RACE NO.1(67) – THE JUVENTUS PLATE : (About) 1800 Metres – 6 Runners
The Sr.V.O. reported that HANLON’S RAZOR was examined at the stables on 02/09/2019 and found to be sound in the trot.
RACE NO.2(68) – THE ALAINDAIR TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – 5 Runners
KINGSMAN (P. Trevor) jumped out slow losing about 6 lengths at the start. Trainer Deepesh Narredu has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start AUBURN (S.Zervan, dr.2) jumped inwards and went across GRAND ACCORD (Bhawani Singh, dr.1) who was marginally slow to begin.
Passing the 400 metres, KINGSMAN (P. Trevor) was held up for room and had to be checked and change course.
RACE NO.3(69) – THE FIELD MARSHAL SAM MANECKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY:
(About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners
Soon after the start, NAMAQUA (App. K. Pranil, dr.9) was observed to have shifted out and had to be steadied.
Soon after the start, BETWEEN THE WATERS (C. S. Jodha, dr.3) and DAZZLING STAR (Neeraj Rawal, dr.4) were observed to have jostled.
From the 600 metres onwards, NAMAQUA (App. K. Pranil) was inclined outwards. Thereafter, approaching the final stages of the race, the gelding shied in thereby dislodging its rider. In view of the erratic behavior of the gelding, Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures and show his charge in a Mock Race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.
Approaching the 400 metres, App. K. Nazil (DOUBLE NINE) shifted out under urgings and carried SHIVALIK QUEEN (Amyn Merchant) outwards. App. K. Nazil has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
Approaching the 300 metres, TENERIFE (App. A. S. Peter) shifted out under urgings and carried DOUBLE NINE (App. K. Nazil) outwards on to SHIVALIK QUEEN (Amyn Merchant), causing the latter to be steadied. App. A. S. Peter has been cautioned.
Approaching the 100 metres, DOUBLE NINE (App. K. Nazil) shifted in thereby inconveniencing TENERIFE (App. A. S. Peter) who had to be steadied. App K.Nazil has been cautioned.
The Equine Hospital reported that TRUE GRIT had right eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation), BETWEEN THE WATERS had left eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation) and DOUBLE NINE had right eye injury (sore eye).
After the race, WILD FIRE was observed to have a gum injury.
RACE NO.4(70) – THE SOUTHERN COMMAND GOLD TROPHY : (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners
At the request of Trainer P.Shroff, NOTORIETY was examined at 1945 hours on 28/08/2019 and found to have fever, as such the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
At the request of Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait, WALK THE TALK was examined at 1145 hours on 01/09/2019 and found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
At the start, REVELATOR (N. S. Parmar, dr.2) shifted out and went across RATHER TIPPY (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) who was marginally slow to begin.
After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar (REVELATOR) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer S. K. Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.
After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal (RATHER TIPPY) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight. Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
The Equine Hospital reported that REVELATOR and BRILLIANT GOLD had left eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation).
After the race, REVELATOR and RATHER TIPPY (examined on 02/09/2019) were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.5(71) – THE ACCLAIMED PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 6 Runners
TITANIUM (C.S.Jodha) reared up and put his fore legs on the side platform of his stall. The gelding was examined by the Club’s Veterinary Officer who certified him fit to race.
Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs.3,000/- for putting in late declaration in respect of his charge NORTHERN SINGER.
The Equine Hospital reported that TITANIUM had left eye injury (sore eye, lacrimation, corneal ulcer).
After the race, TITANIUM was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(72) – THE COL.KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY:
(About) 1000 Metres – 9 Runners
Soon after the start, CEZANNE (Akshay, dr.3) shifted out thereby tightening LORD COMMANDER (A. Imran Khan, dr.4) and FIREWINGS (App.P.S.Kaviraj. dr.5) who had to be steadied. Jockey Akshay has been cautioned.
Soon after the start, MALAVIKA (Zameer Sayyed, dr.8) shifted in and went across GLORIANA (App.S. A. Amit, dr.7) causing the latter to be steadied. Jockey Zameer Sayyed has been cautioned.
Jockey Zameer Sayyed (MALAVIKA) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. On questioning, he stated that his mount hung-in in the straight and he had used the same as a corrective measure. In view of this behavior, Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.
After the race, FIREWINGS was found to be sore by the right fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
The Equine Hospital reported that LORD COMMANDER had right eye injury (sore eye)
RACE NO.7(73) – THE GLASNOST PLATE: (About) 1000 Metres – 12 Runners
At the start. MAJESTICAL (App.A.Prakash, dr.4) jumped inwards and made contact with PANARAEA (C.S.Jodha dr.3). Thereafter, PANARAEA shifted out on to MAJESTICAL who had to be steadied.
Soon after the start, DARING EAGLE (J.Chinoy, dr.7) shifted out thereby inconveniencing AME (A.Sandesh, dr.8). After the race, Jockey J.Chinoy reported that his mount was inclined outwards throughout the race as such he was unable to ride out to complete advantage. Trainer Narendre Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
From the top of the straight, WINDSOR FORTUNE (App.A.S.Peter) and CHEZZA (D.R,Shubham) were observed to have travelled wide for no apparent reason. After questioning, both the Apprentice Jockeys i.e App.A.S.Peter and App.D.R.Shubham have been cautioned.
The Equine Hospital reported that PADMAKOSA had injuries in both eyes (lacrimation from both eyes).
After the race, PADMAKOSA was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th race, viz. AUBURN, SULTAN SULEIMAN, SILVER FLAMES and CEZANNE, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
