RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, permission was granted to Trainer Dallas Todywalla to saddle his charges HONOURABLE EYES (1^st race), GLORIOSUS (2^nd race) and MISS MONEYPENNY (6^th race), at his own (Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer P.Shroff, permission was granted to Trainer Vishal Gaikwad to saddle his charges SPITFIRE (2^nd race) and TAARRADHIN (3^rd race), at his own (Trainer P.Shroff’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(171) –THE WASHINGTON IRVINE PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 13

At the start, LABURNUM (App. R. Ajinkya, dr.10) jumped outwards due to which WESTEROS (P. S. Chouhan, dr.11) shied outwards.

At the start, SIR SONG (App. S. A. Amit, dr.12) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.

At the start, SADDLE THE WIND (App. Vishal N. Bunde, dr.6) jumped outwards on to ZEEMO (App. K. Nazil, dr.7), who in turn shifted out and made contact with HONOURABLE EYES (P. Trevor, dr.8).

Soon after the start, SIXTH EMPEROR (App. N. B. Kuldeep) shifted out thereby inconveniencing ZEEMO (App. K. Nazil) who had to be steadied and soon thereafter ZEEMO dropped back and stumbled. App. N. B. Kuldeep has been cautioned.

Soon after the start, VITESSE (App. N. Nadeem) shifted in and went across FENCING (A. Sandesh) who had to be checked. App. N. Nadeem has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

Passing 400 metres, SADDLE THE WIND (App. Vishal N. Bunde) shifted out on to LABURNUM (App. R. Ajinkya), causing the latter to be checked and shift outwards, due to which POWER OF THOR (Dashrath Singh) had to be checked. After questioning, App. Vishal N. Bunde, has been suspended for 2 Race Days i.e. from 29^th March, 2019 to 31^st March, 2019 (both days inclusive) for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

After the race, SADDLE THE WIND, SIXTH EMPEROR, HONOURABLE EYES and FENCING were trotted and found to be sound. SADDLE THE WIND had an abrasion on the right hind cannon.

RACE NO.2(172) –THE AZIZ H.AHMEDBHOY TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 6

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (SPITFIRE) reported that his mount was inclined outwards passing the 1200 metres and thereafter hung out in the straight. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, SPITFIRE was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(173) –THE KEUKENHOF PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 8

Approaching 600 metres, POWERFUL STAR (Shrikant Kamble) leaned outwards thereby forcing MYSTIC BAY (Suraj Narredu) outwards on to TAARRADHIN (P. Trevor) who was tightened for room and had to be steadied. Jockey Shrikant Kamble has been cautioned.

Passing 600 metres, GALLOPING GOLDMINE (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out and at the same time TAARRADHIN (P. Trevor) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing STARRINGO (A. Sandesh). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.

After the race, GALLOPING GOLDMINE and TREASON were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(174) –THE FLAREON PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 11

KIPLING (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow and thereafter stopped galloping. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting with him to race.

At the start, WHISPERING QUEEN (App. M. Ayyar, dr.10) jumped inwards and made contact with DESTINED FOR GLORY (D. A. Naik, dr.9) who was unbalanced and had to be steadied.

After the race, ABRAXAS was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, KIPLING and SPINNING GOLD were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(175) –THE FLAREON PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

The Club’s V.O. reported that CABELLERO was examined before the race and was found to be trotting sore by the right fore leg, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. CABELLERO has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

SKY BEAUTY (Neeraj Rawal) refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts, as such, the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer C.Rajendra has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Soon after the start, THEA O THEA (App. N. B. Kuldeep) leaned inwards on to VELVET VIBES (Altaf Sayyed). Thereafter, VELVET VIBES shifted in and went across AGRAMI (App. G. Amit) causing the latter to be steadied.

Approaching 600 metres, FIRE FLAME (App. Vishal N. Bunde) shifted in and went across PANARAEA (App. D. R. Shubham) forcing the latter to be checked. App. Vishal N. Bunde has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

From top of the straight, AGRAMI (App. G. Amit) was observed to have drifted out. Despite the horse drifting out App. G. Amit did not take corrective measures and persisted with the whip from the right thereby aggravating the outward movement. After questioning, App. G. Amit has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

After the race, FIRE FLAME was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(176) – THE AMATEUR RIDERS’ CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 14

On arrival at the start, POLYNEICES (App. A. Prakash) was examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.

Soon after the start, SASSY LASS (App. A. S. Peter) shifted in forcing EPIPHANY (App. M. Ayyar) inwards on to HIGHLAND PRINCESS (App. N. B. Kuldeep). Thereafter, ARC SHINE (App. K. Nazil) shifted out on to HIGHLAND PRINCESS, who in turn shifted out and bumped EPIPHANY causing the latter to be checked and dropped back. After questioning all concerned, App. K. Nazil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

Soon after the start, EL COMANDANTE (A. Sandesh) shifted in thereby tightening SASSY LASS (App. A. S. Peter) due to which EPIPHANY (App. M. Ayyar) was inconvenienced.

Soon after the start, GOLD FIELD (App.S. A. Amit, dr.12) shifted in before passing the Red Marker and went across the field, due to which COLLEGIUM (S. Zervan) had to be steadied. After questioning, App. S. A. Amit has been cautioned.

Passing 300 metres, ADELINE (Neeraj Rawal) was denied a clear passage and had to be steadied.

Passing 1000 metres, FLOWER DUST (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out thereby inconveniencing ARC SHINE (App.K.Nazil) and thereafter carried EL COMANDANTE (A. Sandesh) outwards, due to which SASSY LASS (App. A. S. Peter) who was racing on its haunches, was observed to have clipped the former and stumbled thereby unbalancing itself and its rider. After questioning, Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been suspended for 2 Race Days i.e. from 29^th March, 2019 to 31^st March, 2019 (both days inclusive) for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

App. K. Nazil (ARC SHINE) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his third offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2018/19, he has been suspended from riding in races for 2 Race Days i.e. from 24^th March, 2019 to 29^th March, 2019 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

After the race, GOSHAWK was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The Club’s V. O. reported that after the race, FLOWER DUST was trotted and found to be sound. The mare was subsequently scoped at the Equine Hospital at the request of the Stipendiary Stewards and found to be EIPH (Gr.III). The mare is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, LESREL, COLLEGIUM and POLYNEICES were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(177) - THE MONET PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 13

After being stalled, BENEFACTOR (Akshay) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race. Thereafter, BENEFACTOR refused to be stalled despite substantial efforts, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, SPEEDO (App. D. R. Shubham, dr.9) jumped inwards on to FALCONETTE (App. N. B. Kuldeep, dr. 8).

Soon after the start, ARABIAN STORM (Dashrath Singh) shifted in on to SLAM DUNK (App. N. Nadeem) forcing it inwards, due to which THEA’S PET (App. Aniket Karande) and DANCING LANCES (Amyn Merchant) were inconvenienced and dropped back. Thereafter, ARABIAN STORM further shifted in due to which SLAM DUNK (App. N. Nadeem), SMART CHOICE (App. S. A. Amit), CEZANNE (App. Vishal N. Bunde) and CHARLES BRIDGE (App. A. S. Peter) were tightened, causing CHARLES BRIDGE, CEZANNE and SMART CHOICE to drop back. After questioning Jockey Dashrath Singh and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

Approaching 600 metres, due to a tightly packed field CHARLES BRIDGE (App. A. S. Peter) who was racing on the haunches of SLAM DUNK (App. N. Nadeem) and FALCONETTE (App. N. B. Kuldeep), was tightened for room and thereby clipped the front runners, as a result the gelding lost its footing and unbalanced itself and its rider. Due to this incident, CEZANNE (App. Vishal N. Bunde) was inconvenienced.

From the top of the straight, DANCING LANCES (Amyn Merchant) drifted out despite the Jockey’s efforts and raced on the extreme outside and in view of this behavior, Jockey Amyn Merchant was unable to ride out his mount to complete advantage. Keeping in mind the earlier behavior of DANCING LANCES, Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting with him to race.

Passing 350 metres, CEZANNE (App. Vishal N. Bunde) shifted in due to which CHARLES BRIDGE (App. A. S. Peter) was tightened along the rails and had to be steadied. App. Vishal N. Bunde has been cautioned.

The saddle on CEZANNE (App. Vishal N. Bunde) was observed to have slipped during the race. Trainer A. M. Jadhav has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

The Club’s V. O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, CHARLES BRIDGE was scoped at the Equine Hospital after the race and found to be EIPH (Gr.III). Being a second time bleeder, the gelding is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, SHARAREH and ARABIAN STORM were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 1^st, 5^th and 6^th race viz. FENCING, AGRAMI and ARC SHINE, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
