RACE NO.1 (329) – THE CORNICHE PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 7

 

At the start, POUND FOOLISH (A.Sandesh, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to PRINCE ARIUS (Akshay, dr.3) who in turn went out on to DANCING JENNY (Dashrath Singh, dr.4), who in turn made contact with UNKNOWN REBEL (C.S.Jodha, dr.5).

 

After the race, PRINCE ARIUS was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (330)  – THE  LUCKY PAIR PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 10

 

At the start, OLUCHI (P.S.Chouhan, dr.1) began awkwardly and went out on to MEDIATOR (Vikram Jodha, dr.2), who in turn went on to LET IT FLY (J.E.Pereira, dr.3).

 

BY THE WAY (A.M.Tograllu) began awkwardly.

 

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (SOLID ROCK) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his third offence, the matter was reported to the Stewards. The Stewards interviewed Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by hm, decided to suspend his Jockey’s License w.e.f. 28th April 2012 to 29th April 2012. (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).

 

WILD IMAGINATION (Dashrath Singh) hung out badly in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (HICKORY) reported the loss of whip near 200 metres. This being the third occasion of loss of whip during the current Mumbai Meeting, he has been fined Rs.5000/-.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, OLUCHI was scoped at the Equine Hospital after the race and was found to have suffered a Grade-III EIPH. The filly is not to race for the stipulated period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SOLID ROCK was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Being a second time bleeder, the gelding is not to race for the stipulated period of eight weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, HICKORY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race..

 

After the race, WILD IMAGINATION was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (331) – THE DR.A.H.SAYED  PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres - Runners – 9

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that GLORIA was examined on arrival at the starting gate and was found to be sore from right fore leg. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, BLITZING (Ishwar Pardeshi) and AFSOON (Dashrath Singh) jumped out awkwardly.

 

Soon after the start, FLYING STAR (P.S.Chouhan) shifted in and made contact with RED TABASCO (Shrikant Kamble) on a couple of occasions. Jockey P.S.Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

Approaching 600 metres, SIGNOR SASSI (N.S.Parmar), who was racing keenly at that stage, shifted out as the gelding was steadied and carried FLYING STAR (P.S.Chouhan) outwards.

 

Near 100 metres, SO ROYAL (T.S.Jodha) was hampered for a run when AFSOON (Dashrath Singh) shifted in as the filly was being corrected since she was inclined to lug out. 

 

After the race, AFSOON and SIGNOR SASSI were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (332)  – THE  HYDERABAD RACE CLUB TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners – 5

 

After the race, LYRICAL SYMPHONY was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5 (333) – THE V.P.KOREGAONKAR PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 9

 

TAMARAI (V.Chandrakant) and TAG ALONG TOMMY (Ishwar Pardeshi) were reluctant to be stalled. Trainers Sangramsinh N.Joshi and Sanjay Kolse have been asked to give their respective charge more Gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, BOLD DANCER (S.Zervan, dr.3) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with ALIYANA (Akash Agarwal, dr.4). TAG ALONG TOMMY (Ishwar Pardeshi, dr.2) jumped outwards. MARINE ZONE (Dashrath Singh) hesitated at jump out and did not show speed in the initial stages of the race.

 

App.Nikhil Bhjujbal (SILVER SCREEN) has been cautioned for exulting before passing the Post.

 

Jockey Amyn Merchant (SHABDEEZ) reported that his mount lugged out in the straight. Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

Jockey Akshay (RED PASSION) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out in the straight.

 

Jockey S.Zervan (BOLD DANCER) reported that his mount lugged in during the race and in the final stages shifted in and went across ALIYANA (Akash Agarwal). Since the gelding had broken a blood vessel, no action has been initiated in the matter. The gelding has been stopped from racing for the stipulated period of four weeks and until passed fit by the Club’s VO.

 

After the race, MYSTIC TEMPLE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, RED PASSION, TAMARAI, SILVER SCREEN and SHABDEEZ were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (334)  – THE  ADLER TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10

 

At the start, NEW HEIGHTS (Akash Agarwal, dr.2), after an awkward jump, shifted in and made contact with SERENA (P.S.Chouhan, dr.1).

 

Passing 300 metres, SERENA (P.S.Chouhan) ducked in suddenly as the Jockey used the whip since the filly was inclined to lug out.

 

RACE NO.7 (335) – THE LUCKY PAIR PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres–Runners –  10

 

Jockey Akshay (MCQUEEN) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being the fourth offence with regard to the use of the whip, the matter was reported to the Stewards. Consideration of the matter was deferred to the next meeting of the Stewards.

 

Trainer Sangramsinh N.Joshi was questioned regarding the comparative performance of his charge TROPICAL ZONE. The Trainer stated that the gelding was blind folded till the end and used to be fractious in the Gates and used to waste himself. Therefore after the previous run, he had given the gelding time to settle down in the Gates with the help of Blinkers and Cross Nose Band which he had used in the race also. He added that he gave the horse six weeks off which may have helped him. He added that this time he asked the Jockey to ride from the rear position. To another question, he stated that after the change of equipment the horse had improved a lot and the gelding had worked well coming into this race and he gave him a small chance. The explanation was noted.

 

RACE NO.8 (336) – THE SHAMAN JUVENILE MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 9

 

At the Start, VICTORIOUS MARCH (A.Sandesh) jumped outwards.

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (VICTORIOUS MARCH) has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker. 

 

Passing 400 metres, SNOW PRINCESS (Y.S.Srinath) shifted out under the use of the whip and carried ADELRIC (P.Kamlesh) outwards. Jockey Y.S.Srinath has been fined Rs.3000/- for improper use of the whip.

 

After the race, CATHARSIS was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, SAMANTHA and SNOW PRINCESS were found to be sound.

 

SNOW PRINCESS (Y.S.Srinath) was placed fifth and VICTORIOUS MARCH (A.Sandesh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

RACE NO.9 (337) – THE ADLER TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 10

 

At the request of Trainer H.J.Antia, ICE SKATES was examined at 0945 hours on 06/04/2012 and was found to be sore by right fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

After the race, IZARRA and LORD ARAGORN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.10 (338) – THE RAZA ALI PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 13

 

HYM  PATH (C.S.Jodha) planted in the stall and took no practical part in the race. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, KASKAZI (Akshay, dr.12) jumped awkwardly and was slow to begin. KALINGA STAR (Dashrath Singh, dr.9) jumped awkwardly outwards and caused GLOWING MIST (V.Chandrakant, dr.10) to travel wider from her rightful running.

 

The saddle on VINCERO (Amyn Merchant) was observed to have slipped forward during the race, as such, Trainer Jayantilal K.Gor has been fined Rs.2000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

 

An enquiry has been initiated in to the comparative performance of VIVA ZAPATA and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, VINCERO, JACQUELINE SMILE, MAUSAMBAHAR and VIVA ZAPATA were found to be sound.

 

The post race urine sample of the winner  of  3rd, 7th, 8th and 9th race, viz. SIGNOR SASSI, TROPICAL ZONE, DAYS BEST and TACHYON, as also that of NEONA & CATHARSIS (8th race) and the special sample of SOLID ROCK & HICKORY (2nd race), BOLD DANCER (5th race) and VIVA ZAPATA (10th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
