RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (CHUTE) 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 8 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACKSTRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1300 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer Narendra Lagad, permission was granted to Trainer Vinay Lagad to saddle his charges LOIRE, ROCK IN RIO and USTAD PEDRO (1^st race) and TIMELESS DEEDS (3^rd race), at his own (Trainer Narendra Lagad’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(87) – THE ROSMINI PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners

LOIRE (Raghuveer Singh) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

INVICTUS MANEO (App.D.R.Shubham) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

At the start, SPEEDO (App. Malam Singh, dr. 3) jumped out awkwardly and went across INVICTUS MANEO (App. D. R. Shubham, dr. 2) who was slow to begin.

Soon after the start, SPEEDO (App. Malam Singh) shifted in due to GLORIOUS LAND (C.Umesh) being in close proximity, thereby tightening MALAVIKA (C. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied.

In the final stages of the race, App. Malam Singh (SPEEDO) was feeble and in-coordinated in his efforts. Being a first season apprentice, he has been referred back to the riding instructor to improve his riding skills and until such time he has been cleared he is not permitted to accept rides.

App. N. B. Kuldeep (USTAD PEDRO) has been severely reprimanded for raising his hand as a victory sign before passing the winning post.

After the race, GLORIOUS LAND, NEXTSTAR and INVICTUS MANEO (examined on 09/09/2018) were trotted and found to be sound. GLORIOUS LAND had a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel.

The Equine Hospital reported that LOIRE had left eye injury (lacrimation and mild corneal opacity).

RACE NO.2(88) – THE B.K.LAGAD TROPHY : (About) 1600 Metres – 6 Runners

Approaching 300 metres, ANGELS TOUCH (A. Imran Khan) shifted in and made contact with KIMBERELLA (A.Sandesh) forcing the latter to be checked and drop back. After questioning, Jockey A. Imran Khan has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

After the race, GOSHAWK and KIMBERELLA were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(89) – THE PORTRUSH PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 9 Runners

Soon after the start, NIGHTFALL (App. H. Zeeshan) shifted out and went across TIMELESS DEEDS (T. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied.

After the race, Jockey G. Amit (ITS A DEAL) reported that his mount hung in throughout the race, more so in the straight. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, Jockey A. Imran Khan (SILVER LOCKET) reported that he found his mount to be in distress and kept dropping back and as such he did not ride his mount out.

After the race, SILVER LOCKET, SANDRA and ITS A DEAL (examined on 09/09/2018) were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(90) – THE AKKASAHEB MAHARAJ TROPHY (GR.3): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

Soon after the start, ST. ANDREWS (Prashant P. Dhebe) shifted in on to SIOBHAN (A. Sandesh), who in turn shifted in tightening RUFFINA (Neeraj Rawal) forcing the latter to be checked and drop back.

Approaching 1000 metres, ST. ANDREWS (Prashant P. Dhebe) shifted in and went across CAPTAIN COURAGE (N. S. Parmar) who had to be checked.

The saddle on DANCING PHOENIX (Sandeep Jadhav) was observed to have slipped during the race. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

After the race, ST.ANDREWS and LINCOLN (examined on 09/09/2018) were trotted and found to be sound. ST.ANDREWS had lost its right hind shoe and had an abrasion at the right fore coronet. LINCOLN had lost its right hind shoe and RUFFINA had an abrasion at the left fore tendon/cannon.

RACE NO.5(91) – THE RADIO ONE RUN: (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners

DIREWOLF (B.Nikhil) and PANARAEA (G.Amit) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths each at the start.

TIGER KINGDOM (S. G. Prasad) was observed to have hung out throughout the race and raced on the extreme outside. Being the first run of the gelding, Trainer S. Waheed has been asked to take remedial measures.

Passing 400 metres, MYRCELLA (H. Zeeshan) shifted out thereby forcing FLAMING MARTINI (S. Zervan) outwards. On being questioned after the race, Jockey H. Zeeshan stated that his mount shied away from the whip and thereafter he had changed his whip hand immediately.

AUGURY (Akshay Gaikwad) was observed to have hung out in the straight despite the Jockey’s efforts. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race before next accepting with her to race.

After the race, TIGER KINGDOM, AUGURY and MYRCELLA were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(92) – THE LAGO MEDIO PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – 14 Runners

SHIVALIK SKIES (S.G.Prasad) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Vijay Kasbekar has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Soon after the start, App. H. Zeeshan (WINDFALL, dr.10) shifted out under urgings and bumped SILVER MOON (Bhawani Singh, dr.11) forcing it outwards on to SYLVESTER (S. A. Amit, dr.12), due to which both the horses had to be steadied. After questioning App. H. Zeeshan and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been suspended for one Race Day i.e. on 23^rd September, 2018. (permitted to ride work/mock race).

Approaching 400 metres, GNOSTIC EYES (A.Sandesh) shifted out thereby inconveniencing DOUBLDOWN (T.S.Jodha) who had to be steadied. Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.1,000/-.

Passing 200 metres, WHOOPSIDAISY (Amyn Merchant) shifted out and went across BRAZOS (D. A. Naik) forcing the latter to be checked and drop back. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000./-.

An enquiry has been initiated into the riding of DEVOTED (Altaf Sayyed) in this race and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, SYLVESTER, WHOOPSIDAISY, WINDFALL, RICARDUS and SHIVALIK SKIES were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1^st, 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th race, viz. USTAD PEDRO, ANATEVKA, RUFFINA and IMPROVISSO, as also that of ST.ANDREWS (4^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
