When questioned Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait stated that the Instructions to the Jockey were to be in 4th or 5th position, to improve from 800 metres and to do his best from 400 metres. The Trainer stated that the mare met with interference at the start due to which the Jockey had to ride her out to maintain the position which may not have suited her. He further stated that passing 400 metres, she may have been chocking as she has not responded thereafter though she was operated for soft pallet. He added that he had given the mare only a chance considering that she has choking problem. The Trainer opted to scope the mare and subsequently, the Sr. VO reported that no abnormality was detected. The explanation was noted.

An objection was lodged by Jockey P.Trevor, rider of SUNTAN BEAUTY (Placed Third) against NATIONAL PRIDE (Ishwar Pardeshi, Placed First). The reason being, near 300 metres NATIONAL PRIDE came alongside when he had just started riding and then cut across, whereby his horse nearly came down and he had to stop riding and check his mount completely and then start riding again and despite this interference his horse finished third, otherwise the verdict would have been different.
After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.
The Stewards after the last race interviewed Jockey Ishwar Pardeshi for careless riding on his mount NATIONAL PRIDE and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by him, decided to suspend his Jockey’s license for 20th January, 2013 (permitted to ride work/mock race).
