RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 9 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 2000 METRES UPTO 1600 METRES AND TAPERING DOWN TO 3 METRES UPTO 1400 METRES AT THE BACK STRETCH
RACE NO.1 (19) – THE ARTS PLATE : (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners
SHIVALIK PRINCESS (R. Shelar) and ALFONSO (Bhawani Singh) were restless in the stall and not allowing their riders to settle. Trainers C. D. Katrak and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, ZABROK (Yash Narredu, dr. 5) and CHIVALROUS KNIGHT (App. H. Zeeshan, dr. 3) shifted in and out respectively, due to which ROYAL ÉCLAIR (T. S. Jodha, dr. 4) was inconvenienced.
Soon after the start, DECCAN KING (Vikram Jodha) shifted in onto ROYAL ÉCLAIR (T. S. Jodha) who had to be steadied. Jockey Vikram Jodha has been cautioned.
Approaching 800 metres, Jockey T. S. Jodha (ROYAL ECLAIR), in an effort to settle his mount, shifted out on to SUDARSHAN CHAKRA (N. B. Kuldeep).
After the race, ROYAL ÉCLAIR was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock and ALFONSO had a gum injury.
RACE NO.2 (20) – THE STRENGTHTOSTRENGTH TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – 4 Runners – NO REPORT
RACE NO.3(21) – THE RADIANT PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners
At the start, MAD HATTER (N. S. Parmar) jumped out awkwardly.
At the start, WINNING GIRL (Kishore Kadam, dr. 8) shifted out and made contact with WAY AHEAD (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 9).
Approaching 800 metres, WAY AHEAD (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and at the same time MAD HATTER (N. S. Parmar) shifted out thereby tightening NAME OF THE GAME (Sandeep Jadhav) and AAMERICAN AGATTA (Bhawani Singh).
Approaching 200 metres, BULLDOZER (C. S. Jodha) shifted in thereby inconveniencing ALIBOXER (Dashrath Singh).
Passing 200 metres, ALTUS (App. Parbat Singh) shifted in thereby inconveniencing BULLDOZER (C. S. Jodha). App. Parbat Singh has been cautioned.
After the race, ALTUS was trotted and found to be sound. BULLDOZER had an abrasion at the right hind fetlock and WINNING GIRL had a bruise at the left hind coronet.
RACE NO.4 (22) – THE P.HADOW TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 5 Runners
At the start, THE CHAMP (P. S. Chouhan,dr. 4) shifted in cutting across BOLD APPEAL (David Breux, dr. 3) who had to be steadied.
Soon after the start, HARVEY (Yash Narredu, dr.5) shifted in and made contact with THE CHAMP (P. S. Chouhan, dr.4).
Passing 200 metres, SYDNEY HARBOUR (Dashrath Singh) was observed to have lugged in thereby inconveniencing PARAMOUR (A. Sandesh) along the rails. On questioning, Jockey Dashrath Singh stated that his mount was hanging-in in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, PARAMOUR was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, HARVEY was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(23) – THE RUBEN STAR PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners
Jockey A. Sandesh (PHOENIX KNIGHT) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for handing over the saddle late to the Trainer thereby causing a delay in the horse leaving the paddock.
The saddle used on NIOBRARA (App. G. Amit) was observed to have slipped during the race. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty saddling.
RACE NO.6(24) – THE POTENTIAL CHAMPION TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners
At the start ARAGON (Suraj Narredu, dr.3) jumped and shifted out on to MY BLESSINGS (Dashrath Singh, dr.4), who in turn went on to BRAZOS (N. S. Parmar, dr.5) who had to be steadied.
Jockey Dashrath Singh (MY BLESSINGS) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for the improper use of the whip on his mount.
After the race, MY BLESSINGS was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock and SHAOQING had an abrasion at the left hind pastern.
RACE NO.7(25) – THE RUBEN STAR PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners
At the start, NATURE BOY (App. S. A. Amit, dr.5) jumped outwards and made contact with ENTHRALLING (Suraj Narredu, dr.6), who in turn shifted out on to, CANNONBALL RUN (Dashrath Singh, dr.7) and at the same time DESERT RAGE (N. B. Kuldeep, dr. 9) jumped inwards, due to which SUNNY SEA (Kishore Kadam, dr. 8) was tightened and had to be steadied.
After the race, Jockey N. B. Kuldeep (DESERT RAGE) reported that his mount brushed the gates while jumping out, due to which he had lost his stirrups which he regained about 100 metres after the start.
After the race, SUNNY SEA was trotted and found to be sound, but having an abrasion at both fore fetlocks. DON CORLEONE had an abrasion at the left hind cannon.
RACE NO.8 (26) – THE HURRICANE PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 12 Runners
At the start JESTER (J.Chinoy, dr.11) jumped out awkwardly.
Soon after the start TONTERIA (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in thereby inconveniencing HURACAN (N. B. Kuldeep) who had to be steadied.
Approaching 1200 metres, Jockey Kavraj Singh (KOAL), in an effort to settle his mount, dropped back on to ACHIEVE (Santosh G), forcing the latter to be checked.
After the race, ACHIEVE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
After the race, CELESTIAL LIGHT, JESTER and FROSTY were trotted and found to be sound. TONTERIA had a cut injury at the right hind pastern.
The post race urine sample of the winners of all races viz. SIMON SAYS (1st race), B FIFTY TWO (2nd race), AAMERICAN AGATTA (3rd race), THE CHAMP (4th race), NIOBRARA (5th race), GREEK GODDESS (6th race), ZAHRAZAN (7th race) and CAVALIA (8th race) and the special sample of ALFONSO (1st race) and ACHIEVE (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 6th August, 2016 considered appeal from Trainer Nirad Karanjawala in the above connection. The Stewards considered all papers and proceedings before them including his grounds of appeal and having heard Tr. Nirad Karanjawalla and having viewed the video of Race No.313 and Race No.241 and having deliberated the matter, decided to reject the appeal.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 6th August, 2016 considered Mercy Petition from Mr.Ramesh D.Oswal in the above connection. The Stewards considered all papers and proceedings before them and having heard Mr.Ramesh D.Oswal and having deliberated the matter, decided to reject the Mercy Petition.

RE: HORSE INELIGIBLE FOR STABLING DURING THE PUNE MEETING 2016, FOUND IN CLUB’S STABLE.
During the stable inspection by the Club’s Officials on 30th July, 2016, ch m DIVINE ANGEL (an ineligible horse for stabling during the Pune Meeting), trained by Mr.C. D. Katrak was found to have been stabled in the Club’s stable. As such, a fine was levied upon Trainer C. D. Katrak for stabling an ineligible horse in the Club’s stables and he was given a period of seven days to have the said horse vacate the Club’s stable. However, Trainer C. D. Katrak failed to comply with the directive, as such, he has been fined a further sum of Rs. 15,000/- and again given a period of seven days to move the above mentioned horse out of the Club’s stable.
