RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 4 METRES AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED AT ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES LEADING TO 2 METRES AWAY AT 1200 METRES AND 4 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(160) – THE PONTA DELGADO PLATE  - DIVISION II: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  9

 

At the start, NUSRAT (App. A. S. Peter, dr.6) jumped inwards onto AURELE (M. Ayyar, dr.5) who inturn shifted in thereby forcing MARIELLA (S. Zervan, dr.4) inwards. App A S Peter has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

Soon after the start, DAULAT MAI (Akash Agarwal) shifted outwards and made contact with DOWSABEL (App. A. Prakash). Jockey Akash Agarwal has been cautioned.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, DAULAT MAI (Akash Agarwal) shifted in under urging onto ALLIED ATTACK (App. P. Shinde). After questioning Jockey Akash Agarwal has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, App. A. Prakash reported that his mount DOWSABEL hung-in in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After The race, ALLIED ATTACK & DOWSABEL were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(161) – THE M. M. T. PANDOLE PLATE: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners -  3

 

In the final stages of the race, THE BAWAJI (Neeraj Rawal) leaned inwards at the same time Jockey P. Trevor checked his mount BOLD LEGEND in anticipation. Jockey Neeraj Rawal and Jockey P Trevor have been cautioned.

 

Jockey N. S. Parmar has been fined Rs.1,000/- for wearing wrong racing colors on his mount SUCCESSOR.

 

RACE NO.3(162) – THE RACING JOURNALISTS TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  6

 

On the arrival at the start, DESERT FIRE (App. A. K. Aniket) was examined by the Club’s Sr. V.O. who certified him fit to race.

 

At the start, EXCELLENT GOLD (Akash Agarwal, dr.3) jumped outwards onto DESERT FIRE (App. A. K. Aniket, dr.4) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

After the race, DESERT FIRE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(163) – THE JOCKEYS TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners- 7

 

SUFIYAH (App. Haridas Gore, dr.7) planted in the stall taking no practical part in the race. In view of above, Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Starter, before next accepting to race.

 

Soon after the start, KARDASHIAN (App. A. Prakash) shifted in under urgings and went across WAVERUNNER (S. A. Amit) & NORTHERN SINGER (App. A. K. Aniket) causing both to be checked thereafter further shifted in thereby forcing CIPHER (App. A. S. Peter) inwards onto GUSTY GIRL (App. P. Vinod). After questioning App. A. Prakash has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

After the race, NORTHERN SINGER was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(164) – THE TAPPED TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  10

 

At the start, COLD PURSUIT (App. A. S. Peter, dr.4) leaned out at the same time MOONSHOT (N. S. Parmar, dr.6) leaned inwards due to which FASSBINDER (R. S. Bhati, dr.5) drawn between them was tightened for room and dropped back.

 

It was observed that RUBIK STAR (C. S. Jodha, dr.9) jumped out awkwardly throwing its head. After the race, Jockey C. S. Jodha reported that his mount was trying to veering in after the start and had to be steadied. In view of the behavior, Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the gelding to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey T. S. Jodha rider of MAJORELLA BLUE was observed to have dropped his hands before passing the winning post thereby losing a certain second place. After questioning and not being satisfied with his explanation tendered, as such, he has been suspended for 2 race days i.e. first two race days of Pune Meeting 2022 (permitted to ride work/mock race) (both days inclusive) (dates for the same will be intimated in due course).

 

After the race, FULL OF GRACE (S. Zervan) was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, SANDMAN & COLD PURSUIT were trotted and found to be sound and SUNRISE found to be in distress.

 

RACE NO.6(165) – THE J. ROBINSON PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 14

 

Jockey S. A. Amit has been cautioned for weighing out late, due to which his mount DAWNSTAR came late in the paddock.

 

CAMILLE (Dashrath Singh, dr.3) jumped out slowly losing about 5 lengths at the start. In view of above, Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

BRAZOS (N. S. Parmar, dr.7) jumped out slowly losing about a length at the start.

 

PERCIVALE (Shrikant Kamble, dr.5) jumped out and brushed the haunches of KING OF KATNI (R. S. Bhati, dr.6) and thereafter refuse to raise a fluent gallop and lost considerable ground. In view of above, Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.

 

Jockey Raghuveer Singh (FLEUR DE LYS) was observed to have shifted in and cut across the field before the red marker. Jockey Raghuveer Singh has been severely cautioned.

 

Passing the 600 metres, CANDESCENT STAR (App. Kirtish Bhagat) leaned inwards thereby taking the ground of GALLOPING GLORY (App. A. Prakash). After questioning App. Kiritish Bhagat has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, TASMAN was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(166) – THE A. CAMPBELL TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners -  8

 

Jockey K. Nazil has been cautioned for weighing out late, due to which his mount CHAT came late in the paddock.

 

Jockey N. S. Parmar has been cautioned for weighing out late, due to which his mount WHATSINANAME came late in the paddock.

 

WHATSINANAME (N. S. Parmar) was reluctant to reach the starting point thereby delaying the start. As such Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been asked to take remedial measures and ensure that his charge reaching the starting point on time, before next accepting to race.

 

WHATSINANAME (N. S. Parmar, dr.6) was reluctant to stall. In view of above, Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, LIBERATION (C. S. Jodha, dr.4) leaned inwards onto KIRKINES (Neeraj Rawal, dr.3) who inturn shifted in taking the grounds of ZBOROWSKI (H. Zeeshan, dr.2) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

It was observed that DISTINCTION (P. Trevor) had drifted out from the top of the straight despite rider’s efforts and finished the race on the extreme outside. In view of above, Trainer P. Shroff has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar reported that his mount WHATSINANAME lugged out in the straight despite his efforts. As such, Trainer Asad Siddiqui has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey Neeraj Rawal reported that his mount KIRKINES lugged out in the straight despite his efforts. As such Trainer Altamaash A. Ahmed has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CHAT, DISTINCTION & KIRKINES were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(167) – THE PONTA DELGADO PLATE  - DIVISION I: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  9

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.1,000/- for weighing out late due to which his mount COGNOSCO came late in the paddock.

 

M’SARRAT (App. Haridas Gore, dr.2) was reluctant to stall. In view of above, Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to give his charge more gate practice and show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

Passing the 700 metres, JUICED (N. S. Parmar) was observed to have forced the passage between M’SARRAT (App. Haridas Gore) and SIM SIM (App. A. Prakash) due to which SIM SIM was inconvenienced and went wide. After the race, on questioning Jockey N. S. Parmar stated that his mount was very keen and despite his efforts had forced the gap between front runners as the same was borne from the video recording no action has been taken against Jockey N. S. Parmar other than cautioned.

 

After the race, App. P. Vinod reported that his mount FINCH was running green in the straight.

 

It was observed that the bridle used on SIM SIM (App. A. Prakash) was displaced during the race. In view of above lapse Trainer Faisal Abbas has been fined Rs.5,000/- for faulty equipment.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd, 5th & 8th race, viz. THE BAWAJI, SUNRISE & SIM SIM, were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:

 

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “BOTERO” (DRAWN 2) IN RACE NO. 106 – THE KUMAR R. DALAL CUP (DIST. 2400 MTRS) RUN ON 27TH FEBRUARY 2022:

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 10th April 2022, viewed the video recording of Race no.106 run on 27th February 2022. They also considered all the papers and proceedings before them and heard the submissions made by Jockey P. Trevor and Trainer P. Shroff having deliberated the matter at length, the Stewards decided to fine Jockey P. Trevor a sum of Rs.15,000/- for injudicious riding.

 

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “KING’S RANSOM” (DRAWN 4) IN RACE NO. 130 – THE FORBES BREEDERS’ JUVENILE FILLIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP (GR.3) RUN ON 20TH MARCH 2022 :

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 17th April 2022, viewed the video recording of Race No. 130 run on 20th March 2022. They also considered all the papers and proceedings before them and heard the submissions made by Jockey P. S. Chouhan through Video calling and Trainer P. Shroff. Having deliberated the matter at length, the Stewards have decided to fine Jockey P. S. Chouhan a sum of Rs.10,000/- for riding an ill-judged race.

 

RE: ENQUIRY INTO INVOLVEMENT IN BETTING AND PASSING ON STABLE INFORMATION/TIPS TO PUNTERS FOR PERSONAL GAIN – APP. A. K. ANIKET:

 

In connection with the captioned subject matter the Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 17th April 2022, considered all the papers and proceedings before them and having heard the submissions made by App. A. K. Aniket, as also the Stipendiary Stewards, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by App. A. K. Aniket and held him guilty of improper practice under Rule-101 (iii) & (iv) of the Rules of Racing of the Club wherein he admitted before the Stipendiary Stewards and the Stewards of the Club that he had not only indulged in betting but were also sharing tips for monetary gains. Further, scrutiny of his Google pay account revealed that certain cash deposits had been made into his account, by the persons he was in contact with and he confirmed at the meeting that these cash deposits received by him were related to betting.

 

In view of the above, the Stewards of the Club were of the view that the above breach of Rule-101 (iii) & (iv) of the Rules of Racing warranted a punishment of Fifteen Calendar Months. However, keeping in mind that he was co-operative and forthcoming in the enquiry and had admitted his guilt, the Stewards of the Club took a lenient view and decided to impose on him a punishment covering Twelve Calendar Months. Therefore, should he apply for a Jockey’s license for the season 2022/23, it shall not be granted to him.

 

Please note that during the period of his punishment :-

 

i)              He is not permitted to ride work;

ii)             He is not permitted to attend racing, on course or off course.

iii)            All other disabilities applicable to a person suspended/disqualified shall apply to him.         

 

SUB: MERCY PETITION DATED 10TH APRIL 2022, BY JOCKEY K. NAZIL, IN RESPECT OF THE PUNISHMENT IMPOSED ON HIM BY THE STIPENDIARY STEWARDS I.E. TO SUSPEND HIS JOCKEY’S LICENCE W.E.F. 03/04/2022 TO 24/04/2022 – ENQUIRY INTO COMPLAINT FROM DR. RITESH P. MISTRY, CLUB’S MEDICAL OFFICER AGAINST HIM FOR MISBEHAVIOUR WITH HIM AND HIS STAFF MR. SEBASTIAN THOMAS:

 

The Stewards of the Club having considered Mercy Petition dated 10th April 2022, from Jockey K. Nazil decided to allow the same thereby reducing his suspension from four to two race days i.e. upto and inclusive of 10th April 2022.
