PUNE MEETING 2022, THIRD DAY, SATURDAY, 6TH AUGUST, 2022.

RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES WIDE IN THE CHUTE.

 

On a request from Trainer Subhag Singh permission was granted to Trainer Zadmal Singh to saddle his charge MARLBORO MAN in the 6th race, at his own (Trainer Subhag Singh’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(15) – SOUTH AFRICAN RACING ON PLAY.RWITC.COM PLATE: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS -  6

 

At the request of Tr. S. Waheed his charge WILLY WONKAA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. at 0915 a.m. on 6th August 2022 and found to have swelling on all four fetlock joints and sore by right hind leg. Hence the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, TRUTH AND DARE (R. Ajinkya, dr.4) jumped outwards and made contact with REGAL PRINCE (N. Nadeem, dr.5).

 

Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe (BRAZOS) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. After the race, Jockey Prashant P. Dhebe stated that his mount hung-in throughout the straight as such he had used the whip as a corrective measures and the same was borne out from the video recording of the race. In view of the same, Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BRAZOS was trotted and found to  be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(16) – THE CABRIOLET PLATE  - DIVISION II: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  12

 

Trainer Altaf Hussain has been fined Rs.1,000/- for accepting with his charge MOZELLE in two races on the same day. As per the General Conditions published in the Prospectus, the filly was struck out from this race.

 

At the start, FIDATO (A. Sandesh, dr.5) jumped outwards onto SKY HAWK (Amyn Merchant, dr.6) who inturn shifted out onto MYSTERIOUS GIRL (K. Nazil, dr.7) at the same time MARINE GIRL (N. S. Parmar, dr.8) shifted in and jostled with MYSTERIOUS GIRL.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (FIDATO) reported that his mount lugged out in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, FARRELL, FIDATO, HAGIBIS & SILVER STEPS were trotted and found to be sound. FIDATO was observed to have lost its left hind shoe.

 

RACE NO.3(17) – THE MAGANSINGH P. JODHA TROPHY: (ABOUT) 1800 METRES – RUNNERS -  6

 

At the request of Tr. Karthik Ganapathy LADIDA was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. in the saddling enclosure as the mare had flipped and fell down while saddling. The mare was observed to have injury on her right knee and both hocks. Hence the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, OWN VOICE (R. Ajinkya, dr.5) jumped inwards and at the same time BOTERO (P. Trevor, dr.3) jumped outwards due to which DJANGO (Yash Narredu, dr.4) drawn between them had to be steadied.

 

Passing the 350 metres, Jockey R. Ajinkya (OWN VOICE) shifted in under urgings thereby tightening and taking the ground of AAH BELLA (App. A. Prakash) causing the latter to check and change course. As such, Jockey R. Ajinkya has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (BOTERO) reported that his mount was running green in the straight. As such Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey A. Sandesh (EXEMPLIFY) reported that his mount was lugging-in in the straight. Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, BOTERO was trotted and found to be sound in the stables.

 

RACE NO.4(18) – THE A. J. WADIA PLATE: (ABOUT) 1000 METRES –RUNNERS- 11

 

At the request of Tr. Narendra Lagad, TURMERIC TOWER was examined on 4th August 2022 in the stable area and was observed to have cut injury on right hind fetlock and bruise on left hind shank. Hence the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

WAFY (M. Ayyar, dr.3) jumped out throwing its head thereby losing about 2 lengths at the start and thereafter the gelding trail the field. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to ensure that his charge puts a reasonable performance in future.

 

SUITED ACES (App. P. S. Kaviraj) swayed its heads as the start was effected as such the mare lost considerable grounds. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the mare to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

In the final stages of the race, COGNOSCO (A. Sandesh) shifted out under pressure and went across HILAD (App. Haridas Gore). Jockey A. Sandesh has been cautioned.

 

After the race, Jockey T. S. Jodha (SPIRITUAL ROCK) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Himmat Singh has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey S. J. Sunil (CARLOS) reported that passing the 200 metres his mount lugged-in despite his efforts, as such he had to stop riding. The gelding was subjected to Veterinary examination, the gelding was trotted and found to be sound. As such, Trainer Adil Dajee has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, App. A. Prakash (DOWSABEL) reported the loss of whip at about 200 metres. This being his second instance during the current Pune Meeting 2022, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, CARLOS was trotted and found to be sound in the stables.

 

The equine hospital reported that SPIRITUAL ROCK had left eye injury.

 

RACE NO.5(19) – THE AUGUST HANDICAP: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS -  9

 

At the start, GALWAY BAY (Yash Narredu, dr.3) jumped inwards and made contact with MOZELLE (T. S. Jodha, dr.2) thereafter EMPEROR RODERIC (P. S. Chouhan, dr.4) leaned inwards and made contact with GALWAY BAY.

 

Passing the 400 metres, KARYNA (N. S. Parmar) racing between MONT BLANC (App. Mustakim Alam) and GALWAY BAY (Yash Narredu) was tightened and had to steadied. Jockey Yash Narredu has been cautioned.

 

After the race, KARYNA was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(20) – THE ZAVARAY S. POONAWALLA EVE CHAMPION TROPHY (GRADE 3): (ABOUT) 2000 METRES – RUNNERS – 5

 

The equine hospital reported that FAITH OF SUCCESS had left eye injury.

 

RACE NO.7(21) – THE TO THE MANOR BORN PLATE: (ABOUT) 1400 METRES – RUNNERS -  12

 

On the arrival at the start, at the request of Jockey K. Nazil (TASMAN) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

FLASH FORCE (R. Shelar, dr.3) refused to stall despite substantial efforts as such the gelding was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s order. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

LUMINOSITY (App. P. S. Kaviraj, dr.8) played up after being stall. As such the gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race. Trainer H. J. Antia has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

MARLBORO MAN (T. S. Jodha, dr.4) was reluctant to stall. Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, CAMPAIGN (App. M. S. Deora, dr.5) jumped outwards onto CHANCELLOR (A. Sandesh, dr.6) who had to be steadied.

 

Soon after the start, BAKU (App. Haridas Gore) shifted in and made contact with POWER OF INFINITY (S. G. Prasad). App. Haridas Gore has been cautioned.

 

Passing the 550 metres, due to a tightly packed field CHANCELLOR (A. Sandesh) had to be steadied thereafter in the straight CHANCELLOR was denied a clear passage as such had to check and change course.

 

Passing the 350 metres, BOLD ADVANCE (Dashrath Singh) leaned inwards onto CAMPAIGN (App. M. S. Deora) who inturn shifted in tightening MARLBORO MAN (T. S. Jodha) along the rails. On being questioned, Jockey Dashrath Singh stated that his mount hung-in despite his efforts. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh (RUBIK STAR) reported that his mount hung-in from the 400 metres despite his efforts. Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to take remedial measure, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey K. Nazil (TASMAN) reported that his mount was not striding freely and also was leaning-in in the final stages of the race. The gelding was subjected to Veterinary examination and on examination the gelding had swelling on his right fore fetlock, the gelding has to be passed fit by Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, RUBIK STAR, POWER OF INFINITY, TASMAN & LUMINOSITY were trotted and found to be sound.

 

The equine hospital reported that MARLBORO MAN had left eye injury.

 

RACE NO.8(22) – THE CABRIOLET PLATE  - DIVISION I: (ABOUT) 1200 METRES – RUNNERS -  13

 

At the start, LORD AND MASTER (App. Kirtish  Bhagat, dr.10) jumped inwards onto FULL OF GRACE (P. Trevor, dr.9).

 

Passing the 350 metres, LAGERTHA (Amyn Merchant) shifted out and went across LOVE WARRIOR (P. Vinod) who had to be checked. As such, Jockey Amyn Merchant has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, App. Kirtish Bhagat (LORD AND MASTER) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey P. Trevor (FULL OF GRACE) reported that his mount was hesitant to take gaps and was shying away from other horses.

 

After the race, LORD AND MASTER, LOVE WARRIOR, FULL OF GRACE & GILT EDGE were trotted and found to be sound.

The urine samples of the POWER OF THOR (Winner – 1st race), EXEMPLIFY (Winner – 3rd race), A STAR IS BORN (Winner – 6th race) & TAIMUR (Second – 6th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
