RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM  ITS ORIGINAL POINT AT 1200 METRES AND THEREAFTER 4 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 3.5 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

Had a fall in the 1st race

 

RACE NO.1(113) –  THE CAPRIOLE PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1200 Metres – 13 Runners

 

NATIVE PRINCE (App.Gagandeep Mann) jumped out slow losing considerable ground at the start. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its his previous start, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SUSIE Q (App. Niranjan S. Parmar) jumped outwards and had to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 700 metres, THEOBROMA (App. Malam Singh) was observed to have stumbled of its own thereby dislodging the rider. Due to this incident, TEODOR MONTE (N.B.Kuldeep) and SAMURAI (App.K.Pranil) had to be checked.  

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that THEOBROMA dropped the rider approaching the 700 metres and stopped at the 400 metres marker. On examination, it was found that the mare had a fractured shoulder.  With the consent of the Trainer, the mare was euthanized on humane grounds.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ROMANTIC EYES had left eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation, corneal opacity).

 

After the race, MAESTRO was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(114) –  THE FOURTH ESTATE TROPHY : (About) 1800 Metres – 6 Runners

 

AKINA SPEED STAR (Yash Narredu) played up as the start was given and jumped out slow losing a length at the start.

 

Approaching the 100 metres, SEA THE DREAM (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in under pressure thereby tightening BRILLIANT GOLD (C. S. Jodha)  along the rails, causing the latter to be checked. After questioning, Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that AKINA SPEED STAR had right eye injury (corneal ulcer).

 

RACE NO.3(115) –  THE D.N.ZODGE PLATE  : (About) 1400 Metres –  6 Runners

 

After being stalled, SAGITTARIUS (App.Niranjan S.Parmar) reared up and put one of its fore leg on the front gates. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (ZENON) reported that his mount hung-in throughout the race despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, ZENON was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ZENON had left eye injury (sore, lacrimation) and BESHIKTASH had right eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation).

After the race, SAGITTARIUS and ZENON were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(116) –  THE PUNE CANTONMENT BOARD TROPHY  : (About) 2000 Metres –  9 Runners

 

After being stalled,  POWER OF THOR  (App.K.Nazil) tried to duck the front gate momentarily. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

SILVER KING (S.Zervan) jumped out slow losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ARRECIFE had left eye injury (corneal opacity and sore eye) and CLASSICUS had left eye injury (sore eye).

 

After the race, SILVER KING was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(117) –  THE DAKSHIN MAHARASHTRA & GOA SUB-AREA TROPHY :

(About) 1200 Metres – 14 Runners

 

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.5,000/- for failing to declare his charge SHADOWS in this race after having accepted with him.

 

At the start, PERIWINKLE (N. S. Parmar, dr.11) jumped outwards on to OFFICER IN COMMAND (Neeraj Rawal, dr.12).

 

At the start, BRAVE (App. Aniket Karande, dr.5) jumped outwards on to ROMANTIC WARRIOR (Akshay, dr.6).

 

From the 200 metres onwards, EN SABAH NUR (C. S. Jodha) was inclined outwards and carried POLYNEICES (Yash Narredu) outwards. After the race, Jockey C.S.Jodha reported that his mount hung out despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Approaching the 100 metres, HIGHLAND WOODS (N. B. Kuldeep) shifted in under urgings and went across FURIOSA (App. Niranjan S. Parmar) who had to be steadied. After questioning, Jockey N. B. Kuldeep has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (POLYNEICES) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Nosher Cama has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that EN SABAH NUR had left eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation) and OSPREY ARROW had right eye injury (sore eye).

 

After the race, OFFICER IN COMMAND was trotted and found to be sound but having a cut injury at the right hind coronet. Also, the gelding had lost its left fore shoe. BRAVE was observed to have lost its right fore shoe.

 

RACE NO.6(118) –  THE AQUAMARINE PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 10 Runners

 

AURORA AUSTRALIS (Amyn Merchant) was slow to begin and thereafter refused to raise a fluent gallop and ran detached from the field. In view of this behavior, Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards before next accepting with him to race.

 

After the race, GENTILLESSE, AURORA AUSTRALIS and NOTTING HILL were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(119) –  THE  CAPRIOLE PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 13 Runners

 

At the start SO SPLENDID (N.B.Kuldeep, dr.8) jumped inwards and went across DIREWOLF (App.Niranjan S Parmar, dr.7) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Soon after the start, ABRAXAS (App. M. Ayyar, dr.11) shifted in and went across AMERICAN ODESSEY (App. P. Vinod, dr.10), causing the latter to be checked. After questioning, App. M. Ayyar has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Approaching the 1000 metres,  JACK FLASH (App. K. Nazil) shifted in and went across AMERICAN ODESSEY (App. P. Vinod) causing the latter to be checked. App. K. Nazil has been suspended for 25th October, 2019 for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

Approaching the 200 metres, VERDANDI (App. A. Prakash) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening and inconveniencing ARABIAN MUKTAR (App. K. Pranil)  and ONE EYED PRINCESS (App. P. Shinde). After questioning,  App. A. Prakash has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that ISINIT had right eye injury (sore eye).

 

After the race, ADAMS BEGINNING was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind pastern. SO SPLENDID (examined on 06/10/2019) was found to be sound in the trot.

The urine samples of the winner of the 3rd, 4th and 7th race viz. AUGUSTUS CAESAR, GDANSK and VERDANDI, and the special sample of ZENON (3rd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : RACE NO.93 –  THE  GREAT SECRET PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 15TH SEPTEMBER, 2019 :

 

Jockey Santosh G (SAFFRON FLOWER) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the Pune meeting 2019, he has been fined Rs.3,000/- and not Rs.5,000/- as incorrectly mentioned in the race day reports of 15th September, 2019.
