ADDITIONAL REPORT/S:
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “CHASING DREAMS” IN RACE NO 74 RUN ON 23RD AUGUST 2014 – TRAINER IMTIAZ A.SAIT:
Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait was questioned regarding the captioned subject matter.
The Trainer explained that the filly ran 400 metres more and had a change of equipment i.e. Blinkers were used this time on an advice from Jockey Dashrath Singh who had ridden the filly in the previous start. After the race, Jockey D.K.Ashish had informed him that the filly did not enjoy the Blinkers which the Trainer felt was the main reason for the filly to have performed poorly. Also the filly was still a maiden. The Trainer informed that he would change the equipment for the filly’s next start.
In view of the information provided by the Trainer, the explanation has been noted for future reference.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “ZURICH” IN RACE NO 78 RUN ON 23RD AUGUST 2014 – TRAINER M. NARREDU :
Trainer M.Narredu was questioned regarding the captioned subject matter.
The Trainer admitted that the performance of the gelding was disappointing. The Trainer said that after its spurt on 15th August 2014, the gelding had coughed and he had the gelding scoped but no significant findings were detected by the attending Veterinarian. He added that after the race on 23rd August 2014 whilst on his way back to the stable and also in the stables the gelding had again coughed and he was scoped but there were no significant findings as according to the attending Veterinarian, Dr. Prashant Wandhare, the gelding had EIPH Grade 1 and there was no infection of any kind. The Trainer added that in the race, the gelding had challenged the front runners and then suddenly dropped signifying that he may have bled internally but the scope report does not support such a claim.
The Trainer was informed of his obligation to report any occurrences and any investigative examination of the runners to the Sr. VO of the Club.
As to the future plans, the Trainer informed that he would give the gelding sufficient time before he runs him again.
The explanation was noted.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “FABRIZIO” IN RACE NO 86 RUN ON 24TH AUGUST 2014 – TRAINER HOSIDAR DAJI & JOCKEY R. SHELAR
Trainer Hosidar Daji and Jockey R.Shelar were questioned regarding the captioned subject matter.
The Trainer stated that the Instructions were to take a jump, get into a decent position i.e. in forward position but not to go to the front as the horse was drawn wide and to ride out hands and heels in the straight. The Trainer clarified that he did not want the horse to be in the front. The Trainer added that it was the first run of the gelding with him. Further, the gelding has had 3 previous starts wherein in one of the runs the gelding was in front and fizzled out in the last part. The gelding had stopped even when the Jockey had used the whip in one of the earlier runs.
The Trainer observed that this gelding gives up after heading the other horses and the same has happened in this race as well wherein the gelding gave up once he headed GLORIOUS REGIME on its inside near 200 metres.
When specifically asked about the Jockey’s riding effort in the last 50 metres, the Trainer opined that the Jockey had done his best and that he was satisfied with the effort and observed that the gelding gave up after passing the inside horse.
Jockey R.Shelar confirmed the instructions. He admitted that he had chance to go to the front as the gelding was keen but since he was asked to be in a forward position and not to go to the front, he had restrained the gelding and was in a good position coming into the straight. He added that the gelding had stopped in the last 100 metres as it had run after a long gap.
It was pointed out to the Jockey that he should have used his discretion to go to the front since the gelding was keen and had its mouth open as he restrained the horse, to which the Jockey replied that his Instructions were not to go to the front, therefore he had restrained his mount. It was put to the jockey that he lacked vigour in the last 100 metres after he had headed GLORIOUS REGIME on its inside and he should have been more vigourous when he found his mount weakening. Further, he had not exhibited the same zest in the last 100 metres as he had when he rode out his mount coming into the straight. The Jockey contended that he had done his best.
Not being entirely satisfied with the explanation of the Jockey, he has been cautioned with regard to lack of his riding effort at the finish.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “EXTREME LOVE” IN RACE NO 86 RUN ON SUNDAY, 24TH AUGUST 2014 – TRAINER HJ ANTIA & JOCKEY S.G.PRASAD
Trainer H.J.Antia and Jockey S.G.Prasad were questioned with regard to the captioned subject matter.
Trainer Antia stated that the Instructions to the Jockey were to ride his own race and to do his best. It was the first start of the gelding and he was not sure how good the gelding would be and how well the gelding would be able to position in the race. He said that he had asked the Jockey to keep straight and not to go all over and not to go about using the whip harshly but use it judiciously. To another question he stated that the Jockey had not worked the gelding.
The Jockey confirmed the Instructions and stated that the gelding ran scared during the race.
The race was viewed and the Trainer observed that the Jockey had ridden well, he had positioned the gelding well after the start and was interfered with near 500 metres and then lugged out in the final 200 metres and the Jockey has been able to keep the horse out of trouble. To another question, he admitted that the Jockey had erred in not changing the whip hand and not tried to correct his mount.
Whilst noting the explanation tendered by them, the Jockey has been cautioned for failing to change his whip hand and correct his mount.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “DOUBLE DIAMOND” IN RACE NO 86 RUN ON SUNDAY, 24TH AUGUST 2014 – JOCKEY J.E.PEREIRA:
Jockey J.E.Pereira was questioned with regard to the captioned subject matter.
The Jockey stated that the Instructions were to be in 3rd or 4th position and to do his best. He stated that he was informed that the horse is playful in the Gates and to be careful about it. He added that after the jump the gelding tried to veer to the outside and after that he heard shouts behind him and he thought that it was a big field and someone could be close to him and therefore he had remained to the outside till about the bend and then gradually shifted in and after coming in to the straight he had done his best. He said that the reason for him to travel wide was that he was drawn on the outside and because of the shouting on his inside he kept straight and had travelled wide. To another question, the jockey stated that he could not have checked his mount after the start and shift his mount across, behind the other horses as he was level with the horses on his inside. To another question, he stated that the gelding moved well till he sat against but weakened in the later part of the straight.
Not being entirely satisfied with the explanation of Jockey J.E.Pereira, he has been cautioned.
