16 

 

SHODAAN (C.S.Jodha) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

ITSPIRITOFRACING (V.Chandrakant) was slow in the strides, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Jockey B.Prakash (BORN SPECIAL) reported the loss of whip about 100 metres from the winning post. He has been fined Rs.1000/- for losing his whip for the second time during the current Pune Meeting.

 

Approaching 200 metres, GATRAVAT (N.S.Parmar) shifted in and tightened TYUMEN (S.Sunil) and then took its running, due to which TYUMEN had to be checked checked from its rightful running. Jockey N.S.Parmar has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

After the race, ARISTOCRATICAL was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the mare is not to race for the stipulated period of eight weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BARBARA was found to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.10 (201) THE  GOBELIN PLATE (DIV.I) : About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 10 

 

SUPER FAST (Shrikant Kamble) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At start, NATURELLE (F.Irani) and AMORA (S.P.Ranjane) jumped out awkwardly and made contact with each other. Both the Jockeys have been asked to be more careful.

 

At the start, TEASE ME (App.A.Sandesh) jumped out awkwardly and made contact with SUPER FAST (Shrikant Kamble). App.A.Sandesh has been asked to be more careful.

 

Near 300 metres, MUSICAL RHAPSODY (Nirmal Jodha) was steadied while racing behind CAVALRYMAN (C.S.Jodha) and TEASE ME (App.A.Sandesh).

 

After the race, NATURELLE was found to be sound.

CAROUSEL, GO GUZZI GO, OCEAN WISH & STARRY GLOW, and the special sample of ARDENT LOVER (2nd race), DOI MOI (3rd race), ELEMENTTO STYLE (6th race) and ARISTOCRATICAL (9th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO IMPROVED PERFORMANCE OF “STAR OF ROSES” IN RACE NO.153 – THE CAPE KNIGHT PLATE (DIV.II) (1000 METRES) RUN ON 18TH SEPTEMBER, 2010 WHICH THE GELDING WON AS COMPARED TO HIS PREVIOUS RUN IN RACE NO.140 (1200 METRES) RUN ON 11TH SEPTEMBER, 2010 WHERE HE WAS UNPLACED –  IN BOTH RACES THE HORSE WAS RIDDEN BY JOCKEY R.BIRAMNE :

 

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer C.D.Katrak in the above connection.  Trainer C.D.Katrak said that the horse ran thrice during the current Pune Meeting and on the three occasions he gave similar instructions to the Jockey i.e. to sit in a comfortable position, ride their own race and to do the best. He said that the horse did not show any form in the previous two runs nor did his work outs after Race No.140  suggest any improvement in the horse and hence he had not fancied the horse and he was at longer odds and the horse just surprised him.

 

The matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.

 

The Stewards at their meeting held on Saturday, 9th October, 2010 considered the above report and having deliberated the matter the explanation tendered by Trainer C.D.Katrak was noted.
