RACE DAY REPORTS

 

THERE WERE NO FALSE RAILS. STARTING GATES FOR 1200 METRES RACES WERE POSITIONED IN THE BACKSTRETCH (AND NOT FROM THE CHUTE.)

 

On a request from Trainer Suresh Chavan, permission was granted to Trainer Himmat Singh to saddle his charges SENORE HILL & CLASSIC RULER in the 5th & 6th races respectively, at his (Trainer Suresh Chavan’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charge CARUSO in the 7th race, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(34) – THE STAR COMRADE PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 10 Runners

 

After being stalled, BONOBO (R.Vaihbav) sat on its haunches. ARZAAN (J.Chinoy) planted and lost considerable ground at the start. Trainers Magansingh P.Jodha and Subhag Singh have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching 800 metres, RUBENS (I.Pasha) lugged in and brushed the rails. 

 

After the race, HOT AS ICE was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind coronet. CORNELIAN had lost its left fore shoe. BONOBO and RUBENS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(35) – THE AIR DASH PLATE (DIV.III): (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

On the way to the start, MYKONOS (P.Kamlesh) dislodged the rider and bolted towards the winning post.  After consulting the Trainer, the filly was withdrawn before coming under the Starter’s Order.

 

SNOW KING (App.Prasad) stumbled at the start.

 

Soon after the start, MOUNTAIN TREASURE (Vivek) slowed down, due to which the TRAFFIC JAM (Vijay R.Kadam) had to be maneuvered outwards and in the process carried WALK OF LIFE (Malcolm Kharadi) outwards, who in turn jostled with AUGUSTYNA (Akash Agarwal). Also, due to MOUNTAIN TREASURE slowing down, SNOW KING (App.Prasad) who was following, was steadied and shifted in and scrapped the rails.   

 

When given an opportunity to explain the comparative performance of NEGREDO, Trainer Mansoor Shah stated that he was surprised at the filly’s good run considering her poor performance last time out in Race no 17 which was run on 19th July 2013. He added that he had not fancied the filly and she was at longer odds. The explanation was noted. 

 

After the race, MYKONOS, TRAFFIC JAM (examined on 04/08/2013), NEVADA and WALK OF LIFE were found to be sound.  WALK OF LIFE had an abrasion at the right hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.3(36) – THE PICCOLINA PLATE : (About) 1600 Metres – 6 Runners

                                      

OCTOPAUL (C.S.Jodha) was slow in the strides and tried to drift outwards thereby losing about 4 lengths. CAPITAL ATTRACTION (A.Sandesh) was also slow in the strides, losing about 5 lengths. Trainers Imtiaz A.Sait and Sanjay Kolse have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, HURRICANE WIND and PAPAKURA were found to be sound. HURRICANE WIND had an abrasion at the left hind coronet, PAPAKURA had an abrasion at both the hind fetlocks and OCTOPAUL had an abrasion at the right hind coronet.

 

RACE NO.4(37) – THE AIR DASH PLATE (DIV.II) : (About) 1000 Metres – 12 Runners

 

ELECTRA (S.Sunil) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Soon after the start, ST BARTS (Ishwar Pardeshi, dr.6) shifted out and carried ICE BEAUTY (App.Sandeep Jadhav, dr.7) outwards and at the same time THREE ROSES (Dashrath Singh, dr.8) shifted in whereby ICE BEAUTY and THREE ROSES jostled with each other. Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Shortly thereafter, THREE ROSES (Dashrath Singh) shifted outwards after the jostle with ICE BEAUTY and carried WIND CRAFT (Vivek) wider.

 

Approaching 200 metres, ST BARTS (Ishwar Pardeshi) lugged in and hampered the running of WIND CRAFT (Vivek).     

 

When given an opportunity to explain the comparative performance of GANGNAM STYLE, Trainer M.K.Jadhav stated that the gelding was drawn badly in its previous outing in Race No 16 run over similar distance and was ridden by the same Jockey. Also, the gelding had received interference in the previous outing. He further added that the gelding was at longer odds and this was it’s maiden win. The explanation was noted. 

 

After the race, THREE ROSES was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind coronet. EROTIC FLAME and ST BARTS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(38)  – THE GREAT STRIDES PLATE  : (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

After being stalled, JET STREAM (D.K.Ashish) reared up, flipped backwards and fell inside the gates. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and was found to have suffered cut injuries on both hips. As such, JET STREAM  was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. Also, the Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting with her to race. LIGHTNING THUNDER (App.Prasad) who was in the adjoining stall was also examined by the Club’s V.O. and certified to race.

 

SENOR HILL (S.Sameer) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Near 1000 metres, NEON LIGHT (Nirmal Jodha) was hampered for a run as NOVAK (A.Sandesh) shifted in when tightened for room.

 

Near 800 metres, ORIENTAL MASTI (N.S.Parmar) who raced keen, shifted in and took the running of NEON LIGHT (Nirmal Jodha) who clipped the hind heels of the former and stumbled. Jockey N.S.Parmar has been fined Rs.3,000/-

 

Jockeys N.S.Parmar (ORIENTAL MASTI) and J.Chinoy (PEZZONOVANTE) reported the loss of their whip near  the Winning Post & 200 metres respectively.

 

Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been fined Rs.1,000/- for racing his charge ORIENTAL MASTI without the bandages on the hind legs.

 

After the race, RAMBUTAN, NEON LIGHT and SENOR HILL were found to be sound.  LIGHTNING THUNDER had an abrasion at the left hind coronet, SENOR HILL had a cut injury at the right hind cannon and PEZZONOVANTE had an abrasion at the left hind cannon.

 

RACE NO.6(39) – THE ROYAL PRINCESS PLATE : (About) 1200 Metres – 12 Runners

 

Near 300 metres, PROTECTOR OF PARIS (J.Chinoy) shifted out and carried THEOLOGY (N.S.Parmar) outwards. Jockey J.Chinoy has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (SHEER ROMANCE) reported that his mount lugged-in during the race, as such, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

UNKNOWN REBEL lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

When given an opportunity to explain the comparative performance of SONG OF SPARROW, Trainer Mansoor Shah stated that he was pleasantly surprised at this win considering the performance of the filly last time out in Race no 10 run on the first day of the Pune Meeting. He added that he had not fancied the filly and she was at longer odds. The explanation was noted.

 

After the race, ZIDAAN, THEOLOGY and SHEER ROMANCE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(40) – THE AUGUST HANDICAP : (About) 1400 Metres – 10 Runners

 

Soon after the start, MODUS VIVENDI (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in and carried THUNDER STAR (A.Ashhad Asbar) inwards, who caused BELVEDERE (Malcolm Kharadi) to shift in, who in turn caused interference to SUMMER ECLIPSE (D.K.Ashish). Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

Passing 800 metres, DOMINGO (N.S.Parmar) shied away and scrapped the rails.

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (CARUSO) reported that he lost his right rein close to the Winning Post.

 

After the race, DOMINGO was observed to be sound, but having a bleeding injury at the right fore cannon. CARUSO was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(41) – THE AIR DASH PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 12 Runners

 

WILD WAVES (S.Sunil) was reluctant to be stalled and thereafter was restless in the stall. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ARABIAN GLORY (Towfeeq R.Shaikh) reared up as the start was given and lost about 2 lengths at the start.  NICANORA (V.Chandrakant) also lost 2 lengths at the start.

 

PRIZE FIGHTER (Altaf Sayyed) ran erratic and shifted in approaching 200 metres and hampered the running of WILD WAVES (S.Sunil). Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, PRIZE FIGHTER was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(42) – THE LONDONDERRY PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 12 Runners

 

SNOW FLAKE (Kavraj Singh) lugged-in in the final stages of the race. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, MESMERIC was found to be sound, but having an abrasion at both the hind fetlock. WIND CHIME and QUANDO QUANDO were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th race, viz.  GANGNAM STYLE, NOVAK, SONG OF SPARROW and FALCO NERO, and the special sample of EROTIC FLAME (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
