RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1600 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1400 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 600 METRES AND THEREAFTER 10 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 7.5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

RACE NO.1(74) – THE STEP BY STEP PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners
Approaching the 600 metres, RAPID GLORY (Akshay Gaikwad) shifted in thereby tightening FLAMING PASSION (Yash Narredu) along the rails, causing the latter to be checked and drop back. On being questioned after the race, Jockey Akshay Gaikwad stated that his mount was leaning in. However, it was pointed out to Jockey Akshay Gaikwad that he had tapped the filly on more than one occasion from the left which led the filly to shift in. As such he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 200 metres, GALLOPING STAR (Shrikant Kamble) leaned outwards thereby inconveniencing SEE THE SUNRISE (P.Trevor). Jockey Shrikant kamble has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (FLAMING PASSION) reported that his mount was running erratic throughout the race. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (SEE THE SUNRISE) reported that his mount was leaning-in in the straight. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, PIXEL and SEE THE SUNRISE were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(75) – THE LAGO MEDIO PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
At the start, FELIX FELICIS (Amyn Merchant, dr.8) jumped inwards on to DESTINED FOR GLORY (S. A. Amit, dr.7), who in turn shifted in and made contact with LILIBETH (App. Raghuveer Singh, dr.6) causing the latter to lose ground.
Approaching the 1000 metres, THEA O THEA (App. K. Nazil) leaned inwards on to ALLEGRIA (App. P. S. Kaviraj), who in turn shifted in thereby tightening DRAGONMOSS (App. D. R. Shubham) along the rails. App.K.Nazil has been cautioned.
Approaching the 800 metres, WESTEROS (App.P.Vinod) shifted in and went across THEA O THEA (App.K.Nazil) causing the latter to be checked and change course thereby bumping and forcing FELIX FELICIS (Amyn Merchant) outwards on to OUTSTANDING (App. P. Shinde). After questioning, App. P.Vinod has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
While negotiating the final bend, SHAPATH (T. S. Jodha) shifted in on to FELIX FELICIS (Amyn Merchant), who in turn shifted in thereby tightening THEA O THEA (App. K. Nazil) who had to be checked due to tightly packed field and dropped back and thereafter stumbled. After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha reported that his mount hung in. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, FELIX FELICIS was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind tendon. DRAGONMOSS, THEA O THEA and SHAPATH were found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.3(76) – THE JAIDEV PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 6 Runners
Passing the 300 metres, KING SOLOMON (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in under urgings thereby inconveniencing BAIT AND SWITCH (C.S.Jodha) who had to be steadied. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, Jockey P.Trevor (ITHACA) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, ITHACA was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(77) – THE PORTRUSH PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners
At the start, ZENON (A. Sandesh, dr.6) was observed to have lost its footing and stumbled.
Approaching the 700 metres, MOZART (S.Zervan) leaned inwards thereby tightening AURELIA (Prashant P. Dhebe) who had to be checked. Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned.
Passing the 400 metres, FLOWER DUST (S. J. Sunil) weakened and dropped back thereby inconveniencing SAFDAR (Kishore Kadam) who had to be steadied.
Approaching the 300 metres, STAR COMRADE (Bhawani Singh) shifted out due to which ZENON (A. Sandesh) who was racing on its haunches had to be checked and change course thereby forcing CHAPLIN (Prabhu Naidu) outwards on to NOTTING HILL (C. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied. Jockey Bhawani Singh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (ZENON) reported that his mount hung-in throughout the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, HYANNIS was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, MOZART was observed to have lost its left fore shoe. HYANNIS was found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.5(78) – THE AKKASAHEB MAHARAJ TROPHY (GR.3) : (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners
EYES FOR YOU (N.S.Parmar) jumped out slow losing about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Soon after the start, STAR BARON ( A.Imran Khan) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening KILKARRY BRIDGE (C.S.Jodha) who had to be steadied. Jockey A.Imran Khan has been cautioned.
Approaching the 200 metres, GAZINO (Yash Narredu) shifted in and made contact with ST. ANDREWS (Prashant P. Dhebe), who in turn shifted in and bumped CLYMENE (S. Zervan) who was unbalanced. On being questioned after the race, Jockey Yash Naredu stated that his mount hung-in throughout the race. Not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to make sufficient efforts to correct his mount and Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to take remedial measure before next accepting to race the horse.
Jockey A.Imran Khan (STAR BARON) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2019, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-. Further, he has been fined Rs.1,000/- for improper use of the whip.
After the race, IRON AGE was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind pastern. GOVERNOR GENERAL was found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.6(79) – THE LAGO MEDIO PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners
Soon after the start, PATRIOTS DAY (App. P. S. Kaviraj) shifted in and at the same time AMERICAN ODESSEY (Prabhu Naidu) shifted out and they made contact.
Approaching the 1000 metres, ROMANTIC EYES (App. Raghuveer Singh) shifted in on to PATRIOTS DAY (App. P. S. Kaviraj). Thereafter, AMERICAN ODESSEY (Prabhu Naidu) shifted out thereby bumping and tightening PATRIOTS DAY who had to be checked. Jockey Prabhu Naidu has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
After the race, Jockey C.S.Jodha (STICK TO THE PLAN) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, PATRIOTS DAY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, STICK TO THE PLAN was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 4th and 6th race, viz. GOLDEN ERA, ZENON, and STICK TO THE PLAN, and the special sample of FLAMING PASSION (1st race), ITHACA (3rd race) and GOVERNOR GENERAL (5th race), and the Urine and Blood Samples of IRON AGE & ST.ANDREWS (Winner & Second Placed – 5th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
