RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 1600 METRES UPTO 1200 METRES, 4 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES UPTO 1000 METRES, 6 METRES WIDE FROM 1000 METRES TO 600 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES WIDE UPTO THE WINNING POST.  RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 4 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charges CABO DA ROCA & KINGSWAY (5th race) and FENCING & STORM TRIGGER (7th race), at his own (Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha’s ) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(16) –THE A.GEDDIS PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  13   

 

TOUGH COP (App.A.S.Peter)  was very fractious and reluctant to be stalled, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing 1000 metres, the reins used on THE PIE (A. Sandesh) were observed to have broken, due to which Jockey A. Sandesh had to stop riding. Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using unserviceable equipment. 

 

Approaching 300 metres, SHAPATH (T.S.Jodha) shifted in under urgings and went across SIR RAMON (N.S.Parmar) causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning, Jockey T.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that VA BENE was declared to run with bandages  on both fore legs but ran without the bandages. Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that GANDALF had right eye injury (sore eye & lacrimation).

 

RACE NO.2(17) –THE SNOW DEW PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  8     

 

At the  start, FINE TUNE (S.J.Sunil, dr.8) jumped inwards and at the same time SEA QUEST (App.A.S.Peter, dr.7) jumped outwards and they made contact.

 

Approaching 400 metres, SUPER MARIO (App. H. Zeeshan) lost its footing and fell dislodging the rider.. On examination by the Club’s Sr.V.O., the gelding was found to have fractured its left shoulder.  With the consent of the Trainer, the gelding was euthanized on humane grounds.

 

After the race, SEA QUEST was observed to have a gum injury.

 

RACE NO.3(18) –THE FREE RADICAL PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  12    

 

After being stalled, RAMBLER (S.G.Prasad) ducked the front gates and ran breaking the front barrier. In the process, Jockey S.G.Prasad was hurt and indisposed, as such RAMBLER was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. The horses which were stalled were off loaded and were re-stalled once the track was cleared. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, AURODEN (N. B. Kuldeep, dr.4) leaned inwards due to which SPEED AIR (P. S. Chouhan, dr.3) shifted in and at the same time TWINSPIRE (Dashrath Singh, dr.1) shifted out due to which FIFTY GRAND (App. Malam Singh, dr.2) was tightened for room and had to be checked. Thereafter, FIFTY GRAND shifted in and brushed the railings due to which App. Malam Singh lost his stirrups momentarily.

 

Approaching 300 metres, PRINCESS ANNABEL (Bhawani Singh) shifted out under urgings and went across GOSHAWK (Vikram Walkar) who had to be steadied. Jockey Bhawani Singh has been cautioned.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that AURODEN was declared to run without bandages but ran with bandages on both fore legs. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

 

After the race, RAMBLER was observed to have a gum injury. AURODEN was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.4(19) –THE DEMOCRATICUS PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  7     

 

On arrival at the start, KHARTOUM (N.B.Kuldeep) was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. and found to be sore from the left fore leg, as such, gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

TUDOR HALL (S.Zervan) lost about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Vishal Gaikwad has been asked to give the filly more gate practice before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, MY PRECIOUS (App. A. Prakash) shifted in under urgings  thereby tightening GALLANTRY (P. S. Chouhan), BARACK (App. Kirtish Bhagat)  and ENID BLYTON (Neeraj Rawal).  After questioning, App.A.Prakash has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Approaching 1000 metres, BENGHAZI (App. P. S. Kaviraj) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing GALLANTRY (P. S. Chouhan) who had to be checked. App. P. S. Kaviraj has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that ENID BLYTON was declared to run with bandages  on both fore legs but ran without bandages. Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that MAKHTOOB had left eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.5(20) –THE ROYAL CALCUTTA TURF CLUB CUP: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  13     

 

At the start, CORUS (Ap.A.SPeter, dr.9) jumped outwards on to MOLDOVA (K.Nazil, dr..10).

 

Soon after the start, MARLBORO MAN (T.S.Jodha, dr.4) leaned inwards thereby inconveniencing DAGGER’S STTRIKE (N.S.Parmar, dr.3) and MELANIA (P.Trevor, dr.2).

 

Passing 300 metres, MELANIA (P. Trevor) shifted out under urgings thereby bumping and inconveniencing STREEK (S. Zervan) causing the latter to check and drop back. After questioning, Jockey P. Trevor has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, MELISANDRE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(21) –THE SNOW DEW PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 7     

 

IMPALA (Dashrath Singh) left the paddock early and was to be led to the start  riderless.  Subsequently, Jockey Dashrath Singh reported unwell and was certified unfit to ride by the Club’s M.O. Considering that it would have caused undue delay to call the horse back  in the event a change of rider was permitted, IMPALA was withdrawn from the race.

 

At the start, WILD FIRE (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.4) jumped outwards starting a chain reaction, thus inconveniencing HIDDEN GOLD (P.Trevor, dr.6), DAZZLING STAR (A.Sandesh, dr.7) and ANTARCTICA (S.A.Amit, dr.8).

 

Passing 700 metres, STORM BREAKER (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in thereby tightening UNTITLED (D.R.Shubham) along the rails causing the latter to check and drop back, due to which NAMAQUA (App.Aniket Karande) who was racing on its haunches, was also inconvenienced.  Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.2,000/-. 

 

After the race, DAZZLING STAR was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(22) –THE WHITE METAL PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  12     

 

NAXOS (N.B.Kuldeep) lost about 2 lengths at the start and thereafter dislodged the rider. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, MAXIME (Neeraj Rawal, dr.7) jumped outwards thereby bumping and taking the ground of CIRCLE OF LOVE  (S.Zervan, dr.8).

 

Soon after the start,  FENCING (App.Malam Singh) shifted in and bumped MAXINE (Neeraj Rawal) and at the same time CIPHER (P.S.Chouhan) shifted out thereby forcing NIGHTFALL (K.Nazil) outwards due to which MAXINE and FENCING were further inconvenienced. All Jockeys concerned have been cautioned.

 

Approaching 1400 metres, due to a tightly packed field, CIPHER (P.S.Chouhan) was tightened for room and had to be checked.

 

Passing the 800 metres, CIRCLE OF LOVE (S.Zervan) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing FENCING (App.Malam Singh). Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that SPRINGBOK had injuries to both eyes (left eye – lacrimation, soreness, mild corneal ulcer; right eye – sore eye, lacrimation) and CIPHER had right eye injury (corneal ulcer & slight opacity, lacrimation).

 

After the race, POWER OF THOR and CIPHER were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 4th, 6th and 7th race, viz. ENID BLYTON, HIDDEN GOLD and STORM TRIGGER, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

App. Malam Singh, astride SILVER STORM , was  observed to have entered the Sand Track after it was closed for maintenance purpose on 2nd December, 2020, as such, he has been fined Rs. 500/-.
