RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 4 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) LEADING TO 6 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES, 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 10 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 11 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES RUN AT THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 2000 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1800 METRES, 4 METRES AWAY FROM 1600 METRES TO 1400 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 8 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(128) –THE SONNY BRAR TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 3 - NO REPORT

RACE NO.2(129) – THE FOREST FLAIR PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 8

On the arrival at the start, Jockey J Chinoy reported that the Tongue Strap on his mount GRAND EYES had come off, as such, the same was fixed.

At the start, JACK FLASH (App.K.Nazil, dr.3) jumped outwards on to RUN HAPPY (Santosh G., dr.4) who had to be steadied.

After the race, GRAND EYES was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

RACE NO.3(130) – THE DR.JAGJIT SINGH TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9

In the final 50 metres, REVELATOR (Nicky Mackay) shifted out under use of the whip thereby taking the ground of POLYNEICES (Neeraj Rawal) who was racing on its haunches. After questioning. Jockey Nicky Mackay has been fined Rs 5,000/-.

RACE NO.4(131) – THE N.M.IRANI TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres –Runners- 11

Soon after the start, MISS MUFFET (Nicky Mackay) shifted in and went across SPLASHING (Leigh Roche) who had to be steadied. Jockey Nicky Mackay has been cautioned.

CHANCELLOR (P.Trevor) was observed to have maintained an erratic course throughout the race thereby inconveniencing MISS MUFFET (Nicky Mackay).

Approaching the 800 metres, LIVE BY NIGHT (C.S.Jodha) shifted in thereby tightening CASANOVA PRINCE (A.Sandesh) along the rails. After the race, Jockey C.S.Jodha reported that his mount was shying away from the other runners and was also running green.

After the race, RAECHELLES PRIDE was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.5(132) – THE DR.S.C.JAIN SPRINTERS’ CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.2): (About) 1200 Metres –Runners- 5

At the request of Jockey Neeraj Rawal, the saddle on his mount AUGUSTUS CAESAR was adjusted at the starting gate.

At the start, CLYMENE (C.S.Jodha, dr.4) jumped outwards on to AUGUSTUS CAESAR (Neeraj Rawal, dr.5).

After the race, INTENSE STYLIST was trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.6(133) – THE COLE CENTENARY GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners – 11

On the arrival at the start, FURIOUS N’ FAST (App.D.R.Shubham) was examined by the Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified the mare fit to race.

There was a dual declaration of Jockey Neeraj Rawal by Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed on GENAU and by Trainer Bezan Chenoy on GRAND ARCHITECT. After questioning all concerned, Trainer Altamaash A.Ahmed was permitted to declare Jockey Neeraj Rawal on GENAU and Trainer Bezan Chenoy declared Jockey Akshay on GRAND ARCHITECT. In this connection, Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting two rides in the same race.

At the start, MEMORABLE MEMORIES (A.Sandesh, dr.2) jumped outwards and at the same time AGRAMI (Amyn Merchant, dr.4) jumped inwards thereby tightening STICK TO THE PLAN (C.S.Jodha, dr.3).

After the race, FURIOUS N’ FAST, AGRAMI and REALLY ROYALE were trotted and found to be sound.

RACE NO.7(134)–THE MAHARASHTRA, GUJARAT & GOA AREA TROPHY:(About) 2000 Metres – Runners - 5

In the final stages of the race, ITHACA (David Egan) shifted in thereby tightening PEERLESS (N.S.Parmar) along the rails. After the race Jockey David Egan reported that his mount hung-in from the top of the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

RACE NO.8(135) – THE FOREST FLAIR PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1400 Metres – Runners – 8

The Sr.V.O. reported that ARABIAN DREAM was examined at the Saddling Enclosure and found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

At the request of Apprentice K Pranil, his mount MASAR was examined by Club’s Sr.V.O. who certified the gelding fit to race.

Passing the 100 metres, GANDALF (App.A.S.Peter) shifted in and went across MASAR (App.K.Pranil) who had to be steadied. App.A.S.Peter has been cautioned.

After the race, NATIVE PRINCE was trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2^nd, 4^th and 6^th race, viz. SO SPLENDID, MISS MUFFET and MEMORABLE MEMORIES, and the urine and blood sample of IRON AGE & INTENSE STYLIST (Winner & Second Placed – 5^th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE ENDOSCOPY REPORT SUBMITTED BY DR.P.T.KHAMBATTA IN RESPECT OF “AWESOME ONE” AND THE RUNNING OF THE COLT IN RACE NO.28 – THE HALL OF FAMER TROPHY RUN ON 8^TH DECEMBER, 2019 :

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Thursday, 9^th January, 2020 considered the evidence obtained by the Stipendiary Stewards in the above enquiry together with their note thereon and directed the Stipendiary Stewards to deal with the matter. Accordingly, the Stipendiary Stewards decided to fine Trainer Deepesh Narredu a sum of Rs.10,000/- for failing to record in his Medication Log Book the steam inhalation given to AWESOME ONE post the endoscope on 2^nd December, 2019 thus contravening the Medication Rules.

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 9^th February, 2020 considered appeal dated 17^th January, 2020 from Trainer Deepesh Narredu in the above connection and having considered all papers, documents and proceedings and having heard Trainer Deepesh Narredu and having deliberated the matter, decided to allow his appeal.

RE : MERCY PETITION FROM JOCKEY P.S.CHOUHAN IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENCE FROM 24^TH JANUARY, 2020 TO 16^TH FEBRUARY, 2020 AND A FINE OF RS.20,000/- FOR CARRYING A WHIP OF AN UNAPPROVED PATTERN INTO THE PADDOCK – RACE NO.64 – THE MAHARAJA JIWAJIRAO SCINDIA TROPHY (GR.2) RUN ON SUNDAY, 29^TH DECEMBER, 2019 :

The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 9^th February, 2020 considered Mercy Petition dated 4^th February, 2020 from Jockey P.S.Chouhan in the above connection.

The Stewards of the Club considered all papers, documents and proceedings and having heard Jockey P.S.Chouhan and having deliberated the matter, decided to allow his Mercy Petition and reduced the period of suspension of his Jockey’s licence up to and inclusive of 9^th February, 2020.
