RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 8 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 9 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 2000 METRES UPTO 1600 METRES TAPERING DOWN TO 4 METRES AT 1400 METRES, 5 METRES AT 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES AT 1000 METRES.
RACE NO.1 (27) – THE GOODNESS GRACIOUS PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 4 Runners – NO REPORT
RACE NO.2 (28) – THE STORM TRACKER PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – 5 Runners
JAZZMYN (Arshad Alam) planted and lost considerable ground at the start. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
After the race, MAGNOLIA was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(29) – THE RAJASTHAN ROYALS PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners
At the request of Trainer Nosher Cama, ZAMBIAN was examined at 0940 hours on 07/08/2016 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
IRIDESCENCE (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 5) took a fly jump. After the race Jockey P. S. Chouhan reported that the mare may have behaved in such a manner due to the effect of the bit and that he has advised Trainer Karthik. G accordingly.
After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh (CELTIC PRINCE) reported that approaching 200 metres his reins slipped and he had to gather the same.
After the race Jockey N. S. Parmar (SAN MARTINO) reported that as instructed, he went to the front. However, turning for home the gelding did not respond to his urgings and dropped back.
After the race, CELTIC PRINCE and SAN MARTINO were trotted and found to be sound. CELTIC PRINCE had an injury at the left nostril and had lost its left fore plate.
RACE NO.4 (30) – THE AUGUST HANDICAP: (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners
At the request of Trainer Sanjay Kolse, WINDHOEK was examined at 0940 hours on 07/08/2016 and was found to be sore by the left hind leg with swelling on the left hind fetlock. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After being stalled, SKY MINE (A. Sandesh) played up and put his both fore in the adjoining stall, as such the filly was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 700 metres, RAINBOW DASH (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in and went across CHEERLEADER (Suraj Narredu) who had to be steadied. Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Turning for home, Jockey P. S. Chouhan (RAINBOW DASH), in an effort to make his run on the inside of ICE ANGEL (App. Santosh G.), shifted in, thereby inconveniencing MULTISTAR (Arshad Alam). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.
ICE ANGEL (App. Santosh G.) was observed to maintain an erratic course in the straight thereby tightening RAINBOW DASH (P. S. Chouhan) along the rails approaching 200 metres and again approaching 100 due to which Jockey P. S. Chouhan had to stop riding and steady his mount. The Sr. V. O. was requested to examine the filly and he reported that no abnormality was detected, however, the filly had wolf tooth on either side. Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures.
After the race, SKY MINE, GOOD THING, ICE ANGEL (examined on 08/08/2016) and RAINBOW DASH (examined on 08/08/2016) were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(31) – THE MOOSA M. HOOSEIN TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners
At the start, ARTIFICIAL (Yash Narredu, dr.3) jumped inwards and made contact with MAGIC VISION (N. B. Kuldeep, dr.2) inconveniencing the latter.
Passing 300 metres, MIGHTY SPLENDOR (App. Raghuveer Singh) was observed to have brushed the rails.
Passing 150 metres, BELIEVER (C. S. Jodha) shifted in on to DIVINE MAGIC (J. E. Pereira), who in turn went on to MAGIC VISION (N. B. Kuldeep). Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and ridding of DIVINE MAGIC and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, MAGICAL DANCER was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock and ARTIFICIAL had an abrasion at the left hind pastern. MARCUS AURELIUS and MIGHTY SPLENDOUR were found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(32) – THE NOVOTEL PUNE TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 8 Runners
LOAFER (Arshad Alam) played up and flipped over in the stall, as such, the gelding was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
GENERAL’S SONG (C. Umesh) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Approaching 1000 metres. KODIAC QUEEN (Dashrath Singh) shifted out, due to which Jockey N. S. Parmar (NUTCRACKER) had to check his mount and change course. Jockey Dashrath Singh has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (FURY) reported that his mount hung out in the straight. Trainer M. Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, Jockey Suraj Narredu (KING OF KILLEN) reported that his mount hung out throughout the race. Trainer C. Rajendra has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Jockey Suraj Narredu (KING OF KILLEN) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. As the same was used as a corrective measure, no action has been initiated.
After the race, DROGO, GENERAL’S SONG, FURY and LOAFER were trotted and found to be sound. FURY had a bruise at the left hind coronet and LOAFER had a gum injury.
RACE NO.7(33) – THE PUNE BOOKMAKERS’ ASSOCIATION TURF CLUB TROPHY (GR.3): (About) 1400 Metres – 15 Runners
ZACHARY (A. Sandesh) stumbled at the start.
Soon after the start, SOLOMON (Akshay, dr.11) shifted in thereby cutting across FOREST FLAIR (N. S. Parmar) who went on to STRATEGIC MOVE (David Breux) who in turn shifted in on to DANCING PRANCES (A. Imran Khan). Jockey Akshay has been cautioned.
Approaching 400 metres, YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in thereby tightening ADAM (Neeraj Rawal) and SOLOMON (Akshay).
After the race, ADAM was observed to have an injury at the left nostril and APACHE had lost its right fore plate
RACE NO.8 (34) – THE NOVOTEL PUNE TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners
ZINFANDELLE (Akshay) jumped out slow, losing about 2 lengths at the start.
Passing 300 metres TIME OF MY LIFE (N. S. Parmar) was observed to have brushed the rails.
Jockey A. Sandesh (HOUSE OF COMMONS) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of MINSTREL HEIGHTS and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, TIME OF MY LIFE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind coronet. HOUSE OF COMMONS was found to be sound.
RACE NO.9(35) – THE MOOSA M.HOOSEIN TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners
ELSA (G. Amit) was fractious and reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
MR FORD (M. A. Roushan) lost about 2 lengths at the start.
At the start SILVER GHOST (Bhawani Singh, dr.4) shifted out and made contact with STRIDES AHEAD (C. S. Jodha, dr.5).
After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (SILVER GHOST) reported that soon after the start his leg had slipped forward in his stirrup and he had adjusted the same.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of MR FORD and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, REALITY and WHITESOX were trotted and found to be sound. INDUS PRINCE had an abrasion at the right hind cannon and WHITESOX had an abrasion at the left hind pastern.
The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. JIGSAW (1st race), MAGNOLIA (2nd race), TRAHERNE (3rd race), CHEERLEADER (4th race), PIERCE ARROW (5th race), KODIAC QUEEN (6th race), STRATEGIC MOVE (7th race), PUGNACIOUS 8th race) and FRANZ FERDINAND (9th race), as also that of COLOMBIANA & DANCING PRANCES (7th race) and the special sample of SAN MARTINO (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
