RACE DAY REPORTS

FALSE RAILS WERE PLACED ABOUT 3 METRES WIDE FROM 1400 METRES TILL 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 6 METRES WIDE TILL THE WINNING POST. FALSE RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED ABOUT 5 METRES WIDE FROM 1200 METRES CHUTE TILL 1000 METRES.  

 

On a request from Trainer Shyam S.Habbu, permission was granted to Trainer P.Shroff to saddle his charge CARUSO in the 7th race, at his (Trainer Shyam S.Habbu’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(112) – THE CHAMPAGNE GOLD PLATE : (About) 1000 Metres – 10 Runners

 

ICE GATE (S.P.Ranjane) planted and lost about 7 lengths at the start. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, SHOWERS OF HEAVEN (Nirmal Jodha) shifted in and went on to STORM LIGHTNING (C.S.Jodha). Travelling some distance further, SHOWERS OF HEAVEN again shifted in and hampered the running of THREE ROSES (Dashrath Singh). Jockey Nirmal Jodha has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, SNOW KING was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the right hind coronet and left fore fetlock. THREE ROSES and EVEREADY had a cut injury at the left hind cannon and ANGEL’S DREAM had a gum injury. PRETTY IN PATPONG and SHOWERS OF HEAVEN were found to be sound.  

 

RACE NO.2(113) – THE STAR SHINE PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres – 4 Runners

 

Jockey D.K.Ashish (AIGAION) reported that from 800 metres onwards his mount dropped the bit and did not respond to his urgings. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the gelding and he reported that no abnormality was detected.

 

When given an opportunity to explain the poor performance of AIGAION, Trainer M.Narredu said that the gelding ran after a long break and there were faster horses in the race and this horse takes time to gallop. He said that AIGAION had run a good Mock race. The Trainer had opted to scope the horse.

 

The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of Trainer M.Narredu, AIGAION was scoped after the race at the Equine Hospital and reported to be having EIPH (Grade II).

 

After the race, PAPAKURA was observed to have an abrasion at both the hind fetlocks. SET TO FLY & AIGAION were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(114) – THE ODDS ON TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 4 Runners

                                      

At the request of Trainer Rehanullah Khan, SAINTS N SINNERS was examined at 0745 hours on 01/09/2013 and found to be sore by the right fore leg and had swelling at the fetlock, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

ANAHI (Y.S.Srinath) lugged out in the straight. Trainer S.S.Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey Bhanu Pratap Singh (EMERGING STAR) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for Improper use of the whip, wherein he had used the whip on the neck of his mount in a forehand position.

 

After the race, TURF LIGHTNING was observed to have an abrasion at the right hind bulb of heel and  ANAHI had a cut injury at the right fore cannon.

 

RACE NO.4(115) – THE ARTOIS PLATE: (About) 2400 Metres – 8 Runners

 

After being stalled, OXBRIDGE (Neeraj Rawal) started kicking. The gelding was taken out of the stall and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Dashrath Singh, rider of  RAZEENAA (Placed Second) against ANTONIUS MAXIMUS (C.S.Jodha, Placed First). The reason being, at about 200 metres, Jockey C.S.Jodha hit him on the hand with his whip  and then again in the final strides, he hit him on his hand, due to which he could not whip as quickly, which cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to overrule the objection.

 

Near 500 metres, ANTONIUS MAXIMUS (C.S.jodha) shifted in and caused interference JEN’S GLORY (S.Sunil). Jockey C.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, OXBRIDGE was observed to have an abrasion at the left hind pastern and had also lost its right fore plate. ALLEGIANCE and ANTONIUS MAXIMUS were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(116)  – THE GIACOSA PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

DHISHKYAON (A.J.Nilesh) took a fly jump.

 

At the start, FOUR STAR GENERAL (Y.S.Srinath, dr.7) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to BROWN DYNAMITE (Vikram Jodha, dr.8) who in turn went on to CONCORDE (T.S.Jodha, dr.9) who caused NEVADA (Zameer Sayyed, dr.10) to travel wide.

 

Soon after the start, MIDNIGHT RUN (Shrikant Kamble) shifted inwards and inconvenienced CAESARS WIFE (Nirmal Jodha).

 

Jockey A.J.Nilesh (DHISHKYAON) reported that his mount hung outwards throughout the race and he was at a disadvantage in riding out his mount. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

FOUR STAR GENERAL (Y.S.Srinath) hung out badly in the straight thereby placing its Rider at a disadvantage. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (ZAAGROS) was observed not to have ridden out his mount during the race. After the race, the Jockey reported that his mount hung inwards throughout the race and he was at a disadvantage in riding out his mount. Subsequently, Trainer Narendra Lagad lodged a verbal complaint that the Jockey had not ridden out his mount and also disputed the Jockey’s claim that the filly hung in during the race. An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of ZAAGROS and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

After the race, FOUR STAR GENERAL was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the right fore cannon. CONCORDE had an abrasion at the right hind pastern and NEVADA had lost its right hind shoe. ZAAGROS was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(117) – THE AKKASAHEB MAHARAJ TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – 9 Runners

 

ORITO (T.S.Jodha) was restless in the stall. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

NEFYN (N.S.Parmar) lost about 2 lengths at the start.

 

Passing 200 metres, AMADEUS (Imran Chisty) shifted out and at the same ORITO (T.S.Jodha) was ridden out on the inside of AMADEUS and shortly thereafter was tightened due to lack of room and steadied.  

 

After the race, AMADEUS was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind cannon, WEIZHOU had a cut injury at the right hock and MASTER BULLET had lost its left hind plate.

 

RACE NO.7(118) – THE  PANCHSHIL JUVENILE MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres – 8 Runners

 

WAR HORSE bolted on the way to the start. After consent from the trainer, the gelding was withdrawn from the race before coming under the Starter’s order.

 

ONE KEPT SECRET (Dashrath Singh) played up in the stall. The gelding was taken out of the stall and examined by the Club’s V.O. who certified him fit to race.  Tr.S.K.Sunderji has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, CARUSO (Imran Chisty) was tightened due to a packed field and lost position.

 

Near 1000 metres, CARUSO (Imran Chisty) was steadied and lost position while racing on the inside of ONE KEPT SECRET (Dashrath Singh).

After the race, DEEP DIVER was found to be sound, but having a cut injury at the left hind coronet. ISADORO, ONE KEPT SECRET, WAR HORSE and DIOR were found to be sound.

 

ONE KEPT SECRET (Dashrath Singh) was placed fifth and DIOR (N.S.Parmar) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

RACE NO.8(119) – THE  ASPIRING STAR PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 9 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer Karthik G,  SUPREME MINSTREL was examined at 0710 hours on 31/08/2013 and found to be sore by the left fore leg, as such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

Passing 600 metres, SHERLOCK HOLMES (N.S.Parmar) was tightened while racing on the inside of ZIDAAN (Bhanu Pratap Singh) who was inconvenienced due to the presence of BOMBARDIER (D.K.Ashish) on its outside.

 

RACE NO.9(120) – THE  GIACOSA PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres – 11 Runners

 

FOINAVEN (C.S.Jodha) was reluctant to be stalled and in the process its head gear came off which was put back. Trainer Faisal A.Abbas has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Near 100 metres, SEACAUCUS (D.K.Ashish) shifted in and hampered the running of SUMMER ECLIPSE (A.Ashhad Asbar). Jockey D.K.Ashish explained that filly lugged in throughout the race.  Trainer Damodaran D.Pillai has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (SUMMER ECLIPSE) reported that his mount ran green.

 

Near 1100 metres, FOINAVEN (C.S.Jodha) shifted in and tightened ARAVALI (Neeraj Rawal), who in turn caused interference to INDISPENSABLE (Zameer Sayyed). As such, Jockey C.S.Jodha has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, SEACAUCUS and ARAVALI (examined at the stable) were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of  the 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th & 8th race, viz. THREE ROSES, ANCIENT WARRIOR, ISHPINGO, INDIAN TOUCH and BOMBARDIER, as also that of DEEP DIVER & TRISARA (7th race) and the special sample of AIGAION (2nd race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
