RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer C.D.Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charges GOLDEN GLORY (4th Race), VISION OF ROMANCE & MELINDA (5th Race) and BELMONT (6th Race), at his (Trainer C.D.Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(49) – THE SNOW DEW PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 8

 

UNIVERSAL JOY (Dashrath Singh) took a fly jump.

 

Soon on entering the straight, STELLA (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out and in the process made contact with ROCK THE TURF (J.E.Pereira). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (UNIVERSAL JOY) reported that his rein got entangled with the Neck Strap between 300 metres and 200 metres.

 

After the race, TUSCANIA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.2(50) – THE MADRAS RACE CLUB TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners -  4 – NO REPORT

 

RACE NO.3(51) – THE  SNOW DEW PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 8

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of Trainer Altaf Hussain,  JENS SECRET was examined at 1015 hours on 08/12/2013  (race day) and was found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The Sr.V.O. further reported that on scrutinizing Trainer Altaf Hussain’s Medication Log Book, it was observed that the same was not maintained since 17th October, 2013, as such the matter was reported to the Stewards for such action as deemed fit.

 

The Stewards interviewed Trainer Altaf Hussain and having heard him, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and decided to fine him a sum of Rs.15,000/- for not maintaining his Medication Log Book. Further, he was severely cautioned for the future.

 

MIGNIGHT LADY (C.S.Jodha) lugged outwards in the straight and then ran erratic. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

ARAVALI (J.Chinoy) lugged outwards in the straight thereby placing its Rider  at a disadvantage. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Passing 300 metres, MEGA STAR (J.E.Pereira) shifted in under the use of the whip and hampered the running of NIGELLA (Zameer Sayyed). Jockey J.E.Pereira has been fined Rs.2,000/-. 

 

After the race, MESMERIC, ARAVALI and MIDNIGHT LADY were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(52) – THE  YAWAR RASHID TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  12

 

Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been fined Rs.1,000/- for presenting his charge RAJSAMMAN with a Cross Nose Band, permission for the use of which was not obtained. The equipment was removed and the gelding was allowed to proceed to the Starting Gates.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (AROMATICA) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for coming late into the Parade Ring.

 

ZAAGROS (Satish Nayak) played up in the stall. GOLDEN GLORY (R.Shelar) was fractious behind the stall and after being loaded was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainers Narendra Lagad and C.D.Katrak have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (AROMATICA) reported that his mount lugged out in the straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (RAJSAMMAN) has been reprimanded for looking back repeatedly in the final stages of the race.

 

After the race, PRECIOUS OPINION, AROMATICA, GOLDEN GLORY and ZAAGROS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(53) – THE  AHMED I RAHIMTOOLA  TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 13

 

KOALAA (R Shelar) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Suresh Chavan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.  

 

RACE NO.6(54) – THE  G2 GOLD CUP: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 6 

 

Jockey Fr’co F.Dasilva (REKINDLE) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. 

 

After the race, AIGAION was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.7(55) – THE GRACIAS SALDANHA MEMORIAL MILLION : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 8

 

STAR TRAINER (S.P.Ranjane) did not get a clear run in the straight on a couple of occasions. 

 

RACE NO.8(56) – THE  ATTILA TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 17 

 

After the Declaration, Trainer Narendra Lagad informed that he had intended to declare Jockey Vijay R.Kadam on TELL ME MORE but had inadvertently declared Jockey Kishore Kadam Trainer Narendra Lagad was fined Rs.5,000/- and Jockey Kishore Kadam was substituted by Jockey S Sunil.

 

At the start, TELL ME MORE (S Sunil, dr.14) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to VIVA CAPRI (Prabhu Naidu, dr.15) whereby Jockey S.Sunil was unbalanced and lost his right stirrup which he regained after traveling some distance.

 

At the start, NEPTUNE’S OCEAN (Satish Nayak, dr.7) jumped awkwardly towards the inside and went on to FONTAINEBLEAU (N.S.Parmar, dr.6). Shortly afterwards, FONTAINEBLEAU shifted out and went on to NEPTUNE’S OCEAN.

 

At the start, MIDNIGHT RUN (Shrikant Kamble, dr.8) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to GOOD MEMORY (App.S.Mosin, dr.9).

 

Jockey Suraj Narredu (SUPERLICIOUS) reported that his mount leaned inwards in the straight. Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.  

 

After the race, FONTAINEBLEAU was observed to have broken a blood vessel and also had a cut injury at the left hind pastern. The filly is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks  and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, TELL ME MORE was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left hind tendon. ARCHIMEDES, LAURUS PRIDE and QUEEN OF VENUS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(57) – THE  FAIR ALWAYS PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 11 

 

Passing 800 metres, BLIND DATE (C.S.Jodha) lugged in and caused GRAN AMIGO (Kavraj Singh) to shift in, who in turn hampered the running of BE COOL (Vikram Jodha). Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Near 700 metres, GRAN AMIGO (Kavraj Singh) leaned inwards and hampered the running of BASIC LIFE (S.P.Ranjane). Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, GRAN AMIGO, SHOCKALOT and VALOROZKY were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th and 8th race viz. STAR GAZING, JEREMIAH, RAJSAMMAN, NEFYN and SAILOR, as also that of DANCING PHOENIX and ISHPINGO (7th race), and the special sample of AIGAION (6th race) and FONTAINEBLEAU (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 8th December, 2013 consider Mercy Petition dated 6th December, 2013 from Jockey V.Chandrakant and having deliberated the matter, decided to partially allow his Mercy Petition and reduce the period of suspension up to and inclusive of 12th December, 2013.
