RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST.  FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(66) –THE WHITE METAL PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 7 

 

There was dual declaration in respect of Jockey P.S.Chouhan by Trainer Zadmal Singh on ARRECIFE and by Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha on THUNDERCLAP.  After questioning all concerned, Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha was permitted to declare Jockey P. S. Chouhan on THUNDERCLAP and Trainer Zadmal Singh declared Jockey Bhawani Singh on ARRECIFE.  In this connection, Jockey P. S. Chouhan has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting two mounts in the same race.

 

At the start, THUNDERCLAP (P. S. Chouhan, dr.1) jumped outwards on to NICOLLINI (Leigh Roche, dr.2).

 

At the start, ATHULYA (Nicky Mackay, dr.6) jumped outwards and carried FREE GOLD (David Egan, dr.7) who was marginally slow to begin, outwards.

 

At the top of the straight, THUNDERCLAP (P. S. Chouhan) shifted out on to ITS A DEAL (A. Sandesh). Thereafter, ITS A DEAL (A. Sandesh) shifted in under urgings and carried THUNDERCLAP (P. S. Chouhan) inwards on to FREE GOLD (David Egan) tightening it along the rails. After questioning, Jockey A. Sandesh has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

After the race, ITS A DEAL and THUNDERCLAP (examined on 03/01/2020) were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(67) – THE MAYOR’S TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners – 5

 

GDANSK (Neeraj Rawal) was reluctant to be stalled. Tr. S. Waheed has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, NOTORIETY (Leigh Roche) rushed the front gates. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race.

 

At the start, NOTORIETY (Leigh Roche, dr. 4) jumped inwards and made contact with GDANSK (Neeraj Rawal, dr. 3).

 

At the start, FLEUR DE LYS (C. S. Jodha) was observed to have stumbled and was steadied.

 

After the race, GDANSK was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, NOTORIETY and GDANSK were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(68) – THE SPINOZA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11 

 

On arrival at the start it was observed that the Tongue Strap on SHAPATH (P. S. Chouhan) had come off, as such the same was tied.

 

Passing the 150 metres, DRAGONMOSS (App. Malam Singh) shifted out under urgings and inconvenienced SHAPATH (P. S. Chouhan). After questioning, App. Malam Singh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Passing the 150 metres, GRAND ARCHITECT (App. M. Ayyar) veered out despite the rider’s efforts. Thereafter, in the final stages of the race GRAND ARCHITECT further shifted out and went across AMERICAN ODESSEY (Prabhu Naidu) and REGAL SHOT (Bhawani Singh). In view of this behavior of the gelding, Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures and to show his charge in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting with him to race.

 

After the race, GLORIANA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, NAVIGATOR and SANDALPHON were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(69) – THE DEMOCRATICUS PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 8 

 

At the start, TENERIFE (Nicky Mackay, dr.6) jumped inwards on to BARACK (Leigh Roche, dr.5), who in turn shifted in on to DAZZLING STAR (Bhawani Singh, dr.4) forcing it inwards and causing it to brush the haunches of KRIEGER (App. A. Prakash, dr.2) whereby the mare had to be checked. 

 

After the race, TIMELESS DEEDS was trotted and found to be sound. The mare had an abrasion at the left hind pastern.

 

RACE NO.5(70) – THE  CLINTON PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 10 

 

At the start, POWER OF THOR (Dashrath Singh, dr.6) jumped outwards and at the same time ADONIJAH (App. K. Pranil, dr.7) jumped out brushing against its stall and they made contact.

 

At the start, STRONG STORM (S. Zervan, dr.5) jumped inwards on to AGRAMI (A. Sandesh, dr.4).

 

After the race, STRONG STORM was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, AGRAMI and ADONIJAH were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Sr. V. O. reported that at the request of Trainer Faisal A. Abbas, AGRAMI was scoped at the Club’s Equine Hospital after the race and found to be EIPH (Gr.III). The mare is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

RACE NO.6(71) – THE M.D. MEHTA TROPHY : (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 7

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (LA TESTE) reported the loss of whip passing the 150 metres. This being his first instance of whip loss during the current Mumbai Meeting 2019/20, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, ISLE OF SKYE and MAGIC IN THE WIND were trotted and found to be sound. ISLE OF SKYE had a cut injury at the right hind pastern and an abrasion at both hind fetlock.

 

RACE NO.7(72) – THE SPINOZA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 11 

 

There was dual declaration in respect of Apprentice K. Nazil by Trainer Subhag Singh on HEXAHEDRON and by Trainer A. M. Jadhav on CRAY CRAY.  After questioning all concerned, Trainer A. M. Jadhav was permitted to declare Apprentice K. Nazil on CRAY CRAY and Trainer Subhag Singh declared Jockey C. S. Jodha on HEXAHEDRON.  In this connection Trainer Subhag Singh has been fined Rs. 1,000/- for declaring Apprentice K. Nazil without his consent.

 

ROMANTIC EYES (J. Chinoy) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

At the start, OSPREY ARROW (App. K. Pranil, dr. 3) jumped outwards, went across ROMANTIC EYES (J. Chinoy, dr. 4) who was marginally slow to begin and made contact with LOVELY FAIRY (H. Zeeshan, dr. 5).

 

At the start, LILIBETH (Dashrath Singh, dr. 7) jumped inwards and made contact with CRAY CRAY (K. Nazil, dr. 6) and had to be steadied.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd 3rd and 5th race viz. FLEUR DE LYS, GRAND ARCHITECT and CLASSICUS, and the special sample of NOTORIETY (2nd race), GLORIANA (3rd race) and AGRAMI (5th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RACE NO.1(60) –THE IBRAHIM A.RAHIMTOOLA TROPHY (DIV.II) RUN ON 29th DECEMBER, 2019:

 

QUAIL HOLLOW was declared to run with bandages on all four legs but was brought to the paddock without bandages. Trainer was informed about the same and bandages were applied before the gelding left the paddock. Trainer S. N. Joshi has been fined Rs. 1,000/- for his lapse.

The Sr. V.O. reported that STARRINGO was observed to have broken a blood vessel after morning track work on 2nd January, 2020 and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
