RACE DAY REPORT

 

RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1 (143) – THE S. PADMANABHAN CUP: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

On arrival at the starting gates, on a request from App. Aditya Waydande, EARTH was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to Race.

 

At the start, ALPINE STAR (App. N. Bhosale, dr.1) jumped outwards thereby forcing FOURTH WING (Yash Narredu, dr.2) outwards onto BEE MAGICAL (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

At the start, SON OF A GUN (K. Nazil, dr.6) jumped and carried EARTH (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.7) outwards causing the latter to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, EARTH (App. Aditya Waydande) shifted in onto SON OF A GUN (K. Nazil) who further shifted in and went across ARDAKAN (Vivek G.) causing the latter to  check and change course. App. Aditya Waydande has been cautioned.

  

Form the 300 metres, EARTH (App. Aditya Waydande) drifted out despite the riders efforts thereby carrying FOURTH WING (Yash Narredu), BEE MAGICAL (Neeraj Rawal) and BISHOP (Prashant P. Dhebe)  outwards. After the Race on questioning, App. Aditya Waydande stated that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

EARTH was trotted and found to be sound.

 

BISHOP was examined at the stables on 9th March 2026 and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (144) – THE J. P. VAZIFDAR TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

On arrival at the starting gates, on a request from App. N. Bhosale, THE ATHABASCA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

THE ATHABASCA (App. N. Bhosale, dr.5) lost about a length at the start.

 

At the start, SENECA (Vivek G., dr.7) was observed to have lost its footing and stumble. After the Race, Jockey Vivek G. reported that his mount was not galloping fluently, the gelding was subjected to veterinary examination and was found to be sound.

 

At the start, EMPEROR RODERIC (S. Mosin, dr.4) was observed to have lost its footing and stumble.

 

Soon after the start, EMPEROR RODERIC (S. Mosin) shifted out and went across THE ATHABASCA (App. N. Bhosale) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

THE ATHABASCA was observed to have trailed the field. After the race, on veterinary examination, the gelding was found to have broken a blood vessel, is not permitted to race for the ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the Race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

EMPEROR RODERIC was observed to have lost its left fore shoe.

 

DON JULIO was observed to have lost its right hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.3 (145) – THE RAJPIPLA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

After being stalled, HAVOC (R. Ajinkya, dr.7) was fractious and thereafter lost about two lengths at the start. As such, Trainer P. S. Chouhan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, MAGENTA (T. S. Jodha, dr.2) jumped inwards and went across AGE OF REASON (Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Approaching the 1100 metres, ABSOLUTE SERENITY (S. Zervan) shifted in and went across LION HEART (Akshay Kumar) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey S. Zervan has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, SPECTRA (Prashant P. Dhebe) shifted out and carried ABSOLUTE SERENITY (S. Zervan ) outwards. Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe has been cautioned.

 

After the Race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (AGE OF REASON) reported that his mount was running erratic throughout the race. This being the first outing of the filly, no action has been initiated.

 

After the Race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

AEGEAN SEA was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (146) – THE J. RUSTOMJI SOPARIVALA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

On arrival in the paddock, CROWN FLAME (Akshay Gaikwad) was observed to have sported a Tongue Strap, permission for the same was not sought, the tongue strap was removed before the  filly left the paddock and Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

 

GO TONTO (Bhawani Singh, dr.11) was reluctant to be stalled. As such, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Vivek G., rider of LUCKY DIAMOND and Trainer Narendra Lagad ,Trainer of LUCKY DIAMOND placed third by the judge, against Jockey S. G. Prasad, rider of QUEEN CAROLINE, placed second by the judge stating that “in the last 200 metres QUEEN CAROLINE has drifted out on to LUCKY DIAMOND whereby the Jockey had to check his horse on two occasions, whereby LUCKY DIAMOND lost a certain 2nd place as the  horse was full of running and the verdict between the  2nd & 3rd horse is Head“

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockey and the Trainer, in conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards, having viewed the Video Recording of the Race from multiple angles and acting on their own observations of the Race, the Stewards decided to uphold the objection, termed it as accidental and revised the order of placing is as follows:.

In view of above, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe (LIGHTING SPEAR) reported that his mount was shying away from the other runners throughout the race. This being first run of the filly, no action has been initiated.

 

RACE NO.5 (147) – THE GREATER MUMBAI POLICE TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 13

 

After being stalled, HEAVEN’S RYHTHM (Yash Narredu, dr.2) was fractious. As such, Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, ESTEBAN (K. Nazil, dr.7) was fractious. As such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ARIES (R. Ajinkya, dr.3) was reluctant to be stalled. As such, Trainer Vinesh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, PHANTASMIQUE (App. N. Bhosale, dr.11) jumped inwards and went across RED DUST (Amyn Merchant, dr.10) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

At the start, HAGIBIS (D. R. Shubham, dr.9) jumped inwards onto JOHNNY MAC (App. A. Omkar, dr.8) who further shifted in and made contact with ESTEBAN (K. Nazil, dr.7)  causing the latter to be steadied.

 

At the start, CHELSEA (App. Aditya Waydande, dr.4) jumped inwards and made contact with ARIES (R. Ajinkya, dr.3).

 

In the final stages of the race, JAISALMER (Dashrath Singh) shifted in thereby inconveniencing HEAEN’S RHYTHM (Yash Narredu) racing on its inside causing the latter to be steadied. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey Dashrath Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, the Jockey’s reported the following:

 

Jockey C. Umesh (ENSKY) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey A. S. Peter (ASHWA ALMATY) reported that his mount was not galloping fluently, the mare was subjected to veterinary examination and found to be sound.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

 

RACE NO.6 (148) – THE VALLABHDAS H. ADWALIA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 13

 

On arrival at the starting gates, on a request from Jockey A. S. Peter, MAJORELLA BLUE was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and certified fit to race.

 

GOLDEN HEART (Yash Narredu, dr.8) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

FAY (T. S. Jodha, dr.7) jumped outwards and made contact with GOLDEN HEART (Yash Narredu, dr.8).

 

Passing the 100 metres, CASSAT (Santosh G.) shifted in and went across EXHALT (Amyn Merchant) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey Santosh G has been cautioned.

  

MAJORELLA BLUE (A. S. Peter) was observed to have trailed the field. After the race, the gelding was subjected to veterinary examination and was found to sound. As such, Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to ensure that his charge puts up a reasonable performance in the future.

 

RACE NO.7 (149) – THE A. GEDDIS PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

 

On a request from Trainer Subhag Singh, DEMETRIUS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 04:50 p.m. on 5th March 2026 at the stables and was found to have a sore left eye and swelling above the eye. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

 

On a request from Trainer P. S. Chouhan, ABSOLUTE GORGEOUS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 11:15 a.m. on 8th March 2026 at the stables and was found to have a painful swelling on  its left fore knee (medial) and cannon bone. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on veterinary grounds.

 

 

On arrival at the stating gates, on a request from Jockey S. Zervan, GOOMAH was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and certified fit to race

 

On arrival at the starting gates, at the behest of the Stipendiary Stewards, MARCUS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and certified fit to race.

 

At the start, KAJO (App. Haridas Gore, dr.11) was observed to have lost its footing and stumble thereby dislodging its rider.

 

At the start, MARCUS (Antony Raj S., dr.10) was observed to have lost its footing and stumble.

 

Passing the 200 metres, BELIEVE (B. Nikhil) shifted in and made contact with MARCUS (Antony Raj S.) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey B. Nikhil has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 150 metres, SILVER STRIKE (C. Umesh) shifted out thereby tightening and inconveniencing MARCUS (Antony Raj S.) causing the latter to check and change course.After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation ,Jockey C.Umesh has been fined Rs 2,000/-  

 

After the Race, the Sr. V.O. reported the following:

 

MARCUS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

SILVER STRIKE was observed to have an injury on its right hind heel.

 

GOOMAH was trotted and found to be sound.

 

REMY RED was trotted at the stables on 9th March 2026 and was found to be sound.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th Race, viz. FOURTH WING, ZAYYAN, ENSKY, INTERCEPTOR were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
