RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 8 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 12 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 13 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 10 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(41) – THE DEEPALI PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

At the start, YOUR LORDSHIP (Shrikant Kamble) jumped awkwardly and shifted in and then shifted out as was being steadied, thereby losing ground.

After the start, STELLA (S.S.Baria) was hampered for a run when EMERALD FORTUNE (App.S.Mosin) shifted ground outwards.

Soon after the start, TOMORROWS DREAMS (App.Prasad) shifted in and caused interference to YOUR LORDSHIP (Shrikant Kamble) who in turn went on to EMERALD FORTUNE (App.S.Mosin). App.Prasad has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

Near 700 metres, WINCHESTER (Kavraj Singh) shifted in and tightened the field on his inside, in that, WINCHESTER went on to TOMORROWS DREAMS (App.Prasad), who went on to EMERALD FORTUNE (App.S.Mosin). Jockey Kavraj Singh has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

EMERALD FORTUNE (App.S.Mosin) lugged out in the straight and approaching 200 metres the filly shifted out and inconvenienced STELLA (S.S.Baria). Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

Jockey Shrikant Kamble (YOUR LORDSHIP) reported that after the interference at the start his mount lost interest in the race. The Sr. VO reported was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that no abnormality was detected.

After the race, WINCHESTER was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, ZOE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock, TOMORROWS DREAM had a cut injury at the left hind bulb of heel and CAPTAIN SMART had a cut injury at the right hind fetlock.

RACE NO.2(42) – THE VOX POPULI PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 5

After the race, DIVINE INSPIRATION was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at the right hind pastern.

RACE NO.3(43) – THE SNOW PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 8

At the request of Trainer Rehanullah Khan, MINUTE TO WIN IT was examined at 1145 hours on 06/12/2012 and was found to be sore by the left hind leg, having painful swelling on the left hind fetlock subsequent to injury. as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

MOUNTAIN WIND (S.N.Chavan) lugged in during the race and bored GLOWING STAR (App.Prabhu Naidu) for a few strides near 400 metres. Trainer S.Managlorkar has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race his charge.

UNKNOWN REBEL (Kavraj Singh) lugged in the straight and near 300 metres shifted in and hampered the running of MOUNTAIN WIND (S.N.Chavan). Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

After the race, MOUNTAIN WIND was found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(44) – THE BEAUTIFUL STRANGER TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 5

After the race, TITIAN was found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(45) – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10

At the start, KING JULIEN (A.Sandesh) fly jumped and was slow to begin. FIREHEART (Shrikant Kamble, dr.4) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with KING JULIEN (A.Sandesh, dr.5) and at the same time MACEDONIAN (S.Zervan, dr.6) shifted inwards and went across KING JULIEN.

Approaching 1000 metres, INCENTIO (Vikram Jodha) while being settled, shifted in and made contact with MACEDONIAN (S.Zervan) and then shifted out and made contact with EL CLASICO (Kavraj Singh).

MACEDONIAN (S.Zervan) lugged out for a brief period near 300 metres and KING JULIEN (A.Sandesh) lugged out in the straight. Trainers Shyam S.Habbu and M.K.Jadhav have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge before next accepting to race.

After the race, KING JULIEN, INCENTIO, FIREHEART and AWESOME SMILE (examined on 7/12/2012) were found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(46) – THE ETNA PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 10

Entering the straight, ZAMBEZI (Daniel M.Grant) forced out YARDSTICK (Kavraj Singh) to make his way. Enquiry into this incident has been kept pending.

Passing 400 metres, DAREDEVIL (M.A.Roushan) was hampered for a run as SURPRISE GIFT (Amyn Merchant) shifted inwards. Jockey Amyn Merchant has been cautioned.

Jockey Shammi Khan (DOMAIN ANNA) was reported to the Stewards for dropping his hands before passing the winning post, thereby losing the fourth Place.

The Stewards interviewed Jockey Shammi Khan and having heard him and having viewed the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 23^rd December, 2012 for dropping his hands before passing the winning post which cost him the fourth place (permitted to ride work/mock race).

GLOWING MIST (C.S.Jodha) kept an erratic course in the straight.

The Sr.V.O. reported that SURPRISE GIFT and GLOWING MIST were examined at the stables in the morning on 7/12/2012 and were found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(47) – THE SNOW PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10

SMOOTH OPERATOR (A.Sandesh) was fractious behind the starting gate. Tr.Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures.

At the Start, TAMARAI (Amyn Merchant, dr.6) jumped awkwardly outwards and SMALL TREASURE (App.S.Mosin, dr.7) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with each other. Shortly afterwards, BONGANI (App.Nikhil Bhujbal, dr.9) shifted in, due to which FOLLOW ME (Kavraj Singh, dr.8) shied away and shifted in on to SMALL TREASURE (App.S.Mosin, dr.7) who in turn went on to TAMARAI (Amyn Merchant). App.Nikhil Bhujbal has been cautioned for failing to make sufficient effort to control his mount.

App.Nikhil Bhujbal (BONGANI, dr.9) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in soon after the start and going on to MASTEROFTHESKY (B.Prakash) who was steadied, due to which SMOOTH OPERATOR (A.Sandesh) was also steadied. Further, App.Nikhil Bhujbal (BONGANI) has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker.

App.Prabhu Naidu (STAYING ALIVE, dr.10) has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red Marker.

Passing 1000 metres, TAMARAI (Amyn Merchant) possibly clipped the hind heels of GLORIA (Shrikant Kamble) and stumbled.

After the race, TAMARAI was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at both the hind fetlock. .MASTEROFTHESKY had a gum injury. SMALL TREASURE (examined on 7/12/2012) was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1^st and 3^rd race, viz. CAPTAIN SMART & UNKNOWN REBEL, and the special sample of WINCHESTER (1^st race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
