RACE DAY REPORTS

 

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED ON THE FULL COURSE. FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED 9 METRES WIDE FROM THE WINNING POST TILL 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER LEADING TO 11 METRES WIDE TILL THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 3 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE.

THE STARTING GATES WERE POSITIONED AS MEASURED BY THE RODOMETER.

 

On a request from Trainer M.Narredu, permission was granted to Trainer Damodaran D.Pillai to saddle his charges DOUBLE O SEVEN & SUPERTRAMP in the 2nd & 6th race respectively, at his (Trainer M.Narredu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(183) – THE  ASHWAMEDHA PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – 5 Runners

 

An Objection was lodged by Jockey Dashrath Singh, rider of NAZRANA (Placed 3rd) against PLATED (T.S.Jodha, Placed 2nd). The reason being, at about 300 metres, PLATED came on to him and cut across his horse, whereby he and his horse got unbalanced and he had to stop riding at a crucial juncture and thereafter his horse came back with a re-run and had it not been for the interference, he would have beaten PLATED..

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards upheld the objection and revised the order of placing of the race as under :-

The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey T.S.Jodha and having heard him and having viewed the video recording of the race, decided to suspend his Jockeys License for 25th October 2014 for Careless Riding. (Permitted to ride work/ Mock race).

 

In the above incident, ZAAN (Mudassar Nazar) who was following NAZRANA  (Dashrath Singh), was inconvenienced and forced to shift out as NAZRANA was steadied due to the interference and lost position.

 

NAZRANA (Dashrath Singh) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the comparative performance of ZAAN and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, NAZRANA was found to be sound, but having an injury at the right nostril. PLATED was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(184) – THE ARTOIS PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

Soon after the start, QUICK FIRE (Dashrath Singh) shifted out marginally and went on to ICE AGE (S.P.Ranjane), who went on to DREAMLINER (App.G.Amit), who in turn caused INCENTIO (Sandeep Jadhav) to shift out on to AINRA (A.Sandesh).

 

HABIBIANS (Kishore Kadam) hung-in in the straight and near 150 metres hampered the running of DOUBLE O SEVEN (R.K.Mahesh). Trainer Vijay Kasbekar has been asked to take remedial measures and show the gelding to the satisfaction of Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting with him to race.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (QUICK FIRE) reported that he did not get a clear run in the final stages of the race due to lack of room and therefore he was unable to ride out till past the Post.

 

After the race, INCENTIO was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore fetlock. DOUBLE O SEVEN, HABIBIANS, QUICK FIRE and DREAMLINER were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(185) – THE  OCTOBER HANDICAP: (About) 1200 Metres – 7 Runners

 

NATIONAL GOLD (Dashrath Singh) jumped out tardily, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

 

App.Yash Narredu (FAST LADY) lost his left rein in the final 100 metres, which he regained shortly.

 

SUPER  ICON (S.S.Baria) hung-out during the race and while negotiating the bend, drifted wide and raced along the outer rails. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

LEX LUTHOR (Kavraj Singh) lugged-out during the race. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, LOGANO was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind fetlock. LEX LUTHER and SUPER ICON were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(186) – THE  BEYOND BELIEF PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners

 

STORMY PRINCESS (S Mosin) refused to be stalled despite all efforts, as such, the mare was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Orders. Since the mare had behaved in a similar manner in its previous start, Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock race, before next accepting with her to race.

 

Soon after the start, MINE FOREVER (Akshay) leaned inwards and went on to RUBENS (I.Pasha), who had also leaned inwards at that stage and went on to GLORIOUS REWARD (T.S.Jodha). In this incident, STILETTO (Dashrath Singh) who was following GLORIOUS REWARD, was inconvenienced.

 

Jockey I.Pasha (RUBENS) reported that near 600 metres his mount suddenly stopped galloping as the kickback on the race track hit on the face of his mount.

 

After the race, RUBENS was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(187) – THE MOTILAL GOPALDAS MATHURAWALA GOLD TROPHY:

                                                                                                                                  (About) 1600 Metres – 9 Runners

After the race, CENTAURUS was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind tendon. STRATEGIC MOVE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(188) – THE CHAMPAGNE GOLD PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge ICE AFFAIR in two races on this day. The horse was struck out from the second of the two Handicap races at the Acceptance stage.   

 

At the start, NIRBHAYA (App.S.J.Sunil, dr.10) jumped awkwardly inwards, due to which VENI VIDI VICI (J.Chinoy, dr.9) shifted in on to SPEED UP (Kishore Kadam, dr.8), ricocheted and shifted out and in the process clipped the heels of NIRBHAYA and stumbled.

 

At the start, ABSOLUTE JEWEL (A.J.Nilesh, dr.5) jumped awkwardly inwards and at the same time, WISH UPON A STAR (D.A.Naik, dr.4) jumped awkwardly outwards and made contact with each other.

 

NIRBHAYA (App.S.J.Sunil) lugged in during the race. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, WISH UPON A STAR was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(189) – THE CHAMPAGNE GOLD PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

On arrival at the Starting Gates, CON MAN (J.Pradeep) was examined by the Club’s VO and was found to be sore by the right fore leg, as such, the gelding was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Orders. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

CROSSFIRE (I.Pasha) lost 2 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, ADVANCE TO CONTACT (Kishore Kadam) shifted in suddenly and made contact with DYNA (S.Sunil).

 

After the race, ANCIENT WORLD was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STAR GAZING and ANCIENT WORLD were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 4th & 7th race viz. ZAAN, MINE FOREVER & ANGEL IN THE SKY and the special sample of CENTAURUS (5th race) & ANCIENT WORLD (7th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
