RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES WIDE FROM 2000 METRES TO 1800 METRES. THERE AFTER RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer Arti Doctor, permission was granted to Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed to saddle her charge THIRD AVENUE in the 5th race, at her own (Trainer Arti Doctor’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (18) – THE RONIN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES – RUNNERS -  8

 

SUPREME SPIRIT (C. Umesh, dr.3) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

OPERATION FINALE (P. S. Kaviraj, dr.8) played up in the stalls as such the gelding was taken out and was examined by the Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, GODDES OF DAWN (App. N. Bhosale, dr.4) jumped outwards brushing the gates thereby bumping COLLATERAL (R. Shelar, dr.5) thereafter JETFIRE (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.6) leaned inwards and made contact with COLLATERAL who had to be steadied.

 

Before passing the red marker, SUPREME SPIRIT (C. Umesh) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening, inconveniencing FIDATO (App. Mustakim Alam) and MI ARION (Vishal N. Bunde) causing both the horses to be checked. After questioning and not being satisfied, Jockey C. Umesh has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Approaching the 900 metres, COLLATERAL (R. Shelar) veered out thereby carrying OPERATION FINALE (P. S. Kaviraj) outwards.

 

Passing the 900 metres, GODDES OF DAWN (App. N. Bhosale) leaned inwards and made contact with FIDATO (App. Mustakim Alam).

 

After the race, Mr. Kapil Bahl, part owner of GODDES OF DAWN had expressed his dissatisfaction with the riding of App. N. Bhosale on GODDES OF DAWN. As such, an enquiry has been initiated into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, OPERATION FINALE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (19) –  THE UNICORN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

At the request of Trainer Subhag Singh, MARLBORO MAN was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 09:30 a.m. on 2nd August 2024, at the stables and was found with severe dehydration and congested mucus membrane, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was permitted to be withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Vinod (UZI) reported that passing the 200 metres his reins slipped momentarily. Jockey P. Vinod has been asked to be more careful in the future.

 

After the race, PRINCE O’ WAR was trotted and found to be sound and TOOFAAN was found to have an injury on both fore, bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.3 (20) – THE AUGUST HANDICAP: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS -  14

 

AAFREEN (Haridas Gore, dr.5) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, STALIN (Akshay Kumar, dr.7) jumped outwards at the same time THUNDERING PHOENIX (C. S. Jodha, dr.8) jumped inwards and they made contact.

 

After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha (THUNDERING PHOENIX) reported that his mount was running green and lugged-in in the straight, despite his efforts. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, DULARI, MIGHTY SPARROW & READY TO RUMBLE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4 (21) – THE HIGHLAND CROWN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES –RUNNERS- 14

 

On arrival at the starting gates, at the request of Jockey Vivek G., MARCUS was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O., who certified him fit to race.

 

At the start, CONNEXION (S. J. Sunil, dr.5) threw its head up.

 

At the start, LORD ERIC (Akshay Kumar, dr.2) jumped outwards and went across PYSCHIC STAR (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr.3).

 

It was observed that LORD ERIC (Akshay Kumar) was momentarily held up for room until approaching the 250  metres.

 

After the race, App. Kirtish Bhagat (PSYCHIC STAR) reported that approaching the 900 metres his mount shied outwards and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, MARCUS was trotted and found to be sound and WE STILL BELIEVE was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ZENDAYA had both eye injuries (sore) and CONNEXION had both eye injuries (sore).

 

RACE NO.5 (22) – THE WINFAIR247 EVE CHAMPION TROPHY  (Grade 3): (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 7

 

EVALDO (A.Sandesh, dr. 4) lost about a length at the start,

 

Approaching the 300 metres, THIRD AVENUE (C. Umesh) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing RULING DYNASTY (Neeraj Rawal) causing the latter to be checked. After questioning Jockey C. Umesh stated that his mount was hanging in despite his efforts. Trainer Arti Docor has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race and Jockey C. Umesh has been cautioned for the future.

 

RACE NO.6 (23) –  THE ALTAF HUSSAIN TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS - 13

 

CAREGIVER (K. Nazil, dr.11) lost about two lengths at the start.

 

FALSETTO (P. Vinod, dr.10) and GOOD DEEDS (App. Haridas Gore, dr.5) took a fly jump at the start.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres, PURE FOR SURE (Neeraj Rawal) leaned inwards and made contact with EARTH (A. Sandesh) causing the latter to lose its footing and be steadied.

 

Passing the 500 metres, GOOD DEEDS (App. Haridas Gore) shifted out onto HILMA KLINT (App. S. Saba) thereby carrying the latter outwards.

 

After the race, RED MERLOT was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was found to be sore by right fore. The gelding has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, EARTH, HILMA KLINT & GOOD DEEDS were trotted and found to be sound and VILLANELLE was observed to have lost its right hind shoe.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that EARTH had both eye injuries (sore).

 

RACE NO.7 (24) –  THE PARISIAN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS - 11

 

BIG RED (Antony Raj S., dr.9) and CHAT (C. Umesh, dr.11) lost about two lengths each at the start.

 

At the start, RICOCHET (Neeraj Rawal, dr.1) jumped outwards and went across ANGELO (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr.2) causing the latter to be steadied.

 

After the race, App. Kirtish Bhagat (ANGELO) reported that he was denied a clear passage in the straight.

 

After the race, Jockey Vishal N. Bunde (EATON SQUARE) reported that the saddle used on his mount had slipped during the race due to which he could not ride out his mount to full advantage in the straight. This being the first instance of faulty saddling during the current Pune Meeting 2024, Tr. M. Narredu has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, the Sr. V.O. reported that MURWARA PRINCESS was found to be in distress at the saddling yard. Accordingly the first aid treatment was given and the mare was recovered

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 4th & 6th race, viz. THUNDERING PHOENIX, LORD ERIC & VILLANELLE, and the special samples of JENDAYI (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

 

The urine and blood samples of the LEO THE LION (Winner – 2nd race) & DYF (2nd place – 5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

 

The urine, blood and nasal swabs samples of the EVALDO (Winner – 5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

REMINISCENCE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
