RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF GOLDEN SPURS IN RACE NO.29 – THE FURIOSO PLATE RUN ON THURSDAY, 24TH NOVEMBER, 2011 :

The Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 4th December, 2011 considered the evidence obtained by the Stipendiary Stewards in the above enquiry. Having interviewed Trainer H.J.Antia and Jockey D.S.Rathore and having heard the submission made and having video recording of the race, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey D.S.Rathore, held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding on his mount GOLDEN SPURS in the above race. The Stewards noted that coming into the straight Jockey D.S.Rathore did not maintain a straight course and he was very feeble in his riding efforts.

Taking an overall view and keeping in mind that the horse had no previous form and was at longer odds, the  Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 22nd December, 2011 to 1st January, 2012 (both days inclusive) for unsatisfactory riding (permitted to ride work/mock race). Further, he was severely warned for the future.

The Stewards were also not entirely satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer H.J.Antia. The Stewards noted his past record wherein action was initiated against him and he was severely warned with regard to the running and riding of his horses, However, taking an overall view, the Stewards had decided to give him the benefit of the doubt in the present case and he was warned for the future.
