RACE DAY REPORTS

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED ABOUT 2 METRES WIDE FROM 900 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST.

 

On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charges AEACUS and FABRIZIO in the 7th race, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer D.J.Surti, permission was granted to Trainer Jayantilal K.Gor to saddle his charge GOTTAWEARSHADES in the 8th race, at his (Trainer D.J.Surti’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(130) – THE RAPIER PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – 11 Runners

 

Trainer Vinay Lagad who was deputizing for Tr.Narendra Lagad,  has been fined Rs.1,000/- for racing SAMAY BALWAN without the bandages.

At the start, STAYING ALIVE (T.S.Jodha) jumped out awkwardly. ZARACHA (R.Vaibhav, dr.10) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to SAMAY BALWAN (Akash Agarwal, dr.9) who had also drifted inwards and who went on to ARABIAN FIGHTER (S.Sunil, dr.8), who was awkwardly placed behind the heels of GUNS N ROSES (A.Sandesh) and was steadied.

 

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (SOUND OF RIVER) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Vinesh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, STAYING ALIVE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, STAYING ALIVE and GUNS N ROSES were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(131) – THE JUVENTUS PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – 5 Runners

 

Soon after the start, WORD OF HONOUR (Bhanu Pratap Singh) shifted in and inconvenienced MARS (A.Sandesh). Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh has been cautioned.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that WORD OF HONOUR was examined at the stables in the morning on 09/09/2013 and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(132) – THE SEPTEMBER HANDICAP: (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners

                                      

At the start, FOREST VISION (N.S.Parmar) jumped out awkwardly.

 

At the start, INSIGNIA (A.Sandesh, dr.2) suddenly ducked out and made contact with MORALS (C.S.Jodha, dr.3).

 

Jockey C.S.Jodha (MORALS) reported that his mount hung inwards throughout the race whereby he could not ride out his mount.. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding. The Stipendiary Stewards will further enquire into the running and riding of MORALS and submit a report later.

 

Approaching 200 metres, NEGOTIATOR (D.K.Ashish) leaned inwards and caused INSIGNIA (A.Sandesh) to shift in, who in turn caused interference to SINDBAAD (A.Ashhad Asbar). Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

In the final 100 metres, NEGOTIATOR (D.K.Ashish) shifted out under the use of the whip and made contact with FOREST VISION (N.S.Parmar) who had also shifted inwards at that stage.

 

After the race, STAR OF BABYLON was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock. MORALS, INSIGNIA, NEGOTIATOR and ARABIAN QUEEN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(133) – FIELD MARSHAL SAM MANECKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners

 

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (IN THE LIMELIGHT) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race and soon after the start had inconvenienced MOUNTAIN SONG (S.P.Ranjane) who in turn went out on to TITLEIST (J.Chinoy). Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

CELSIUS (C.S.Jodha) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh and Trainer Vinay Lagad, who deputized for Trainer Narendra Lagad on this day, were questioned regarding the running and riding of CAPITANO. Trainer Vinay Lagad stated that the Instructions were to go to the front or sit well up. When questioned, Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh stated that he was unwell earlier and had gained some weight, hence he had to reduce weight to get this ride and he was feeling weak. To another question, he stated that he had horses in front of him in the straight and he had no room to ride out. He said that he had done his best and had not stopped riding and had also used the whip. Trainer Vinay Lagad expressed his dissatisfaction with the Jockey’s effort. The Stipendiary Stewards will be enquiring further into the matter and will submit a report later.

After the race, MOUNTAIN SONG and CAPITANO were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(134)  – THE  SOUTHERN COMMAND GOLD TROPHY(GR.3): (About) 1600 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer M.K.Jadhav, HACHIKO was examined at 1745 hours on 06/09/2013 and found to be sore by the right hind leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

At the Start, SUPREME STAR (D.K.Ashish) jumped out awkwardly. 

 

After the race, NEONA was observed to have a cut injury at the right fore pastern and YUVILLE had an abrasion at the left hind fetlock. COMMANDER was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(135) – THE COL.KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 16 Runners

 

GRAND MARCH (Ikram Kha) played up in the stall and in the process the rider was hurt and unable to ride. As such, GRAND MARCH was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ICE PICK  (S.P.Ranjane)  was reluctant to be stalled and thereafter planted in the stall and took no practical part in the race.  Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

 

ELECTRA (I.Pasha) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Jockey C.S.Jodha (SHE’S SWEET) reported that his mount tried to run out soon after the start and in the process went on to WINDMILL LADY (App.Sandeep Jadhav).

 

Jockey P.Trevor (SUPER SATIN) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for using his whip with excessive intensity.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that after the race it was observed at the Equine Hospital that SHE’S SWEET had broken a blood vessel. The filly is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that STORMYDAY was examined at the stables in the morning on 09/09/2013 and found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MINSTREL SON was observed to have lost its left hind plate. GRAND MARCH, NEGREDO, SEEN IT ALL, SHE’S SWEET (examined on 09/09/2013)  and MINSTREL SON (examined on 09/09/2013) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(136) – THE  AIR STRIKE PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for racing his charge FIRST GLANCE without the bandages..

 

At the start, MT TIANMEN (Vijay R.Kadam, dr.8) jumped awkwardly outwards on to RECKLESS (R.Shelar, dr. 9) who went  on to TRAFFIC JAM (Kavraj Singh, dr. 10), who in turn went on to PADMAKOSA (V.Chandrakant, dr.11).

 

Soon after the start, RECKLESS (R.Shelar) and PADMAKOSA (V.Chandrakant) shifted out and shifted in respectively and made contact with each other. 

 

After the race, SHAUGHNESSY was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind pastern and PADMAKOSA had lost its left fore shoe. FIRST GLANCE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(137) – THE COL.KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 16 Runners

 

At the start, GOTTAWEARSHADES (Zameer Sayyed, dr.12) jumped awkwardly outwards and went out on to SATINGO (I Pasha, dr.13), which caused a chain reaction, wherein SATIAGO went on to STRIKING SHADOW (Akshay, dr.14), who went out on to PATRIOTIC (Kavraj Singh, dr.15) who in turn went on to NEPTUNE’S OCEAN (Virkam Jodha, dr.16). 

 

FLAMING HEART (R.Shelar) lugged out in the early part of the race. Trainer C.D.Katrak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

ICE SKATES (D.S.Rathore) was inconvenienced in the final stages of the race as TRUMP CARD (Bhanu Pratap Singh) shifted outwards.  Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, MOUNTAIN PRINCE was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon. PRINCE was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  the 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th race, viz. CELSIUS, SUPREME STAR, FONTANELLE and HUNT FOR HEADS, as also that of  NEONA & STORM TRACKER (5th race) and the special sample of STAYING ALIVE (1st race) and MORALS (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
