RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT.

Permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle the charges of Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha viz. SQUARE MOON (6^th race) & DAZZLE N DAZE (8^th race) at his (Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Hosidar Daji, permission was granted to Trainer Nina M.Lalvani to saddle his charge PAPPILLON in the 6^th race, at his (Trainer Hosidar Daji’’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer C.D.Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charge BUBBLY BELLINI in the 7^th race, at his (Trainer C.D.Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(299) - THE CHARON TROPHY: (About)1600 Metres. Runners – 4

LAURITA (A.Sandesh) leaned outwards in the straight for a brief period. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measure before next accepting to the race the filly.

RACE NO.2(300) – THE KAILASHPAT SINGHANIA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 8

The saddle on JIMBO (A.Ashhad Asbar) was observed to have slipped back during the race, as such, Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been fined Rs.2,000/-

An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of JIMBO and PEPE SENIOR and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, JIMBO, PEPE SENIOR and EMPEROR OF FRANCE were found to be sound.

RACE NO.3(301) – THE PRIME TIME PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 14

Soon after the start, NAME OF THE GAME (A.Ashhad Asbar) shifted in and carried SIMPLY SHINING (N.Rawal) inwards, who tightened SENTOSA COVE (D.K.Ashish), who in turn went on to AURELIO (Dashrath Singh). Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

Jockey N.Rawal (SIMPLY SHINING) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker.

Soon on entering the straight, AURELIO (Dashrath Singh) leaned inwards and then shifted out as the Jockey used /his whip as a corrective measure and carried SENTOSA COVE (D.K.Ashish) outwards. Passing 200 metres, AURELIO hung out suddenly and jostled with SENTOSA COVE (D.K.Ashish) and carried SENTOSA COVE outwards and then continued to hang out and finished racing along the outer rails. Even though the gelding had returned sore after the race, Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock race before next accepting to race,.

An objection was lodged by Jockey D.K.Ashish, rider of SENTOSA COVE (Placed Fifth) against AURELIO (Dashrath Singh, Placed Third). The reason being, in the final 200 metres, AURELIO bumped his horse twice and took him out twice, due to which he had to stop riding and this cost him a certain place.

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards upheld the objection and revised the order of placing of the race as under :

MERAKI - FIRST; NAME OF THE GAME - THIRD;

ITSCARO - SECOND; SENTOSA COVE - FOURTH.

After the race, AURELIO was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

After the race, ESPADA was found to be sound.

RACE NO.4(302) – THE S A WAHID PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 18

Jockey D K Ashish (AMAZON CAT) reported that his mount began to hang out soon after the start due to which, near 600 metres, the bit on his mount slipped towards the right side and subsequently the bridle shifted, as such, he was unable to ride out his mount to complete advantage. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been asked to take remedial measure before next accepting to race the gelding.

Near 100 metres, ARSENAL (Ishwar Pardeshi) was held up due to lack of room when tightened, while racing behind AMAZON CAT (D.K.Ashish) who was eased up at that stage.

Jockey P.Trevor (ROCK THE TURF) reported that his mount lugged-in in straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measure before next accepting to race the mare.

Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi (ARSENAL) has been severely reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift out under the use of the whip passing 200 metres.

Jockey A.Sandesh (SPEED UP) reported that his mount did not respond to his urgings during the race. The Sr. VO was requested to examine the gelding who reported that and he reported that no abnormality was detected.

After the race, ROCK THE TURF and HOME FACTOR were found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(303) – THE J ROBINSON PLATE:(About) 1800 Metres. Runners – 8

JESTER (S.K.Jadhav) was restless in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. COAT OF ARMS (J.Chinoy) tried to duck under the gates. The gelding jumped out riderless. Trainers Dallas Todywalla and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

COAT OF ARMS (J. Chinoy) jumped out riderless. When questioned, Jockey J Chinoy stated that the horse was trying to duck the front gate and therefore he got off the horse. After viewing the start repeatedly it was observed that the horse was practically quiet and that the Jockey had pre-empted and had got off. An enquiry has been initiated in the matter and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, SERENE was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind cannon.

RACE NO.6(304) -THE LEI PLATE:(About) 1800 Metres. Runners– 8

PAPPILLON (A.Sandesh) lost about 5 lengths at the start. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

After the race, EL CAMINO and SHINING PATH (examined on 05/04/2015) were found to be sound. SQUARE MOON had an upper gum injury.

RACE NO.7(305) - THE PRIME TIME PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres. Runners -13

HIGHLAND KING (A.Ashhad Asbar) and ZAHRAZAN (Darren Williams) played up in the stall. Both the horses were taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and certified fit to race. However, Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar was hurt and unable to ride, as such HIGHLAND KING was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainers C.Rajendra and Dallas Todywalla have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

Jockey C.S.Jodha (JUPITER) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for improper use of the whip in the final stage of the race wherein he has allowed his mount to shift in under the use of the whip.

SAKER (A.Sandesh) and STAND AND DANCE (R Vaibhav) hung-out in the straight. Trainers Karthik G, and Adhirajsingh Jodha have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge before next accepting to race them

BUBBLY BELLINI (Dashrath Singh) hung-out badly in the straight. Trainer C.D.Katrak has asked to take remedial measures and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race

RUNNING CLOUD (J.Chinoy) lugged-in in straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

Jockey S.K.Jadhav (ANCIENT GLORY) reported that his mount ran unsettled during the race.

The Sr.V.O. reported that ANCIENT GLORY was examined at the stables in the morning on 05/04/2015 and was found to be sore by the right hind leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

The Sr.V.O. reported that SAKER and STAND AND DANCE were examined at the stables in the morning on 05/04/2015 and were found to be sound.

RACE NO.8(306) – THE SION F NESSIM PLATE:(About) 2400 Metres. Runners – 4

After the race, VENTURA was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1^st, 3^rd and 4^th race, viz. LA FEMME FLEUR, MERAKI and ZAFIRAH, and the special sample of BUBBLY BELLINI (7^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS :

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “BALCHANDRA” IN RACE NO.284: THE SIMPLY GORGEOUS PLATE RUN ON 26^TH MARCH 2015 – THE OWNER HAD LODGED A COMPLAINTTHAT HE WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE RIDING OF JOCKEY I.PASHA :

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Saturday, 4^th April, 2015 considered Note dated 28^th March, 2015 from the Stipendiary Stewards. They interviewed Jockey I.Pasha who was accompanied by his Spokesman, Mr.Narendra, as also Trainer Asad Siddiqui. Having viewed the video of Race No.284 as also Jockey I.Pasha’s winning ride on DOUBLE DIAMOND in Race No.42, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey I.Pasha and held him guilty of unsatisfactory riding on his mount BALCHANDRA. The Stewards noted that when he pulled his horse out at about 300 metres, the horse was responding well and he was full of running, however, the Jockey did not ride out his mount but rather restrained the horse by his left hand thereby not allowing the horse to gallop freely. Accordingly, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 19^th April, 2015 to 26^th April, 2015 (both days inclusive). Thereafter, should he apply for a license for the Season 2014/15, it will be granted to him, however, his license shall stand suspended for Nine Race Days commencing from the first day of the Pune Meeting 2015. (permitted to ride work/mock race).

Further, the Stewards were also not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Trainer Asad Siddiqui. The Stewards noted that despite him (Tr.Asad Siddiqui) and Jockey I.Pasha being fined for unsatisfactory running and riding of the same horse in Race No.180 during the current Mumbai Meeting, he still chose to declare the same Jockey. Further, he also made contradictory statements in the enquiry. Therefore, the Stewards decided to severely caution him for the future.

RE: 284: THE SIMPLY GORGEOUS PLATE RUN ON 26^TH MARCH 2015 – JOCKEY I.PASHA (BALCHANDRA) USING THE WHIP IN EXCESS OF THE PRESCRIBED LIMIT – THIRD OFFENCE :

Jockey I Pasha (BALCHANDRA) was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount BALCHANDRA in Race No.284. It was noted that Jockey I.Pasha’s license, if granted for the Season 2014/15, shall stand suspended for nine race days commencing from the first day of the Pune Meeting 2015 for unsatisfactory riding on BALCHANDRA. Therefore, his Jockey’s license shall stand suspended for further two race days after completion of your above punishment, for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on BALCHANDRA in Race No.284.

RE : CONFIRMATORY ANALYSIS REPORT IN RESPECT OF ch f “MAISHA” (WINNER) IN RACE NO.17 – THE MAHARAJA OF MORVI TROPHY RUN ON 23^RD NOVEMBER, 2014 :

The Stewards at their meeting held on Saturday, 4^th April, 2015 interviewed Tr.P.Shroff regarding the Confirmatory Analysis Report dated 1^st April, 2015 from LCH, France, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge MAISHA (Winner) in Race No.17 – The Maharaja of Morvi Trophy run on 23^rd November, 2014, which read as under:-

“…..It is hereby confirmed that the sample, which has been analysed as set out above, contains O-DESMETHYLVENLAFAXINE”.

A copy of the above report was handed over to Trainer P.Shroff and he was asked to continue his own enquiries and to lead evidence, if any, to prove mitigating circumstances, within 15 days and to also attend the enquiry to be held by the Stipendiary Stewards and the Sr.Veterinary Officer of the Club, as and when required.

Further, as per the Medication Rules, the Stewards of the Club decided to disqualify MAISHA (Winner) in Race No.17 – The Maharaja of Morvi Trophy run on 23^rd November, 2014, and to revise the order of placing of the race as under :-.

The Stewards at their meeting held on Saturday, 4^th April, 2015 interviewed Tr.P.Shroff regarding the Confirmatory Analysis Report dated 1^st April, 2015 from LCH, France, in respect of the sample of urine taken from his charge RAMESSES (Placed Third) in Race No.77 – The Gulamhusein Essaji Trophy run on Sunday, 21^st December, 2014, which read as under:-

“…..It is hereby confirmed that the sample, which has been analysed as set out above, contains CAPSAICIN”

Further, as per the Medication Rules, the Stewards of the Club decided to disqualify RAMESSES (Placed Third) in Race No.77 – The Gulamhusein Essaji Trophy run on Sunday, 21^st December, 2014, and to revise the order of placing of the race as under :-.
