RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 7 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(41) – THE DESERT LIGHTNING PLATE : (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 4

SENOR HILL (Shrikant Kamble) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

After the race, DREAMS OF YOU, BONOBO and SENOR HILL were found to be sound.

RACE NO.2(42) – THE ETNA PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 5

ADAMS PRINCE was withdrawn on compassionate grounds.

After the race, EDGE OF GLORY was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, HIGH RETURNS was found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(43) – THE SIR CHARLES FORBES TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 6

After the race, WINGS OF GLORY was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.4(44) – THE NAUVKHAL PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 9

MAHIMA (R.Shelar) jumped out slow losing about 3 lengths at the start.

RACE NO.5(45) – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 7

An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of AWESOME SMILE and MOUNTAIN SONG and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, TITLEIST was found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(46) – THE FREE RADICAL PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 13

CALYPSO QUEEN (Neeraj Rawal) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Passing 1000 metres, EARTH ORBIT (Hanumant Singh) shifted in and carried STAR PRINCE (J.Chinoy) inwards, who in turn carried SPEED UP (Satish Nayak) in, who inconvenienced MIRACLE OF MERCY (Kavraj Singh). Jockey Hanumant Singh has been cautioned.

Near 600 metres, MIRACLE OF MERCY (Kavraj Singh) dropped back and in doing so, SONG SAA (S.Zervan) who was following on the inside of MIRACLE OF MERCY, shifted in and tightened ESSENCE OF LOVE (S.P.Ranjane).

RACE NO.7(47) – THE BLUE PENCIL PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 8

SMART RAIDER (App.S.Mosin) and CUMBRE VIEJA (Shrikant Kamble) were reluctant to be stalled. Trainers Karthik G. and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

At the start, ARTISTE (J.Fortune, dr.4) leaned outwards and inconvenienced SAY WHEN (Altaf Sayyed, dr.5).

Passing 200 metres, ARTISTE (J.Fortune) shifted out when ridden to progress in the race and carried SAY WHEN (Altaf Sayyed) outwards. Jockey J.Fortune has been cautioned.

App S.Mosin (SMART RAIDER) has been cautioned for unnecessary use of whip on his mount in the straight.

After the race, SAY WHEN was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock. GYAHANA and SMART RAIDER (examined on 06/12/2013) were found to be sound.

RACE NO.8(48) – THE FREE RADICAL PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 13

Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been fined Rs.2,000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing in respect of her charge ACHIEVE wherein the gelding was declared to have Aluminium, Both Hind High Heels, but on examination it was found to have plain Aluminium.

Trainer Nazak Chenoy has been fined Rs.1,000/- for racing her charge ACHIEVE in bandages on the hind legs when she had obtained permission to use the bandages on the fore legs .

At the start, SEVEN SEAS (Dharmendar, dr.6) jumped awkwardly outwards and at the same time WIND CRAFT (S.P.Ranjane, dr.8) jumped awkwardly inwards, due to which ICE SKATES (App.Prasad, dr.7) was tightened. As SEVEN SEAS regained balance, the gelding shifted in and made contact with PROTECTOR OF PARIS (S.Zervan, dr.5) who had also shifted out. As PROTECTOR OF PARIS was steadied, the gelding shifted in and jostled with DREAMLAND (J.Pradeep, dr.4).

At the start, EARTH TAMER (Hanumant Singh, dr.12) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to ICE AGE (App.Sandeep Jadhav, dr.11).

After the race, DREAMLAND was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, MARENGO and MR MORRISON were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 3^rd, 5^th, 7^th and 8^th race viz. ROSIE SUNSHINE, FORTUNE HUNTER, MISS MIRACLE and PROTECTOR OF PARIS, and the special sample of WINGS OF GLORY (3^rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
