RAILS WERE PLACED ONE METRE AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 500 METRES AND THEREAFTER AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT UPTO THE WINNING POST

 

On a request from Trainer Vinayak, permission was granted to Trainer Janardhan to saddle his charge HILLS AND STARS in the 7th race, at his (Trainer Vinayak‘s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (182) – THE  ANTIQUITY BLUE “FUSION OF THE FINEST’ CUP (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 17

 

Travelling some distance from the start, ARSHAVIN (C.S.Jodha) shifted inwards and made contact with CALYPSO QUEEN (Amyn Merchant). Jockey C.S.jodha has been cautioned.   

 

Near 800 metres, BLAU HIMMEL (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and went across CALYPSO QUEEN (Amyn Merhant). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

Passing 400 metres, RISING ASSET (Vivek) shifted out to progress in the race and in the process went on to MONEY STRIKE (Dashrath Singh) who in turn shifted out and took the running of TROPICAL ZONE (P.S.Chouhan) who received interference and while being steadied, made contact with LAST TANGO (A.Sandesh). The matter was reported to the Stewards.

 

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey Vivek for careless riding on RISING ASSET and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, resolved to suspend his Jockey’s license for 23rd February, 2012 (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

Jockey Vivek (RISING ASSET) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

Jockey Akash Agarwal (LAZOR RAZOR) was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being the third offence with regard to the use of the whip, the matter was reported to the Stewards. The Stewards interviewed Jockey Akash Agarwal and having heard him and having viewed the video recording of the race, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by him and decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 23rd February, 2012 to 26th February, 2012 (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race).

 

After the race, CALYPSO QUEEN and RISING ASSET were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2 (183)  – THE McDOWELL’S NO.1 PLATINUM TROPHY : (About) 2400 Metres – Runners – 9

 

Jockey Akash Agarwal (SHERIFF) reported the loss of whip near 250 metres.

 

In the final stages of the race, CARLYLE HILLS (A.Sandesh) lugged in and near 100 metres made contact with JEN’S GLORY (Neeraj Rawal). Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey Y.S.Srinath (FORTUNE HUNTER) reported that from 1800 metres he found his mount bolting away and then continued to lug out through out the race. Trainer S.Mangalorkar has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (APACHE INDIAN) has been fined Rs.3000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, FORTUNE HUNTER was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (184) – THE VLADIVAR CUP : (About) 1400 Metres - Runners – 12

 

On start, VIBGYOR (A.Sandesh) veered out and lost about 3 lengths. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.  

 

At the start, SCHOLAR (Dashrath Singh) fly jumped and was slow to begin. BATISTA (C.S.Jodha) began awkwardly. SCARFACE (T.S.Jodha) walked out of the Gates.

 

SILK CUT (Imran Chisty) was inclined to lug in under pressure. Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

SCARLET PIMPERNEL (Anthony Crastus) lugged inwards in the final 200 metres. Trainer P.Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey Stephane Pasquier (INCOGNITO) has been fined Rs.1000/- for improper use of the whip wherein he has used the whip in a fore hand position on the shoulder of his mount.

 

App.Prabu Naidu (ROYAL HIGHNESS) reported that approaching the Winning Post, the whip of Jockey Anthony Crastus (SCARLET PIMPERNEL) hit his left hand. Since the incidence was evident on the patrol vedio, no action has been initiated in to the matter.

 

RACE NO.4 (185)  – THE DALMORE CUP : (About) 1600 Metres - Runners – 10

 

SHEER ROMANCE (D.K.Ashish) and SUN SALUTATION (Y.S.Srinath) were reluctant to be stalled. Trainers Narendra Lagad and Imtiaz A.Sait have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey C.D. Hayes (RED BARON) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

Near 200 metres, CAPITAL ATTRACTION (R.Hughes) was steadied and switched to the inside of SUN SALUTATION (Y.S.Srinath), who lugged out at that stage.

 

After the race, SCARLATTI, SNOW ANGEL, MYLASTWISH and SUN SALUTATION were found to be sound. SUN SALUTATION had wolf tooth on either side. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures.

 

RACE NO.5 (186) – THE R.N.KANGA GOLD TROPHY : (About) 1600 Metres – Runners – 5

 

In the final stages, HARLAMOFF (Stephane Pasquier) was inconvenienced as ONASSIS (B.Prakash) shifted ground inwards and at the same time DEAR HENRY (S.A. De Souza) shifted outwards.

 

Jockey S.A. De Souza (DEAR HENRY) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, ONASSIS was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (187)  – THE B.K.RATTONSEY MEMORIAL MAIDEN MULTI-MILLION: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 12

 

Soon after the start, AUSTERITY (S.Zervan, dr.9) shifted in and went across SNOW CANNON (C.D.Hayes, dr.8). Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned. 

 

BELMONT (Y.S.Srinath) lugged out in the straight and in the process inconvenienced NASERIAN (David Allan). Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, ALECTO, BELMONT and NASERIAN were found to be sound.

 

EDWINA (B.Prakash) was placed fifth and BELMONT (Y.S.Srinath) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.7 (188) – THE McDOWELL SIGNATURE PREMIER INDIAN DERBY (GR.I) :  (About) 2400 Metres– Runners – 13

 

Near 600 metres, IN THE SPOTLIGHT (Martin Dwyer) shifted out to progress and in the process tightened KNIGHTON (Imran Chisty). Jockey Martin Dwyer has been cautioned.

 

PRONTO PRONTO (Y.S.Srinath) hung out and RANTHAMBHORE (C.S.Jodha) hung inwards, in the straight. Trainers Imtiaz A.Sait and Adhirajsingh Jodha have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.                    

 

After the race, FIELD MARSHAL was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PRONTO PRONTO was found to be sound.

 

ASTAPI (S.A.De Sousa) was placed fifth and PICASSO (Stephane Pasquier) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.8 (189) – THE ROYAL CHALLENGE “GAME FOR LIFE’ CHALLENGE:  (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 17

 

Near 1000 metres, TITLEIST (Akash Agarwal) shifted in possibly due to REIN IN SPAIN (A.Sandesh) shiting inwards, and caused COCCINELLA (S.Zervan) to shift in, who in turn hampered the running of SALT (Suraj Narredu). Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned for shifting inwards after the start.

 

Jockey Imran Chisty (SUGAR LOAF) reported that his saddle had titled marginally to one side during the race. After the race the saddle tilt was not observed by the Stipendiary Stewards and neither was it reported by the Jockey in the Paddock. Further, the Jockey was observed to have ridden out the horse. As such, no action was initiated in the matter.

 

Jockey V.Phadke (MOUNTAIN WIND) has been cautioned for using his whip, once, in a forehand position on the shoulder of his mount.

 

After the race, PALAZZO GRAZIOLI was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, HOCKENHEIM was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, COCCINELLA was observed to have an abrasion at the left nostril. FLYING KISS and TITLEIST were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9 (190) – THE ANTIQUITY BLUE ‘FUSION OF THE FINEST’ CUP (DIV.I) :  (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 18

 

DISTANT PROMISE (Akshay) reared up as the start was effected thus losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, O’PRINCESS (Dashrath Singh) jumped out throwing her head and was slow into strides.

 

Jockey Khalandar (BELLE BRISE) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

Trainer Shyam S.Habbu has been fined Rs.1000/- for taking away his charge STAFFAN (placed fourth) from the Paddock, before the All Clear was given.              

 

After the race, ASHWA APOLLO was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon. STAFFAN was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 2nd, 6th & 7th race, viz. LAURUS PRIDE, CLINTON, VICTORIOUS MARCH and IN THE SPOTLIGHT, as also that of BLUE ACE & NASERIAN (6th race) and SMASHING, FIELD MARSHALL and PRONTO PRONTO (7th race) and the special sample of SUN SALUTATION (4th race), ONASSIS (5th race) and PALAZZO GRAZIOLI (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substances.
