RACE DAY REPORTS
FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 2.5 METRES WIDE FROM 1600 METRES TILL THE WINNING POST.
On a request from Trainer J.S.Dhariwal, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charge ARISTOS in the 6th race, at his (Trainer J.S.Dhariwal‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO 1. (125) THE GLASNOST PLATE : (About) 2000 Metres. Runners – 9
MAGICAL MANTRA (C.S.Jodha) was inclined to lug-in in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, EQUALITY & STRAUSS were found to be sound.
RACE NO 2. (126) THE MYSTIC MEMORY TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners - 4
MIGHTY CRUSADER (Imran Chisty) was inclined to lug-in in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, MIGHTY CRUSADER, SEA QUEEN & STAR WARRIOR were found to be sound.
RACE NO 3. (127) THE AIR STRIKE PLATE - DIV II :(About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 12
Soon after the start, KITE RUNNER (C.S.Jodha) shifted in and hampered SOLID BLACK (App.M.A.Roushan), who was checked. Jockey C.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
Passing 1000 metres, EYE OF THE STORM (C.Rajendra) was tightened while racing on the inside of MARINE ZONE (N.S.Parmar). Since the incident was accidental, no action has been taken against any Jockey.
Passing 600 metres, MARINE ZONE (N.S.Parmar) shifted in and caused interference to SIOOUX CHIEF (R.Shelar). Jockey N.S.Parmar has been fined Rs. 3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
Also, Jockey N.S.Parmar (MARINE ZONE) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
KITE RUNNER (C.S.Jodha) lugged out in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
After the race, ITSPIRITOFRACING and WINGS OF ANGELS were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. Both the horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, EYE OF THE STORM, EMERALD STAR, PRIME TIME, KITE RUNNER, MARINE ZONE & SIOOUX CHIEF were found to be sound. EYE OF THE STORM had an abrasion on the left hind bulb of heel
RACE NO 4. (128) THE COL. KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 10
PERPETUATION (App.D.Akkshay) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head up. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Soon after the start, GLORIOUS MISS (D.S.Rathore) shifted in sharply and went across the entire field, though no interference was caused to anyone. Jockey D.S.Rathore has been fined Rs.2000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.
After the race, TITAN, GLORIOUS MISS and BEEMER were observed to have broken a blood vessel and are not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. All the three horses have to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, LORD OF KILLARNEY was observed to have an abrasion on the left hind fetlock.
RACE NO 5. (129) THE PRIVE TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres. Runners - 19
Trainer Nana Raghunath has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting with his charge HURRICANE BIRD without having shown the horse to the satisfaction of the Starter before accepting to race. The horse was struck out at Acceptance stage.
GAURI (C.S.Jodha) was reluctant to be stalled. COGITO ERGO SUM (Neeraj Rawal) was restless in the stall and kept rearing up. Trainers Magansingh P.Jodha and Nosher Cama have been asked to give their respective charges more gate practice and to show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
CARIBBEAN QUEEN (S.Zervan) did not get a clear run in the early part of the race.
After the race, GLOWING STAR was found to be sound.
RACE NO 6. (130) THE SOUTHERN COMMAND GOLD TROPHY (GRADE 3) : (About) 1600 Metres. Runners -10
ECSTATICA (Dashrath Singh) was restless in the stall and thereafter jumped out awkwardly throwing its head up, thus losing about 3 lengths at the start. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
While straightening for home, IKARIA (Malcolm Kharadi) lugged in and made contact with HUGO (S.S.Baria). IKARIA continued to lug-in in the straight. Trainer Vinayak has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Near 300 metres, DIEGO RIVERA (B.Prakash) shifted out to progress in the race and at the same time IKARIA (Malcolm Kharadi) who was inclined to lug-in, shifted in, and in the process made contact with each other.
The Sr.V.O. reported that MR GREEDY was examined at about 6.30 p.m. and found to be sound. No clinical symptoms of Urticaria or rash were noticed on the horse, except old scar marks of bite injuries on the left side flank.
An enquiry has been initiated into the performance of MR GREEDY and a report will be submitted shortly.
RACE NO 7. (131) FIELD MARSHALL SAM MANECKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners - 13
An Objection was lodged by Jockey C.S.Jodha, Rider of FLAMES OF FIRE, Placed fourth, against Jockey Malcolm Kharadi, Rider of SMOKIN ACES, Placed second, for coming in and taking his ground in the straight and also bumping and boring into him.
After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Club’s Racing Advisor and Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over rule the Objection.
SMOKIN ACES (Malcolm Kharadi) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Altamash A.Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, ASHWA PAARTH was observed to have a clip injury on the right hind bulb of heel and SEA OF KISSES had an abrasion on the left hind fetlock. SMOKIN ACES & AQUALINA were found to be sound.
RACE NO 8. (132) THE AIR STRIKE PLATE - DIV I: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners - 13
At the start, AAJAA NACHLE (N.S.Parmar) threw her head up and tried to veer towards the outside, thereby losing ground. Trainer Altamash Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Jockey B.Praksah (SOLID ROCK) has been cautioned for shifting in and in the process going across ARABIAN CHAMP (R.Shelar) and TUDOR REGENT (D.K.Ashish) near 700 metres.
After the race, TUDOR REGENT, AAJAA NACHLE & FIERY FORTUNE were found to be sound. TYUMEN had a gum injury.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 3rd, 6th and 7th race viz. BARBARA, JUVENTUS and HIGHLAND BOUNTY as also that of DIEGO RIVERA & ECSTATICA (6th race) and the special sample of STRAUSS (1st race), STAR WARRIOR (2nd race), ITSPIRITOFRACING & WINGS OF ANGELS (3rd race) and TITAN, GLORIOUS MISS & BEEMER (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF dk b g “URBAN WARRIOR” (UNPLACED) IN RACE NO.79 – THE HAWKE BAY PLATE RUN ON SATURDAY, 21ST AUGUST, 2010 :
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 4th September, 2010 interviewed Tr.S.Shaikh regarding the positive report dated 2nd September, 2010, from the Equine Forensic Unit, U.A.E., in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge URBAN WARRIOR (Unplaced) in Race No.79 – The Hawke Bay Plate run on Saturday, 21st August, 2010 which read as under :-
“THE ANALYSIS HAS CONFIRMED THE PRESENCE OF BOLDENONE IN THIS SAMPLE”
At this meeting, Trainer S.Shaikh was handed over a copy of the above report and was requested to inform the Sr. Veterinary Officer of the Club, in writing, within five days of opening the envelope that identifies the sample, whether he wishes to sent the split sample for confirmatory analysis to H.F.L., New Market, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Lab or L A B, France, for Confirmatory analysis and also the name of the witnessing analyst, if any, failing which the Stewards shall treat the report of the primary laboratory as conclusive.
Tr.S.Shaikh was also asked to conduct his own enquiries and to lead evidence, if any, to prove mitigating circumstances, within 15 days and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr.V.O. of the Club, as and when he would be required to.
