RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ORIGINAL POINT.

 

On a request from Trainer Shazaan Shah, permission was granted to Trainer Sangramsinh N. Joshi to saddle his charge SPIRIT BAY in the 9th race, at his own (Trainer Shazaan Shah’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1 (92) THE USHA STUD MILLION  (ABOUT) 1600 METRES. - RUNNERS - 7

 

After being stalled, CAPITOLIUM (Neeraj Rawal, dr.4) played up and hooked both his fore in the adjoining stall and casted himself in an awkward position as such the colt was withdrawn under coming starters order. In the process MI ARION (S. Saqlain, dr.6) brushed the front gate and came out. Accordingly, all the horses were taken out and the gates were tested. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 1300 metres, BIG RED racing on the haunches of JAMARI was hampered for room and shifted out thereby carrying MI ARION outwards.

 

After the race, Jockey Yash Narredu (SMILES OF FORTUNE) reported that his mount was very keen in the early part of the race and in his effort to settle he was inclined outwards.

 

After the race, BALIUS WARRIOR was trotted and found to be sound, MI ARION was observed to have a cut injury on left fore pastern.

 

RACE NO.2 (93) THE DIEGO RIVERA RUSI PATEL TROPHY (GRADE 3) (ABOUT) 1600 METRES - RUNNERS -  6

 

After being stalled, AHEAD OF MY TIME (A. Sandesh, dr.2) was fractious and reluctant to stall. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, COEUR DE LION was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3 (94) THE SIR HOMI MEHTA BREEDERS' PRODUCE STAKES (GRADE 3) (ABOUT) 1400 METRES  - RUNNERS - 6

 

Soon after the start, IRISH GOLD (S. Saqlain) leaned inwards and made contact with WAIKIKI (N. S. Parmar).

 

Soon after the start, ULTIMO (R. Ajinkya) shifted in and brushed the haunches of ENDURANCE (C. S. Jodha) and ricochet outwards.

 

Passing the 700 metres, IRISH GOLD (S. Saqlain) shifted out thereby bumping and forcing WAIKIKI (N. S. Parmar) outwards. After questioning and not being satisfied with the explanation, Jockey S. Saqlain has been fined Rs.2000/-.

 

RACE NO.4 (95) THE D & A REALTY ECLIPSE STAKES OF INDIA (GRADE 2) (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS - 6

RACE NO.5 (96)  THE B. K. RATTONSEY MEMORIAL MAIDEN MULTI-MILLION (ABOUT) 1200 METRES - RUNNERS - 8

 

After being stalled, PRIDE’S PRINCE (C. S. Jodha, dr.1) played up and hooked his both fore in the adjoining stall. In the process of unloading the bridle of the colt came out and the colt got loose. As such, the colt was withdrawn before coming under Starters order. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the colt to the Satisfaction of Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, DEMOCRACY (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in onto DREAM SELLER (R. Ajinkya) who in turn shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing SHE’S A TEASER (S. Saqlain). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Bhawani Singh (THE GENERAL) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his first offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2022/2023, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, THE GENERAL was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6 (97) THE INDIAN DERBY (GRADE 1) -  (ABOUT) 2400 METRES -  RUNNERS -  19

 

At the request of Trainer James E. Mckeown, KING LOUIS was examined in the stable area at 9:00 am on 2/02/2023 and at 9:30 am on 04/02/2023 and was found have soreness in left tendon, as such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

The Sr. V.O. reported that LAST WISH ran with bandages on both fore, permission for the same was not obtained. As such, Trainer Neil B. Devaney has been fined Rs.1,000/- for his lapse.

 

At the start, GOLDEN NEIL (J. Chinoy, dr.10) jumped inwards and at the same time ASHWA MAGADHEERA (Yash Narredu, dr.6) jumped outwards onto PLACE VENDOME (P. S. Kaviraj, dr.7) forcing it out as a result of which SHAMROCK (Surraj Narredu, dr.8) drawn between them was tightened and had to be checked.

 

At the start, PHILOSOPHY (S. Saqlain, dr.12) jumped inwards and brushed the haunches of FORTUNATE SON (Prashant P. Dhebe, dr.11).

 

Passing the 600 metres, SUPERNATURAL (P. Trevor) shifted in thereby tightening and inconveniencing LAST WISH (P. Ajeeth Kumar) causing the latter to check and drop back onto IMPERIAL POWER (Y. S. Srinath). Jockey P. Trevor has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 400 metres, WALL STREET (Akshay Kumar) racing on the haunches of RAVISHING FORM (Imran Chisty) was denied a clear passage and had to check and change course

 

Approaching the 300 metres, KING’S RANSOM (P. S. Chouhan) shifted in sharply and went across MOJITO (N. S. Parmar), PHILOSOPHY (S. Saqlain) and DYF (Neeraj Rawal). Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been cautioned.

 

RACE NO.7 (98) THE COROMANDEL GROMOR MILLION  (ABOUT) 1200 METRES - RUNNERS - 10

 

At the start, RAFFAELLO (S. Saqlain, dr.2) jumped outwards and at the same time SON OF A GUN (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.4) jumped inwards due to which MAGILETO (N. S. Parmar, dr.3) drawn between them was tightened and had to be checked.

 

After the race, BABY BAZOOKA & EMPEROR RODERIC were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8 (99) THE RACE2WIN.COM MILLION (ABOUT) 1400 METRES - RUNNERS - 14

 

DALASAN (S. J. Sunil, dr.1) jumped out slowly losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

After being stalled, FLASH FORCE (S. P. Ranjane, dr.2) was restless and not allowing his rider to settle. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at the morning starting trails, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, LORD FENICIA (Akshay Kumar, dr.4) jumped inwards thereby starting a chain reaction due to which EXCELLENT STAR (Amyn Merchant, dr.3), FLASH FORCE (S. P. Ranjane, dr.2) & DALASAN (S. J. Sunil, dr.1) were all inconvenienced.

 

At the start, TYRONE BLACK (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.6) jumped and veered outwards and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey R. Ajinkya (NELSON RIVER) reported that his mount was inclined outwards in the straight. Trainer Rehanullah Khan asked been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

App. Mustakim Alam (TYRONE BLACK) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. This being his 1st offence during the current Mumbai Meeting 2022/23, he has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, NELSON RIVER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9 (100) THE NORTHALLEY MILLION (ABOUT) 1200 METRES - RUNNERS -14

 

On a representation from the Jockeys stating that due to severe Smog leading to poor visibility it was difficult to ride. The Stewards of the Club held a meeting on even date and having heard the Jockeys and a few Trainers that were present. After having deliberated, keeping in mind the interest and safety of the horses and riders decided to cancel the last race of the day.

The urine and blood samples of the JAMARI (Winner – 1st race), NORTHERN LIGHTS (Winner – 2nd race), AHEAD OF MY TIME (2nd place – 2nd race), IRISH GOLD (Winner – 3rd race), SEA THE SUN (2nd place – 3rd race), JULIETTE (Winner – 4th race), FOREST FLAME (2nd place – 4th race), FIGHTON (Winner – 5th race), KING’S RANSOM (2nd place – 6th race), WALL STREET (3rd place – 6th race), EMPEROR RODERIC (Winner – 7th race) & SAN SALVATORE (Winner - 8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance. However, only urine samples were sent for analysis.

 

The urine and blood samples of the winner of the 6th race, viz. MIRRA, were collected and sent for the analysis of detection of prohibited substances.
