GENERAL:

Trainer Vinay Lagad has been fined Rs.1000/- for accepting his charge KATHELYNN to race in two races on the same day. The filly was struck out from the Handicap race.

 

RACE NO 1. (174) THE GOBELIN PLATE (About) 1600 Metres.   Runners – 4

RACE NO 2. (175) THE RAY OF LIGHT PLATE  - DIVISION II  (About) 1200 Metres. Runners –10

 

At the request of Trainer Karthik G, IVORY MINT was examined at 0745 hours on 01/10/2011 and was found to be tied up and had signs of right stifle lock as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer has been asked to obtain a fitness certificate before next accepting to race the gelding. 

 

The explanation of Jockey Dashrath Singh (C’EST LA VIE) that his mount was sluggish after the start and therefore he could not follow the instructions which were to be in a forward position was noted.

 

In the final stages of the race, CHIQUITA (P Trevor) shifted ground outwards due to which FARAMARZ (V Chandrakant) shifted in and in turn inconvenienced MOUNTAIN LION (T Atul) who was racing along the rails. Jockey P Trevor has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out.

 

After the race, LAKE ERIE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

After the race, EMERALD ROMANCE and MOUNTAIN LION were found to be sound. CHIQUITA had a cut injury above the left hock.

 

After the race, C’EST LA VIE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 3. (176) THE PICCOLINA PLATE  (About) 2000 Metres. Runners -6

 

BLING (A Sandesh) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to give the filly more Gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

BLING (A Sandesh) hung out in the final stages of the race, as such Trainer Sanjay Kolse has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

After the race, OCEAN PRINCESS was observed to be sore by the right hind leg and had suffered cut injury on the right hind cannon. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ROESTI was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 4. (177) THE VENUS ARISING TROPHY  (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 12

 

Approaching 1000 metres, STAR BUILDER (YS Srinath) was steadied when MAJOR WAGER (A Sandesh) shifted inwards. Jockey A Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

Approaching 200 metres, DISTANT PROMISE (Vikram Jodha) shifted in and tightened STAR BUILDER (YS Srinath) who in turn caused interference to AWESOME SMILE (T Atul). Since the gelding hung inwards during the race, Trainer Suresh Chavan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race. Nevertheless, Jockey Vikram Jodha has been cautioned for failing to make sufficient efforts to control his mount.

 

Jockey Vikram Jodha (DISTANT PROMISE) reported loss of whip near 200 metres. 

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of OCEAN ADMIRAL and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, BLUE MELLON was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

After the race, THRILLER, DISTANT PROMISE and ASHWA PARWEZ were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 5. (178) THE RAY OF LIGHT PLATE  - DIVISION I  (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners -  12

 

Jockey Nirmal Jodha was declared to ride on two horses in the same race by Trainers Sangramsinh N Joshi (MARINE ZONE) and Anil Kumar (MACHO UNO). After enquiring, Trainer Anil Kumar was fined Rs.1000.

 

At the start, FOXTROT (Kavraj Singh) jumped out awkwardly outwards and jostled with ARCTIC MINSTREL (Shrikant Kamble) and at the same time HIGHLAND VISION (V Phadke) jumped  awkwardly inwards and went on to DIVINE SPLENDOUR (A Sandesh) and in the process ARCTIC MINSTREL lost position. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated in the matter.   

 

After jostling with ARCTIC MINSTREL, Jockey Kavraj Singh (FOXTROT) lost his left stirrup and was unbalanced due to which his mount shifted in and took the running of PHAROAH (T Atul) who stumbled and then jostled with LAKE HURON (R Shelar). In this incidence Jockey T Atul lost his whip accidentally. Since the incident was accidental, no action has been initiated in the matter.   

 

Jockey A Sandesh (DIVINE SPLENDOUR) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift ground inwards in the final 200 metres.

 

After the race, KERINGDINGAN was found to be sound, having a cut injury at right hind pastern and coronet. WALK OF LIFE was sound. DIVINE SPLENDOUR had a cut injury on the right hock and gaskin.

 

RACE NO 6. (179) THE SAARRTHI MILLION (About) 1600 Metres.  Runners – 7

 

AMOURESQUE (A Sandesh) did not get a free run soon on entering the straight.

 

After the race, DANCING DAME was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO 7. (180) THE OCTOBER HANDICAP (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners – 13

 

ETESIAN (Aadesh Kumar) was reluctant to be stalled. MY LUCKY STAR (Srikant Kamble) lost about 5 lengths and did not raise an effective gallop. Trainers Sanjay Kolse and Narendra Lagad have been asked to give their respective charges more Gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials before next accepting to race.

 

Approaching 600 metres, CELSIUS (Dashrah Singh) leaned inwards and went on to VISIONIST (Akshay).

 

LAKE LEADER (J Pradeep) kept an erratic course in the straight and near 200 metres shifted out and inconvenienced STUNTACULAR (Akash Agarwal).

 

ETESIAN (Aadesh Kumar) kept an erratic course in the straight.

 

After the race, SCORCH, LAKE LEADER, SPIRIT OF ECSTASY and EXPELLIARMUS were found to be sound. EMERGING STAR had a cut injury at the right hind pastern.

 

RACE NO 8. (181) THE SKY RAIDER PLATE (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners - 10

 

At the request of Trainer Faisal A Abbas, ORITO was examined at 1145 hours on 01/10/11 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

An Objection was lodged by Jockey A Sandesh (GUNS N ROSES, placed 2nd) against Jockey B.Prakash (STAR VISION, Winner). The reason being, at around 600 metres, he was racing along the rails with STAR VISION on his outside, about ½ a length ahead of him, and STAR VISION came in and took his ground and in the process his mount stumbled and almost came down due to which he lost considerable ground and momentum, which cost him a certain race. The Stewards interviewed the Jockeys concerned as also Mr. Rehanullah Khan, Trainer of GUNS N ROSES and after considering the submissions made by them, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, decided to over-rule the Objection.

 

After the race, TAMARAI was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

After the race, STAR VISION had a cut injury at the left hind cannon.

 

RACE NO 9. (182)THE SCENIC ROYALE PLATE (About) 1800 Metres.  Runners - 12

 

At the request of Trainer Hosidar Daji, MONEY FOR NOTHIN was examined at 0700 hours on 30/09/2011 and was found to have bruises and swelling on both fore fetlocks and also bruises on left fore cannon, as such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to obtain a fitness certificate before next accepting to race the filly. 

 

Trainer Mansoor Shah was questioned regarding the comparative performance of his charge SACRED RELIC in this race which the gelding won as compared to its previous run in Race no 155. The Trainer explained that this was the gelding’s maiden win. There was change of equipment this time in that he had discontinued the use of “Hood” which the gelding did not like in the previous run. He added that he has been trying everything possible with the horse to win a race. Further he stated that in the previous run the horse had returned sore after the race. He further explained that the horse won un-fancied and was available at longer odds. The explanation tendered was noted.

 

After the race, NUMISMATIST was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The horse has to be  passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 2nd, 4th and 6th race viz. MARUDHARA RATAN, GLOWING STAR and CIEL INDIENNE and also that STAR TRAINER & NATIVE KNIGHT (6th race) and the special sample of AMBROSIA (1st race), C’EST LA VIE (2nd race), DISTANT PROMISE & BLUE MELLON (4th race) and TAMARAI (8th race) were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE: APPEAL FROM TRAINER CD KATRAK WITH REGARD TO POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF “STAR FUTURE” (PLACED SECOND) IN RACE NO 71 – THE CASINO ROYALE INDIAN 2000 GUINEAS (GRADE 1) – RUN ON 19TH DECEMBER 2010 &  APPEAL WITH REGARD TO POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF “AMARETTO” (PLACED SECOND) IN RACE NO 158 – THE GOOL S POONAWALLA MILLION (GRADE 3) – RUN ON 23RD JANUARY 2011

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 30th September 2011 considered Appeal from Trainer CD Katrak. The Board of Appeal studied all documents and papers that were submitted, including the Ground of Appeal and heard the submissions made by Trainer Katrak and having deliberated the matter at length and having applied their minds, decided to partially allow the Appeal and accordingly to punishment as under :-

a)      to suspend his Trainer’s license for a period of 30 days and to fine him a sum of Rs.10,000/- as first infringement on STAR FUTURE;

b)      to suspend his Trainer’s license for a further period of 45 days and to fine him a sum of Rs.10,000/- as second infringement on AMARETTO;

c)      to impose on him an additional suspension of 10 days for his past Medication Infringements;

d)      his deposit was ordered to be refunded.

 

In view of the Stay granted to Trainer Katrak, his Trainer’s License will stand suspended w.e.f. 3rd October, 2011 to 26th December, 2011 (both days inclusive) and a fine of Rs.10,000/- for each case.

 

RE: APPEAL FROM TRAINER P SHROFF WITH REGARD TO POSITIVE REPORT IN RESPECT OF “ELOISE” (PLACED THIRD) IN RACE NO 59 – THE GIANTI BY GITANJALI LIFESTYLE INDIAN 1000 GUINEAS (GRADE 1) – RUN ON 12TH DECEMBER 2010:

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 30th September 2011 considered Appeal from Trainer P Shroff. The Board of Appeal studied all documents and papers that were submitted, including the Ground of Appeal and heard the submissions made by Trainer Shroff and having deliberated the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case decided to reject the Appeal. 

 

In view of the Stay granted to him on his punishment, his Trainer’s License will now stand suspended w.e.f. 3rd October 2011 to 1st November 2011 (both days inclusive) and a fine of Rs.10,000/-

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 30th September 2011 considered Appeal from Trainer Surech Chavan. The Board of Appeal studied all documents and papers that were submitted, including the Ground of Appeal and heard the submissions made by his Spokesman, Mr. Ivor Fernandes and WITA Ltd representatives comprising of Trainers Narendra Lagad and MK Jadhav, Mr. & Mrs Sayeed Arkati, Mr. Hussaifa Jabalpurwala and Mr. Ashfaque Shaikh and having deliberated the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case decided to allow the Appeal. 

 

RE APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE FOR 10TH SEPTEMBER 2011 FOR CARELESS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “SONEEYO” IN RACE NO 81 – THE PANCHSHIL MILLION – RUN ON 21ST AUGUST 2011: JOCKEY C RAJENDRA.

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 30th September 2011 considered Appeal from Jockey C Rajendra and interviewed him along with his Spokesman, Mr. Malcolm Kharadi. The Board of Appeal studied all documents and papers that were submitted, including the Ground of Appeal and heard the submissions made by Jockey C Rajendra and his Spokesman and having viewed the video recording of the race (all angels) in normal as well as slow motion and having deliberated the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case decided to reject the Appeal. 

In view of the Stay granted to Jockey C Rajendra, his Jockey’s License will now stand suspended for 8th October 2011.

The Board of Appeal studied all documents and papers that were submitted, including the Ground of Appeal and heard the submissions made by Jockey Stephane and his Spokesman as also Trainer Narendra Lagad, and having viewed the video recording of the race (all angels) in normal as well as slow motion and having deliberated the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case decided to allow the Appeal. 

 

RE APPEAL AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE FOR 1ST OCTOBER 2011 FOR CARELESS RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “FORTUNE HUNTER” IN RACE NO 97 – THE GRUEZI PLATE – RUN ON 28TH AUGUST 2011: JOCKEY NEERAJ RAWAL.

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 30th September 2011 considered  Appeal from Jockey Neeraj Rawal. The Board of Appeal studied all documents and papers that were submitted, including the Ground of Appeal and heard the submissions made by Jockey Neeraj Rawal and having viewed the video recording of the race (all angels) in normal as well as slow motion and having deliberated the matter at length and having applied their minds to the entire facts of the case decided to reject the Appeal. 

 

In view of the Stay granted to Jockey Neeraj Rawal, his Jockey’s License will now stand suspended for 8th October 2011.

 

RE: MERCY PETITION FROM JOCKEY I PASHA (MOONLIGHT BEAUTY).
