RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1400 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES, 7 METRES AWAY AT 800 METRES AND THEREAFTER 9 METRES AWAY UPTO THE WINNING POST.

 

FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1800 METRES TO 1200 METRES AND 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

RACE NO.1(143) – THE ARISTOS PLATE  - DIVISION I: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  12

 

Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been fined Rs.1,000/- for mounting Jockey P. S. Chouhan late on his charge STARS FOR YOU in the paddock.

 

After being stalled, PEPPER (Neeraj Rawal, dr.2) prematurely rushed and opened the front gates due to which the channel controlling the movement of the front gates was damaged as such all the horses were unloaded and the channel was repaired and the gates were tested accordingly and thereafter the horses were reloaded.

 

DRAGONESS (N. S. Parmar, dr.3) planted and lost considerable grounds at the start. In view of the same, Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, CHAMPERS ON ICE (App. A. Prakash, dr.8) jumped outwards and brushed the haunches of STARS FOR YOU (P. S. Chouhan, dr. 9).

 

At the start, HILMA KLINT (App. A. K. Aniket, dr.10) jumped outwards onto SPARKLING GLORY (D. R. Shubham, dr.11) who in turn shifted out and made contact with MARIELLA (S. Zervan, dr.12).

 

Passing the 400 metres, IMPERMANENCE (H. M. Akshay) was observed to have drifted out under pressure. Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

In the final stages of the race, IMPERMANENCE (H. M. Akshay) weakened and dropped back as a result causing SPARKLING GLORY (D. R. Shubham) to check and change course who was racing on its haunches thereby inconveniencing PEPPER (Neeraj Rawal).

 

After the race, App. A. Prakash reported that his mount CHAMPERS ON ICE hung out in the straight. Trainer Dallas Todywalla has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, Jockey P. S. Chouhan rider of STARS FOR YOU reported that the saddle on his mount had slipped during the race. This being first offence of faulty saddling during the current Mumbai Meeting 2021/22, Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, STARS FOR YOU found to be sore by the right fore. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, CHAMPERS ON ICE & IMPERMANENCE were trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(144) – THE KEJRIWAL TROPHY: (About) 2000 Metres – Runners -  6

 

After the race, KEY TO THE MINT found to be sore by the right fore. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, JUBILANT JOURNEY was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(145) FIELD MARSHAL SAM MANEKSHAW MEMORIAL TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  8

(THE SOUTHERN COMMAND GOLD TROPHY  - DIVISION II)

 

MAGNANIMOUS (Bhawani Singh, dr.5) jumped out slowly losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, WERONIKA (P. S. Chouhan, dr.3) lost its footings and stumbled as a result leaned inwards thereby starting a chain reaction due to which MIRAE (Dashrath Singh) shifted in onto GIMME (N. S. Parmar, dr.1) who had to be steadied.

 

Approaching the 150 metres, WERONIKA (P. S. Chouhan) shied inwards and brushed the railings.

 

After the race, Jockey Bhawani Singh reported that his mount MAGNANIMOUS was running green in the straight.

 

After the race, Jockey Dashrath Singh reported that his mount MIRAE hung out in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures, before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MIRAE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(146) – THE SOUTHERN COMMAND GOLD TROPHY  - DIVISION I: (About) 1000 Metres –Runners- 8

 

At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, LIGHTNING BLAZE was examined in the stable area at 10.30 a.m. on 1/4/2022 and was found to be sore from left fore, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

At the start, TYRONE BLACK (C. S. Jodha, dr. 2) jumped inwards and went across ATTAINED (R. Shelar, dr.1) who was marginally slow to begin.

 

After the race, MALACHITE was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(147) – THE K. M. MUNSHI TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres – Runners -  8

 

Soon after the start, QUEEN O’ WAR (N. S. Parmar) shifted in before the red marker thereby tightening and inconveniencing PRIDE’S ANGEL (C. S. Jodha) causing the latter to check and drop back and inconvenienced BIRKIN BLOWER (P. Trevor). As such, Jockey N. S. Parmar has been fined Rs.5,000/-.

 

Passing the 350 metres, PRIDE’S ANGEL (C. S. Jodha) was observed to have change course for no apparent reason. The Stipendiary Stewards will be looking into the same and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

In the final stages of the race, Jockey S. Zervan (RAMBLER) was observed to have lost his reins momentarily. Jockey S Zervan has been cautioned.

 

An objection was lodged by App. P. Vinod, the rider of SKY FALL (Placed Second) against NOTHING TO WORRY (Bhawani Singh, Placed First). The reason being, coming into me 100 metres from home and squeezing me thereby not giving me room to ride my horse when my horse was responding, I had to  check my mount at a crucial stages where my horse lost his stride and cost me the race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection and held Jockey Bhawani Singh guilty for careless riding.

 

After the race, QUEEN O’ WAR was observed to have broken a blood vessel second time during the current Mumbai Meeting 2021/22 and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of eight weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O., before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, RAMBLER, BIRKIN BLOWER & EXCELLENT GOLD were trotted and found to be sound.

 

DESERT FIRE was trotted at the stable area on 4/4/22 and was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.6(148) – THE AMATEUR RIDERS' CLUB TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres – Runners - 9

 

Jockey S Zervan has been fined Rs.1,000/- for weighing out late due to which his mount SUPERLEGGERA came late in the paddock.

 

Trainer Imtiaz A. Sait has been fined Rs.1,000/- for bringing his charge REMUS late in the paddock.

 

At the start, RAFFAELLO (App. A. Prakash, dr.9) jumped inwards and bumped SUPERLEGGERA (S. Zervan, dr.8) thereafter further shifted in and made contact with ALASTAIR (P. S. Chouhan) who in turn shifted in and bumped REMUS (Antony Raj S.), in view of the incident SUPERLEGGERA had to check and drop back. After questioning App. A. Prakash and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

In the final stages of the race, SUPERLEGGERA (S. Zervan) shifted in onto ALASTAIR (P. S. Chouhan) who inturn shifted in onto RAFFAELLO (App. A. Prakash) who was tightened and inconvenienced. After questioning all concerned and not being satisfied with the explanation of Jockey S. Zervan, his Jockey’s licence has been suspended for two race days i.e. w.e.f. Sunday, 24th April 2022. Thereafter, should he apply for a Jockey’s licence for the Season 2022/23 and if the same is granted to him, kindly note that his licence shall stand suspended on first day of Pune Meeting 2022 date of which will be intimated in due course (both days inclusive) (permitted to ride work/mock race) for careless riding.

 

After the race, Jockey D. R. Shubham rider of DIVINE HUNT reported the loss of whip near 400 metres. This being the first instance during the current Mumbai Meeting 2021/22, no action has been initiated.

 

After the race, DIVINE HUNT was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.7(149) – THE A. C. ARDESHIR TROPHY (GRADE 3): (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  6

 

Trainer P. Shroff has been fined Rs.2,000/- for bringing his charge PRESIDENTIAL and NORTHERN LIGHTS late in the paddock.

 

VICTORIOUS SERMON (C. S. Jodha, dr.2) & PRESIDENTIAL (P. S. Chouhan, dr.6) jumped out slowly losing about a length each at the start

 

Approaching the 400 metres, GIANT STAR (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out at the same time PRESIDENTIAL (P. S. Chouhan) leaned inwards and they were observed to have jostled.

 

RACE NO.8(150) – THE ARISTOS PLATE  - DIVISION II: (About) 1000 Metres – Runners -  12

 

Trainer Faisal A. Abbas has been fined Rs.2,000/- for bringing his charge KARDASHIAN and DOWSABEL late in the paddock, when all  the horses were left for the starting gate.

 

At the start, DOWSABEL (App. N. K. Ashish, dr.11) jumped outwards onto RECIPROCITY (R. Shelar, dr.12) and made contact.

 

At the start, TAIL EVENT (App. A. S. Peter, dr.3) jumped outwards at the same time FETE ACCOMPLI (App. A. Prakash, dr.6) jumped inwards due to which CARLOS (H. Zeeshan, dr.5) and ZACAPA (Dashrath Singh, dr.4) drawn between them were tightened.

 

Approaching the 800 metres, TAIL EVENT (App. A. S. Peter) shifted in and went across DAULAT MAI (Akash Agarwal) causing the latter to check and change course. As such, App. A. S. Peter has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, Jockey N. S. Parmar rider of LIT reported that the saddle on his mount had slipped during the race. This being first offence of faulty saddling during the current Mumbai Meeting 2021/22, Trainer M. K. Jadhav has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, MOMENT OF MADNESS was trotted and found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(151) – THE W. BUCKLEY PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – Runners -  13

 

At the start, VIKRAMADITYA (Antony Raj S., dr.3) jumped outwards onto AURELE (M. Ayyar, dr.4) who in turn shifted out and went across SONG SONG BLUE (App. A. S. Peter, dr.5) who was slow to begin.

 

Passing the 400 metres, TOUSSAINT (App. A. Prakash) shifted out at the same time ANOUSHKA (T. S. Jodha) leaned inwards and made contact.

 

Passing the 600 metres, HELA (Bhawani Singh) shifted in thereby tightening FIFTY GRAND (H. Zeeshan) along the rails causing the latter to check and drop back. After questioning Jockey Bhawani Singh and not being satisfied with his explanation, he has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

After the race, HELA was trotted and found to be sound.
