RACE DAY REPORT

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THEIR ORIGINAL POSITION FROM 2000 METERS TO 1600 METERS, 2 METERS WIDE AT 1400 METERS, THEREAFTER 3 METERS WIDE UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METERS WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

RACE NO.1 (66) – THE ISHPINGO PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

BRAVO ZULU (C. Umesh dr.4) rushed the back gate and came out, in the process the bridle used on the filly came off.  Subsequently, the filly was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to have a bleeding injury in its right nostril and a gum injury. As such, the filly was withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s order. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SAMSON (A. Prakash, dr.6) jumped outwards at the same time BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe dr.8) shifted in thereby bumping, boring and tightening HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.7) drawn between them causing the latter to check. After the race, on questioning  Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe stated that his mount was standing awkwardly in the stall, as a result had jumped inwards and had no time to correct the same. Having viewed the replay, the Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with his explanation and fined him Rs.3,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

At the start, ASHWA ANKARA (Amyn Merchant, dr.9) jumped inwards throwing its head up and had to be steadied.

 

At the start, SKY FULL OF STARS (Akshay Gaikwad, dr.10) jumped out awkwardly.

 

Passing the 900 metres, BETWEEN FRIENDS (Prashant P. Dhebe) leaned inwards and made contact with HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan) on more than one occasion. Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe has been cautioned

 

Passing the 700 metres, ASHWA ANKARA (Amyn Merchant) shifted in for no apparent reason thereby tightening and inconveniencing MOMENT OF MADNESS (N. S. Parmar). After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, SKY FULL OF STARS (Akshay Gaikwad) shifted in and went across TRAIL BLAZER (App. Ramswarup) causing the latter to check and change course. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Akshay Gaikwad has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing the 150 metres, TRAIL BLAZER (App. Ramswarup) was observed to be inclined inwards due to which MOMENT OF MADNESS (N. S. Parmar) racing on its haunches was tightened for room and had to be steadied. After the race, App. Ramswarup reported that his mount hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

An objection was lodged by Trainer Narendra Lagad and Mr. Dharrit Shah ,Owner of HOUSE OF LORDS (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.7) placed 5th by the Judge, reason being "HOUSE OF LORDS had an unfair start as the blindfold was removed at the end, whereas it should have been removed much earlier, due to which he had missed the start, as his normal style, hence in public interest as he was favorite to declare him a non-starter due to non-compliance.

 

The Stewards, after considering the submissions made by Trainer Narendra Lagad, Mr. Shah, App. Avinash Paswan, the Starter along with the handler holding the horse accompanied by a Sr. handler.  In conjunction with the Stipendiary Stewards,  having viewed the video recording of the start of the race and relying on their own observation of the race, decided to overrule the objection and the order of placing remained unchanged. 

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

TRAIL BLAZER was observed to have an injury on its right hind fetlock, its mouth was examined and no abnormality was detected.

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

ASHWA ANKARA sustained a left eye injury (sore).

 

RACE NO.2 (67) – THE STAR FUTURE PLATE: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 5

 

At the start, EXUMA (N. S. Parmar, dr.1) jumped outwards and made contact with ENDURANCE (Yash Narredu, dr.2).

 

At the start, BUBBLY BOY (Neeraj Rawal, dr.4) jumped outwards onto YOUREMANORBORNE (A. Ashhad Asbar, dr.5).

 

Approaching the 400 metres, GOLDEN DANCER (App. Ramswarup) shifted in and went across EXUMA (N. S. Parmar). After questioning and not being satisfied, App, Ramswarup has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

YOUREMANORBORNE, BUBBLY BOY & EXUMA were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (68) – THE FIELD MARSHAL SAM MANEKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY- DIVISION I :  (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 10

 

At the start, ENSKY (C. Umesh, dr.3) jumped outwards at the same time ORGANISED CHAOS (App. Ramswarup dr.6) leaned inwards thereby tightening and inconveniencing AZAADI (Antony Raj S., dr.4) and ETOILE (App. A. Omkar, dr.5) drawn between them. After questioning all concerned and not  being satisfied with the explanation tendered by App. Ramswarup, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

At the start, HEAVEN’S RHYTHM (S. J. Sunil, dr.10) jumped out awkwardly.

 

Soon after the start, VINCERO (S. Mosin) travelled wide for no apparent reason thereby carrying ADONIS (App. Haridas Gore) and MARATHA ADMIRAL (N. S. Parmar) outwards. Jockey S. Mosin has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 800 meters, AZAADI (Antony Raj S.) in an effort to settle his mount veered out thereby bumping and forcing LATIOS (S. G. Prasad) outwards due to this incident ETOILE (App. A. Omkar) racing on their haunches had to be steadied. Jockey Antony Raj S. has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 300 metres, SANTANA ROW (C. S. Jodha) shifted out and made contact with ORGANISED CHAOS (App. Ramswarup). Jockey C. S. Jodha has been cautioned.

 

After the race, the Jockeys reported the following:

 

Jockey S. G. Prasad (LATIOS) reported that his mount was shying away from the other runners and was inclined outwards in the straight, despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Aman Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

HEAVEN’S RHYTHM was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not permitted to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. As such, the filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race. Further, it was also observed that the filly had lost its right hind shoe and  had an injury on its right mandible.

 

AZAADI was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its right fore bulb  of heel.

 

LATIOS was observed to have an injury on its right hind fetlock, the mouth was examined and no abnormality was detected.

 

RACE NO.4 (69) – THE SEPTEMBER HANDICAP: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 5

 

THE OLIVE CROWN (R. Ajinkya, dr.5) took a fly jump at the start.

 

At the start, VICTORY FAIR (App. Ramswarup, dr.3) was marginally slow to begin and brushed the haunches of WISE APPROACH (C. S. Jodha, dr.4).

 

Passing the 400 metres, Yash Narredu (MAHAGONY) was observed to have forced a passage thereby bumping and forcing WISE APPROACH (C. S. Jodha) outwards who in turn shifted out and made contact with THE OLIVE CROWN (R. Ajinkya), thereafter MAHAGONY further shifted out and went across WISE APPROACH. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey Yash Narredu has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, the Jockeys reported the following:

 

App. Ramswarup (VICTORY FLAIR) reported the loss of his whip passing the 200 metres. This being his second instance during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has been fined Rs. 2,000/-.

 

Jockey R. Ajinkya (THE OLIVE CROWN) reported that his whip got stuck in the final stages of the race. As such, no action has been initiated and he has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Akshay Kumar (CHILTON LODGE) reported that his mount was not galloping fluently, the filly was subject to veterinary examination and found to be sound.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

CHILTON LODGE was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

THE OLIVE CROWN was observed to have an injury on its left hind pastern.

 

RACE NO.5 (70) – THE FIELD MARSHAL SAM MANEKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY- DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 9

 

Before the race, in the saddling enclosure Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha requested the Club’s Sr. V.O., to examine SIR CHURCHILL as the gelding got casted in the stable. After examination, the Club’s Sr. V.O. found a bruise on its left knee and on the right fore fetlock. Further  the gelding trotted sound and was certified fit to race.

 

On arrival at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey Akshay Kumar, SIR CHURCHILL was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was observed to have an injury on its tongue due to the tongue strap. As such, the tongue strap was removed , retied and the gelding was certified fit to race.

 

GO TONTO (K. Pranil, dr.4) was reluctant to be stalled. As such, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, LUCKY DIAMOND (Neeraj Rawal dr.7) jumped inwards and went across MOTHER’S GIFT (Yash Narredu, dr.6) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

SIR CHURCHILL was observed to have a gum injury and an injury in its right nostril.

 

MOTHER’S GIFT was trotted and found to be sound but was observed to have an injury on its left hind fetlock.

 

LUCKY DIAMOND was observed to have a cut injury above its left hock.

 

RACE NO.6 (71) – THE SOUTHERN COMMAND GOLD TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

After being stalled, MANUEL (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr.2) was fractious and reared up. As such, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race 

 

At the start, SNOW GIRL (R. Ajinkya, dr.5) jumped inwards onto EL NINO (Yash Narredu dr.4) thereby starting a chain reaction due to which SKY BOUND (C. S. Jodha dr.3) and MANUEL (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr.2) were inconvenienced and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu, EL NINO reported his mount was shying away from the other runners despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Rajesh Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported the following:

 

LOYALA LOVER sustained a right eye injury (sore) with ulcer.

 

RACE NO.7 (72) – THE COL. KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1600 METRES – RUNNERS - 12

 

At the start, ABHYANKAR (App. Vishal, dr.3) jumped outwards onto BLACK THUNDER (App. Haridas Gore, dr.4).

 

At the start, SAVAGE PEACOCK (R. Ajinkya, dr.8) jumped inwards at the same time LION HEART (Akshay Kumar, dr.7) jumped outwards and they made contact.

 

At the start, FLOYD (S. J. Sunil, dr.12) jumped inwards onto COME SEPTEMBER (App. Avinash Paswan, dr.11).

 

Soon after the start, ACROPOLIS (A. Prakash) leaned in, brushed the haunches of SAVAGE PEACOCK (R. Ajinkya) thereafter shifted out and went onto AGEAN SEA (K. Pranil) who in turn shifted out thereby inconveniencing COME SEPTEMBER (App. Avinash Paswan).

 

Passing the 200 metres, SIXTY FOUR SQUARES (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out under urgings and went across FLOYD (S. J. Sunil). After questioning and not being satisfied Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, the Jockeys reported the following:

 

Jockey R Ajinkya (SAVAGE PEACOCK) reported that his mount was not galloping fluently and hung-in in the straight, despite his efforts, the gelding was subject to veterinary examination and found to be sound.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

COME SEPTEMBER was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. As such, the mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

SAVAGE PEACOCK was trotted and found to be sound.

 

AEGEAN SEA was trotted at the stables and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8 (73) – THE SPEARHEAD PLATE: (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 8

 

At the start, ENRICH (Yash Narredu, dr.8) jumped, veered out and had to be steadied.

 

At the start, ALEXIOS (Antony Raj S., dr.4) jumped outwards at the same time EXOTIC STAR (S. Mosiin, dr.6) jumped inwards thereby tightening AGE OF REASON (Neeraj Rawal, dr.5) drawn between for them.

 

Soon after the start, CARADOC (Akshay Kumar) leaned outwards thereby bumping and forcing ANTINO (App. Vishal) outwards onto ALEXIOS (Antony Raj S.). Jockey Akshay Kumar has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 200 metres, ALEXIOS (Antony Raj S.) was observed to have been inclined inwards, despite the rider’s efforts and in the process leaned in onto CASSPIAN (Prashant P. Dhebe) on more than one occasion. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey Antony Raj S. (ALEXIOS) was observed to have used the whip in an improper manner in the final stages of the race. This being his first offence during the current Pune Meeting 2026, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, the Sr. Veterinary Officer reported the following:

 

ENRICH was trotted and found to be sound.

 

After the race, at the request of Trainer M. Narredu, endoscopy was performed on ENRICH and no abnormality was found.

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 3rd, 5th, 6th & 7th race, viz. ENSKY, STARIA, NORAIAH & ABHYANKAR and the special samples of YOUREMANORBORNE (2nd race), AZAADI (3rd race), MOTHER’S GIFT (5th race) & SAVAGE PEACOCK (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
