RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METERS AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METERS (MILE CHUTE) UP TO THE WINNING POST.
FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METERS AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1800 METERS TO 1000 METERS.
RACE NO.1(152) – THE V. R. MENON PLATE - DIVISION II: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 10
At the start, REGAL PRINCE (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.4) jumped outwards onto INTENSE BELIEF (App. P. Vinod, dr.5).
Passing the 700 metres, INTENSE BELIEF (App. P. Vinod) shifted out and made contact with COGNOSCO (H. M. Akshay). App. P. Vinod has been cautioned.
Passing the 400 metres, AMPED (D. S. Daman) was held up for room and had to be steadied.
COGNOSCO (H. M. Akshay) maintained an erratic course in the straight. Jockey H. M. Akshay has been cautioned.
After the race, CAMDEN TOWN was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, AMPED had a cut injury on left hind coronet.
After the race, ALPHA GENE had a cut injury on right hind fetlock.
RACE NO.2(153) – THE SERJEANT AT ARMS TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 4
GAZINO (App. A. S. Peter) was marginally slow to begin at the start.
Passing 1000 metres, GOLDEN GUEST (Neeraj Rawal) leaned inwards onto JOAQUIN (S. Zervan) who had to be steadied. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.
After the race, Jockey S. Zervan reported that his mount JOAQUIN leaned inwards in the straight. Trainer Shazaan Shah has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.3(154) – THE A. HOYT PLATE: (About) 1800 Metres – Runners - 4
At the request of Trainer P. Shroff, MANDEVILLE was examined in the stable area at 7.00 p.m. on 7/4/2022 and was found to be sore from right fore, the horse was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, AAH BELLA and MYSTICAL ROSE was trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.4(155) – THE DIEGO RIVERA TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres –Runners- 6
At the start, HOOVES OF THUNDER (P. Trevor, dr.5) jumped outwards onto MICHIGAN (C. S. Jodha, dr.6) who was marginally slow to begin.
Soon after the start, MICHIGAN (C. S. Jodha) was inclined outwards and had to be steadied.
RACE NO.5(156) – THE MUNICIPAL COMMISSIONER'S TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners - 10
At the start, CHANCELLOR (App. P. Vinod, dr.3) jumped outwards.
At the start, NORD (S. A. Amit, dr.6) jumped outwards and made contact with IRREPRESSIBLE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.7).
Soon after the start, SHE IS ON FIRE (C. S. Jodha) stopped galloping. In view of above, Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been asked to show his charge in a mock race to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards, before next accepting to race.
Passing the 1400 metres, ANIMOUS (App. A. Prakash) overreached and clipped the heels of MURWARA PRINCESS (T. S. Jodha).
Passing the 1000 metres, JUGHEAD (D. R. Shubham) drifted out and thereafter stopped galloping. Thereafter, Sr. V. O. reported that the gelding collapsed and could not be revived with the treatment given on the Track and died.
Passing the 400 metres, MIDAS TOUCH (Vishal N. Bunde) leaned inwards and went across IRREPRESSIBLE (Neeraj Rawal). Jockey Vishal N. Bunde has been cautioned.
Passing the 350 metres, IRREPRESSIBLE (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out thereby bumping and forcing SPECULATOR (S. Zervan) outwards. After questioning Jockey Neeraj Rawal and not being satisfied with his explanation, his Jockey licence has been suspended for one race day i.e. should he apply for a Jockey’s licence for the Season 2022/23 and if the same is granted to him, kindly note that his licence shall stand suspended on first day of Pune Meeting 2022 date of which will be intimated in due course (permitted to ride work/mock race) for careless riding.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor reported that his mount SINNER hung out in the straight despite his efforts. Trainer Imtiaz Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, ANIMOUS and MIDAS TOUCH were trotted and found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(157) – THE V. R. MENON PLATE - DIVISION I: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 11
Despite repeated reminders Jockey Neeraj Rawal was persistently late to enter the paddock thereby delaying the race. As such he has been fined Rs.2,000/- for the lapse.
After being stalled, DORMAMMU (R. Rupesh, dr.8) was restless and not allowing its rider to settle in the stall. In view of above, Trainer Karthik Ganapathy has been asked to give the colt more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
At the start, DAULAT MAI (Akash Agarwal, dr.3) jumped outwards onto SO SO SPECIAL (App. Kirtish Bhagat, dr.4) who had to be steadied.
Soon after the start, CHARLIE (H. M. Akshay) maintained an erratic course thereby inconveniencing ZACAPA (Dashrath Singh). Jockey H. M. Akshay has been cautioned.
CHARLIE (H. M. Akshay) was observed to have hung out in the straight despite Jockey’s efforts. Trainer Vinesh has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.
After the race, Jockey P. Trevor reported the saddle on his mount BRILLIANT LIGHT had slipped back during the race. This being the second offence of faulty saddling during the Mumbai Meeting 2021/22, Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been fined Rs.5,000/-.
After the race, BRILLIANT LIGHT and POWER OF THOR were trotted and found to be sound, POWER OF THOR was observed to have lost its left fore shoe.
RACE NO.7(158) – THE CAPTAIN G. HALL TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 6
Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.1,000/- for weighing out late due to which his mount GEOGRAPHIQUE came late in the paddock.
GEOGRAPHIQUE (Neeraj Rawal, dr.4) jumped out slowly losing about a length at the start.
RACE NO.8(159) – THE FLYING BRAVE PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners - 13
Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been fined Rs.1,000/- for bringing his charge JETFIRE late in the paddock.
Trainer Shazaan Shah has been fined Rs.1,000/- for bringing his charge LION KING late in the paddock.
At the start, RED CARNATION (App. Mustakim Alam, dr.11) was observed to have lost its footings and stumbled.
Soon after the start, FLASH FORCE (H. M. Akshay) shifted in at the same time CIPHER (App. N. K. Ashish) shifted out and they made contact.
Passing the 800 metres, NEXT STOP THE MOON (H. Zeeshan) shifted in at the same time RED CARNATION (App. Mustakim Alam) leaned outwards as a result RED CARNATION clipped the heels of NEXT STOP THE MON and stumbled thereby unbalancing its rider who lost his stirrup in the process due to this incident LAGERTHA (App. Haridas Gore) & BEEMER (App. P. Vinod) were inconvenienced and had to be steadied. After the race, on questioning Jockey H. Zeeshan stated that his mount hung in throughout the race, not being satisfied with his explanation. As such Jockey H. Zeeshan has been cautioned.
Approaching the 400 metres, NEXT STOP THE MOON (H. Zeeshan) overreached and thereby clipping the heels of ARABIAN PHOENIX (App. A. Prakash) and stumbled thereby dislodging its rider due to this incident MAGIC IN THE WIND (S. J. Sunil) and BEEMER (App. P. Vinod) had to be steadied. Further, RED CARNATION (App. Mustakim Alam) shied outwards thereby dislodging its rider. Thereafter on 11th April 2022, Jockey H. Zeeshan and Apprentice Mustakim Alam were called and questioned in regard to the above interferences and the replay was viewed from all angles and it was observed that Jockey H. Zeeshan had put his head down and kept pushing thus clipping the front runner thereby dislodging him, this kind of riding of Jockey H. Zeeshan could be dangerous to the other horses as such it was decided to suspend his Jockeys licence for 1 race day i.e. on first day of Pune Meeting 2022 date of which will be intimated in due course (permitted to ride work/mock race) for dangerous riding.
After race, Sr. V. O. reported that the left shoulder of NEXT STOP THE MOON was broken, there was harmatome. Thereafter, the Sr. V.O. reported that the gelding was euthanized on humanitarian grounds.
After the race, ARABIAN PHOENIX was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.
After the race, ARABIAN PHOENIX had a cut injury on right hind cannon.
After the race, RED CARNATION was trotted and found to be sound but had a cut injury on left fore cannon and right fore pastern.

The urine samples of the winner of the 2nd & 4th race, viz. JOAQUIN & HOOVES OF THUNDER, and the special samples of ARABIAN PHOENIX (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
