RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 11 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 12 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 4 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 9 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer S.Ganapathy, permission was granted to Trainer Karthik G. to saddle his charge STAR MARQUESS in the 6th race, at his (Trainer S.Ganapathy’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(33)  – THE  NUTRITION TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 12

 

Trainer Mansoor Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge SECRETIVE to race while the filly was on Veterinary Ban. The horse was struck out at the Acceptance stage.

 

At the start, FLASHFORWARD (Dashrath Singh, dr.2) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to ARABIAN LORD (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) who went on to LET IT FLY (App.Nikhil Bhujbal, dr.4) who was also tightened as MACHALA (P.Trevor, dr.5) jumped awkwardly inwards. 

 

At the start, PURPLE MOON (F.Irani) began awkwardly.

 

At the start, PRINCE (App.Prasad, dr.7) jumped awkwardly outwards and went across RAKHSH (J.Pradeep, dr.8) who was steadied and then made contact with BLESSED (C.S.Jodha, dr.9) who had also shifted inwards. In this incidence, BLESSED shifted out as she was steadied and shortly afterwards, RIDING ONTHE STORM (C.Rajendra) shifted inwards due to AL ZAMARUD (Shrikant Kamble) shifting in.

 

Soon after the start, PRINCE (App.Prasad) shifted in and jostled with SOUND OF RIVER (App.S.Mosin) who in turn jostled with MACHALA (P.Trevor). App.Prasad has been fined Rs.2,000/-

 

Soon after the start, AL ZAMARUD (Shrikant Kamble) shifted in and went across RIDING ONTHE STORM (C.Rajendra) who was steadied. Jockey Shrikant Kamble has been fined Rs.2,000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

 

Trainer S.K.Sunderji and Jockey Dashrath Singh were questioned regarding the poor performance of FLASHFORWARD. Jockey Dashrath Singh stated that his mount did not gallop freely in the race. Trainer S.K.Sunderji stated that FLASHFORWARD is not a genuine horse, in that, he would run one good race and then a bad race. The gelding has managed to win a race during the last Mumbai Meeting with difficulty. He opined that there were two other good horses in the race viz. BLESSED & AL ZAMRUD and in his opinion his charge was a false favourite. He added that he had given the gelding a chance in this race. To another question he stated that the gelding has been appearing on Board but has not been able to win a race. The Sr. VO was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that no abnormality was detected. The explanation tendered by the Trainer and Jockey was noted.

 

App S.Mosin (SOUND OF RIVER) reported that his mount began to drop out of the race in the straight. The Sr. VO was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that no abnormality was detected.

 

After the race, PURPLE MOON was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, RAKSH was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(34) – THE VINAYAK MEMORIAL TROPHY : (About) 1000 Metres – Runners - 10

 

CRÈME DE LA CRÈME (Kavraj Singh) kept continuously rearing up in the stall and not allowing the rider to settle. Trainer Vinay Lagad has been asked to give the mare more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

ROGER BCOOL (S.Sunil) hung out  in the straight and took ENDLESS HORIZON (P.Trevor) outwards thus hampering its run. Since ROGER BCOOL had behaved in a similar manner during the Pune Meeting 2012, Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a Mock race, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey S.Sameer (SILVER SOUL) has been cautioned for not being vigorous in his riding effort in the straight.

 

After the race, ZARACHA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, PHOSPHOR, ROGER BCOOL, SILVER SOUL, ENDLESS HORIZON and POUND FOOLISH were found to be sound. CRÈME DE LA CRÈME had a gum injury.     

 

RACE NO.3(35) – THE POWERHOUSE EASTERN GERMANY TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners – 6

 

After the race, SWIFT MEMORIES was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(36) – THE  BAYER TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners – 11

 

After the start, ILLUSTRIOUS (S.Sameer) began awkwardly.

 

Near 900 metres, ILLUSTRIOUS (S.Sameer) was tightened and lost position.

 

Near 300 metres, HELEN (D.K.Ashish) was pulled up by its Rider and stopped galloping.  On examination by the Club’s Sr.V.O.,  the filly was found to be sore from the left fore leg. First aid treatment was given and the filly was sent to the Equine Hospital by Horse Ambulance for further management. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

Near 100 metres, IRRESISTIBLE HUNK (C.Rajendra) was hampered for a run and was steadied as THIS ONES FOR YOU (A.Sandesh) shifted in. Jockey A.Sandesh has been cautioned. 

 

Jockey B.Prakash (STARLIGHT MAGIC) reported that his mount kept dropping back in the straight. The Sr. VO was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that no abnormality was detected.

 

After the race, ILLUSTRIOUS, STARLIGHT MAGIC, IRRESISTIBLE  HUNK, MOUNTAIN MYNAH and THIS ONES FOR YOU were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(37) – THE BASF GOOD GOVERNANCE CUP: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9

 

At the request of Trainer Dallas Todywalla, WIND OF THE NORTH was examined at 1845 hours on 01/12/2012 and was found to have painful swelling above the left fore fetlock and tendon, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey S.Sunil (NEW WORLD) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that HERCULES was examined at the stables in the morning on 3rd December, 2012 and found to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ACT OF WAR was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the right hind bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.6(38) – THE A.C.ARDESHIR TROPHY (Gr.3): (About) 1600 Metres  – Runners - 9

 

At the start, MADDOX (Dashrath Singh) threw its head up.

 

Approaching 300 metres, SMASHING (P.Trevor) was tightened for room and steadied as CAPRIOLE (Daniel M.Grant) shifted inwards whereby SMASHING had to be maneuvered around CAPRIOLE and make its bid. Jockey Daniel M.Grant has been fined Rs.2,000/- for not making sufficient effort to control the inward movement of his mount.

 

After the race, MADDOX was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind pastern. SMASHING  and CAPRIOLE were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(39) – THE HDFC – ERGO TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 10

 

COLOURFUL PRINCE  (A.Sandesh) refused to proceed to the Starting gate. As such, the colt was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Dallas Todywalla  has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt. 

 

Jockey Dashrath Singh (INVINCIBLE) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in before the Red Marker and going across the field on his inside.

 

Jockey C.S.Jodha (CYCLOPS) reported that his mount ran green during the race.

 

After the race, COLOURFUL PRINCE was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind cannon. MARS and MUFASA were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(40) – THE INDO-GERMAN CHRISTMAS TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 15

 

While negotiating the bend, STAR GAZING (J.Chinoy) took a wider turn and carried EYE OF THE STORM (Akash Agarwal) outwards. Jockey J.Chinoy has been cautioned.

 

HOME ADVANTAGE (C.Rajendra) did not get a clear run in the straight.

 

Approaching 200 metres, DREAM WEAVER (P.Trevor) rolled outwards and caused HOME ADVANTAGE (C.Rajendra) to shift out, as a result SOLI DEO GLORIA (M.A.Roushan) was hampered for a run.

 

After the race, EYE OF THE STORM was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left hind pastern. DANCING JENNY had a cut injury at the left hind bulb of heel and SOLI DEO GLORIA had a gum injury.  STAR GAZING and DREAM WEAVER were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 2nd and 6th race viz. AL ZAMARUD, ROBER BCOOL and RAJASTHAN ROYALS, as also that of YUVILLE & STAR OF GIBRALTAR (6th race) and the special sample of PURPLE MOON (1st race) and ZARACHA (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : APPEAL FROM MR.SATINDER SINGH PAL AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS TO EXCLUDE HIM FROM THE PREMISES OF THE RACE COURSE AT MUMBAI /PUNE AND ALL OTHER PLACES WHERE THE RULES OF RACING OF THE CLUB ARE IN FORCE, W.E.F. 20/10/2012 TO 19/10/2017 FOR ACCEPTING ILLEGAL BETS ON 22ND SEPTEMBER, 2012 (PUNE RACE DAY) AT THE PUNE RACE COURSE :

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 2nd December 2012 considered the Appeal of Mr.Satinder Singh Pal and interviewed him and his Spokesman, Mr.Usman Rangila. The Board of Appeal, having studied all documents and papers that were submitted, including the Grounds of Appeal and having heard the submissions made by Mr.Satinder Singh Pal and his Spokesman and having deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds, decided to reject the appeal.
