Irish Thoroughbred Marketing & Goffs RWITC Gold Cup (Gr.2) will be a Grand Race
By Bob Sawhny

Pune: Seven well-bred thoroughbreds have accepted to run in The 2000M Irish Thoroughbred Marketing & Goffs RWITC Gold Cup (Gr.2). This prestigious Terms race is for horses 4YO & over. The winner of this eminent race is likely to emanate from the duo of the 4YO colt Agostini (Burden of Proof – Glorious Beauty) trained by S. S. Attaolahi or the 4YO Filly Circle of Bliss (Singspiel-Dubai Spirit).trained by P. Shroff. Given below are the Duo’s Racing Career Record, Pedigree, good Track-work & other relevant factors, if any and ending with My Final Analysis:

AGOSTINI (Burden of Proof-Glorious Beauty)

Agostini is the stylish decisive winner of The 2400M Bangalore Derby (Gr.1) on 26/1/2014 ridden by the French Jockey Louis Beuzelin. He won as the 7 to 2 favorite by 1-1/4L from Czar Of Romance in a time of 2M-33.27s. & earned Winners Stake Money of an amount of Rs.63,12,000. In the race, Agostini was always a forward runner who hit the front at about the 400M and then built up a good lead to emerge victorious by 1-1/4L.

Agostini’s Career recordshows that he is the winner of 5 races, has come 2nd- Four Times, has finished 3rd –thrice & has come 4th -once from 18 outings. Hiswinswere (1) On 9/3/2013 his maiden victory over 1400M (2) On 26/5/2013 won a race for HR 40 -65 over 1400M (3) On 22/11/2013 won a race for H 40-65 over 1600M (4) On 3/1/2014 won The 2000M Chief Minister’s Trophy & (5) on 26/1/2014 won The 2400M Bangalore Derby (Gr1).

He has an impeccable pedigree as his ‘Sire’ Burden Of Proof (Fairy King-Belle Passe) won 12 races at 2 to 7 (6 to8fur) 204,024 Pounds incl. Budweiser World Cup International Stakes (Gr.2), Juddmonte Beresford Stakes (Gr.3), Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes (Gr.3), Ragusa Stud Minstrel Stakes (Gr.3) and placed. He has done very well as a Sire and has sired many black-type performers and Several Classy horses. And Agostini’s ‘Dam’ Glorious Beauty (Razeen - Slickchic) won 1 race Rs2, 09,850 and placed 2nd in M. H. Ahmedbhoy Trophy. Glorious Beauty’s Dam Slickchic won 2 races Rs.60, 000 and placed. Slickchick was The Dam of 10 Winners: Pertigalete:7 wins, Rs24, 10,687 incl. Breeders Juvenile Colts championship, Dashmesh And Hargobind Studs Cup & placed 4th in PBM (Gr.1).Capture The Moment: 4 wins, Rs.13, 90,857 Sir Onslaught: 5 wins Rs10, 26, 000  All Heart: 3 wins Rs.3, 95,300 Mission Impossible: 5 winsRs5, 98,638  Prince Obolensky: 5 winsRs6, 68,968 Miracle Maker: 5 winsRs4, 11, 454 Tudor King:2 wins Rs.3,66,600 other winners: Spirited Move& Glorious Beauty-above. Plus, Agostini’s ‘Dam’s Tail-Line’ is a strong one as it goes down to the likes of- Fine’st, who did not race, but was the dam of some excellent winners viz. Archimedes 7 wins, Kir Royale 5 wins, Vehemance 7 wins, Stone Ridge 2 wins, Swift Romance 2 wins, Slickchick (above).Furthermore, Agostini’s ‘Dam’s Tail-Line’ includes Fine Array (GB) who won 2 races in Italy at 3 incl. Premio Royal Mares (Gr.3) and placed 6 times & was the dam of 2 good winners viz. Quintana 7 wins, Arrow 4 wins and Fine’st (above).

My Final Analysis: Agostini, the winner of The 2400M Bangalore Derby (Gr.1) on 26/1/2014 is an exquisitely bred colt. His last run was on 7/9/2014 at Hyderabad where he finished a good 2nd to Alaindair in The 2400M President Of India Gold Cup (Gr.1). He has been working well in Pune and on 13/10/2014 Agostini performed superbly in a Mock Race over 1600M and stylishly did the trip in 1-40 (-20), 600 in 35 (10) easily beating the rest of the runners which shows that he is very fit. But, now the Terms of this race are totally in favor of his arch rival - Circle of Bliss.

CIRCLE OF BLISS (Singspiel – Dubai Spirit)

She is a well bred 4yo filly, who has a career record of being a very consistent performer against top class opposition. She has run 11 races and although, she has only won Two races (1) On 25/8/2013 over 1600M as a maiden and (2) On 31/8/2014(Pune) The 1800M Threptin Fillies and Mares’ Stakes (Gr.3) by 9-12L beating inferior rivals but, she has on Six occasions finished 2nd & run third -twice. And it must be noted that Circle of Bliss has run well in all the Indian Classic Races, because on 15/12/2013 she ran a good 2nd to Mariinsky in The Indian 1000 Guineas (Gr.1), on 18/12014 she ran 2nd to Isn’t She Special in The Indian Oaks (Gr.1) and on 2/2/2014 she finished a good 3rd to Alaindair and Starry Eyes in The Indian Derby (Gr.1). Subsequently, on 8/3/2014 she ran a fairly good 5th to Alaindair in The Indian Turf Invitation Cup (Gr.1) at Hyderabad. Then, in Pune on 15/8/2014 in The 2000M Eve Champion Trophy (Gr.3) in which, she ran as the favorite but unluckily finished 1/2 a length, 2nd to - To The Manor Born, because she was running after a long gap, of over six months. Then on 31/8/2014 in Pune she won running away from her rivals in The 1800M Threptin Fillies & Mares’ Stakes (Gr.3).Then, in her last run on 13/9/2014 she finished 2nd to the extremely classy filly Amazing Grace in The 2400M Idar Gold Trophy (Gr.3) and Amazing Grace, is by far the best thoroughbred in the Indian Turf over distance trips. Now, Circle Of Bliss is running The 2000M Irish Thoroughbred Marketing & Goffs R. W .I .T .C .Gold Cup (Grade 2) a Terms race for Horses 4YO & O has been working well and she is very fit and has the best credentials to win this race.

Pondering, over her pedigree, her superb Sire ‘Singspiel’ is the winner of 9 races viz., (1) A maiden race at 2 in Chester (England)- 7 furlongs (2) At 3 in England - O&K Troy S.- 1 1/2 Miles (3) At 4 in N. America- Canadian Int. S. -1 1/2 Miles (4) At 4  The 2400M Japan Cup (Jpn-1) (5) At 4 in Eng-III Westminster Taxi Insurance S.-1 1/4M (6) At 4 in Eng-III T.G.I. Friday Gordon Richard S. (7) At 5 in En-I Juddmonte Intern. S. (8) At 5 in Eng-I Vodafone Coronation Cup S.-1 1/2 miles (9) At 5 in UAE- The 2000M Dubai World Cup Total Stakes Earned almost $ 6,000,000. Her Dam ‘Dubai Spirit’ is by MT. Livermore out of Phantom Creek who won a couple of races. But, her dam’s tail-line is a strong one, as it goes down to  likes of Native Partner, who had as many as 11 good wins and 8 places, with a superb Career Earnings of almost $1, 40, 000.

My Final Analysis: The Well-bred Circle Of Bliss who has been working admirably is raring to go, and has the best credentials in this race and comes in very well by the terms of this race. Accordingly, it will take an exceptionally Good Horse to beat her, and if she gets beat, it will only be by the 4YO Colt Agostini. But the filly Circle of Bliss at the feather Weight, Looks – A Very Good Winner.
