RACE NO.1(75) –  THE MACCHUPICCHU PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 8 Runners

 

HOPE AND GLORY (P.Trevor) and ARTUS (P.S.Chouhan) jumped out slow losing about one length and 2 lengths respectively.

 

At the start, LADY IN RED (T.S.Jodha, dr.2) jumped inwards and went across ARTUS (P.S.Chouhan, dr.1) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

Approaching 100 metres, MAKINO ( D. R. Shubham) shifted in thereby tightening  ARC SHINE (C. Umesh) along the rails.  Apprentice D. R. Shubham has been cautioned.

 

An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of HOPE AND GLORY  and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, STAR COMRADE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind fetlock. Also, the gelding had a gum injury. HOPE AND GLORY and ARTUS were found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.2(76) – THE COL.KAIKHUSHROO MANECKJI BHARUCHA MEMORIAL TROPHY:

                                                                                                                                    (About) 1000 Metres – 8 Runners

 

Soon after the start, PRINCESS P (P.Trevor) shifted in and made contact with STALLONE (Amyn Merchant).

 

Passing 350 metres, WISE CHILD (K.Nazil) who was racing between PRINCESS P (P.Trevor) and MALAWI (H.Zeeshan) was tightened.

 

Approaching 100 metres, IMPALA (Dashrath Singh) shifted in thereby tightening GOD’S OWN (T. S. Jodha) along the rails. On being questioned after the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh stated that his mount hung in despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Approaching 100 metres,  WISE CHILD ( K. Nazil) shifted in and went across PRINCESS P (P. Trevor) who had to be steadied.

 

After the race, WISE CHILD was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, JUGGERNAUT and PRINCESS P (examined on 03/09/2018) were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that JUGGERNAUT had right eye injury (corneal ulcer and opacity).

 

RACE NO.3(77) – THE FIELD MARSHAL SAM MANECKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY:

                                                                                                                                    (About) 1400 Metres – 9 Runners

 

The Blinkers used on BRAINSTORM (P. Trevor) were observed to have been displaced during the race. Tr. P.Shroff has been fined Rs.2,000/- for faulty application of an equipment on his charge.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that TEXAS GOLD was examined at the stables on 03/09/2018 and was found to be sound in the trot.

 

RACE NO.4(78) –  THE SOUTHERN COMMAND GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer S.K.Sunderji, GOLD MEDALIST was examined at 1045  hours on 01/09/2018 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

ROGUE ONE (Dashrath Singh) jumped out slow losing about a length at the start.

 

After the race, UNIMAGINABLE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(79) –  THE JUVENTUS PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the request of Jockey D A Naik, the saddle on his mount CEZANNE was adjusted at the start.

 

In the process of stalling, GODSWORD (Dashrath Singh) kicked the gates, as such, the mare was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified her fit to race.

 

Soon after the start, GOLDEN DESTINY (Bhawani Singh) was observed to have taken an awkward stride  and had to be steadied.

 

After the race, Jockey G. Amit ( DESTINED FOR GLORY) reported the loss of whip at about 200 metres. On questioning, Jockey G.Amit stated that the whip had slipped out of his hand. This being the first instance of whip loss  during the current Pune Meeting 2018, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, SHIVALIK QUEEN was trotted and found to be sound. GOLDEN DESTINY had a gum injury.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that GOLDEN DESTINY had injuries to both the eyes (sore eyes).

 

RACE NO.6(80) – THE ISMAIL KHAN PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 10 Runners

 

On arrival at the start, SHAPATH (K.Nazil) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. and was certified fit to race.

 

After the race Jockey S.Zervan reported that the Bit used on his mount ARROWFIELD had shifted to the right and was displaced from the mouth, as such he could not ride out his mount to complete advantage. Tr. P.Shroff has been fined Rs.2,000/- for the lapse on his part.

 

After the race, ARROWFIELD and PRIMUM NON NOCERE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The Equine Hospital reported that SHER KHAN had injuries to both the eyes (sore eyes).

The urine samples of the winner of the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th race, viz. GOLD BOND, WISE CHILD, INTENSE STYLIST and WABI SABI, and the special sample of HOPE AND GLORY (1st race), UNIMAGINABLE (4th race) and SHIVALIK QUEEN (5th race),  were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
