RE : REQUEST FROM TRAINER JAYANTILAL K.GOR TO REDUCE HIS SUSPENSION BY ONE WEEK – HIS LICENSE WAS SUSPENED W.E.F. 15/07/2010 TO 12/09/2010 & FINED RS.15,000/-  ENQ. INTO THE POSITIVE FINDINGS OF THE DRUGS “PHENYLBUTAZONE, OXYPHENBUTAZONE & HYDROXY LIGNOCAINE” IN THE POST RACE URINE SAMPLE OF  “RODRIGO” (UNPLACED) IN RACE NO.274 – THE EXCLUSIVE VIRTUE PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 25/03/2010 :

The Stewards at their meeting held on Saturday, 4th September, 2010 considered a letter dated 2nd September, 2010 from Trainer Jayantilal K.Gor on the captioned subject matter and having deliberated the matter, regretted their inability to accede to his request.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE LOSS OF BOTH FORE PLATES OF “FLUENT VICTORY” IN RACE NO.59 – THE ASPINALLS PLATE (DIV.II) RUN ON 14TH AUGUST, 2010 :

When questioned, Trainer Narendra Lagad informed that the horse has no problem with the hoof and he had declared to race him with Aluminium, both fore high heel plates. He said that he uses locally made Aluminium  plates which do not have rubber or leather padding attached to it as was found with imported plates and hence he had used leather padding between the shoe and the hoof. He said that that this was the first occasion in his career, wherein both fore shoes have come off which he felt may be due to the track condition since there was a similar case with another horse earlier during the current Pune Meeting.

The Farrier said that he had done shoeing on this horse on many occasions but this was the first instance that both fore plates had come off. He said that he had done the shoeing correctly.

The explanation tendered was noted.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE COMPARATIVE PERFORMANCE OF “EYE OF THE STORM” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.60 – THE ASPINALLS PLATE (DIV.I) RUN ON 14TH AUGUST, 2010 AS COMPARED TO ITS PREVIOUS RUN IN RACE NO.25 RUN ON 23RD JULY, 2010 WHERE IT WAS UNPLACED :

The Stipendiary Stewards reported that they had questioned Trainer Narendra Lagad in the above connection. He stated that in Race No.25 he had two runners viz. BLUSH ridden by Jockey Ladjadj Stephane and EYE OF THE STORM ridden by Jockey A.M.Tograllu. He said that considering the field in that race, he had instructed Jockey Ladjadj Stephane to be in a forward position and he had instructed Jockey A.M.Tograllu to sit in 5th/6th position and to do his best. He said that in Race No.60 the field was comparatively poor consisting of horses who had not won a single race since the last Mumbai Meeting and since the filly was a favourite he had asked Jockey Ladjadj Stephane to be well up this time, however, the filly was not quick enough to take a forward position and Jockey Stephane settled the filly in 4th/5th position and rode very judiciously and won the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad added that this filly had dental problem which he came to know during the end of the Mumbai Season and the attending Vet informed that she had unusual anatomy of teeth and she has to be tranquilized. Accordingly, the dentistry was done in the off season. He said that in Race No.25 it was the first run of the filly after the dental treatment and long gap of the off season. He further stated that the filly is dry coated.

Trainer Narendra Lagad was asked why the filly ran in bandages in Race No.25 and without bandages in Race No.60, to which he replied that the filly had over-reached and injured herself and therefore he had used bandages in Race No.25.

Considering that the field in Race No.60 was poor as compared to Race No.25 and also it was the filly’s first run in Race No.25 after dentistry and she was running after a long gap, the explanation tendered by Trainer Narendra Lagad was noted.

RE : RACE NO.74 – THE PRA INDEPENDENCE MILLION RUN ON 15TH AUGUST, 2010 – JOCKEY D.K.ASHISH, RIDER OF “SATSUMA STAR” REPORTED TO THE STEWARDS FOR CAUSING SEVERE INTERFERENCE TO “WILNA” (P.KAMLESH) IN THE STRAIGHT, NEARLY DISLODGING THE RIDER :

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 4th September, 2010 interviewed Jockey D.K.Ashish in the above connection. Having considered the submissions made and viewing the video recording of Race No.74, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey D.K.Ashish in the subject case  and held him guilty of careless riding on his mount SATSUMA STAR in the above race. In that, on entering the straight, he forced his way out and came on to WILNA (P.Kamlesh) nearly dislodging the rider. However,  keeping in mind that he had admitted his mistake and apologized for the same, the Stewards took a lenient view in the matter and suspended his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 19th September, 2010 to 25th September, 2010 (both days inclusive)  for careless riding (permitted to ride work/mock race).
