PUNE MEETING 2015, SPECIAL RACE DAY, SUNDAY, 23RD AUGUST, 2015.

RACE DAY REPORTS

RAILS WERE PLACED 7 METRES AWAY FROM THE ORIGINAL POINT FROM 2000 METRES TO 1100 METRES AND THEREAFTER 5 METRES WIDE TILL THE WINNING POST. RAILS WERE ALSO PLACED 2 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES (CHUTE) TO 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer D.J.Surti, permission was granted to Trainer Vijay Kasbekar to saddle his charge LAS SALINAS in the 2nd race, at his (Trainer D.J.Surti’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(76) – THE TIMELESS BEAUTY PLATE: (About) 1600 Metres – 7 Runners

 

SIR SONG (P.Trevor dr.6) jumped out awkwardly angling outwards and made contact with AMAYA (C.S.Jodha, dr.7).  Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the colt.

 

App.S.J.Sunil (SECRET FLAME) reported that his mount hung-in in the straight.  The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the filly and he reported that SECRET FLAME was found to be sound but having wolf tooth on either side. Also, the filly had a gum injury. Tr.Narendra Lagad has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

 

RACE NO.2(77) – THE WAR COMMAND PLATE (DIV.II): (About) 1000 Metres – 15 Runners

 

ROCK THE TURF (J.Chinoy) lost about 3 lengths at the start. 

 

THERE SHE GOES (App.D.M.Ayyar) lost about 4 lengths at the start. Since the filly had behaved in a similar manner in her previous run, Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measures and to show the filly to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting with her to race. 

 

App. G. Amit (MOROCCAN) reported that his mount hung in marginally near 600 metres and went onto SILLY DUDE (App. S. J. Sunil), who in turn went on to THERE SHE GOES (App. D. M. Ayyar). Trainer Nirad Karanjawala has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

Approaching 400 metres VENI VEDI VICI (Vikram Jodha) maintained an erratic course and went in on to QUATRO (J.E.Pereira) who was inconvenienced. Jockey Vikram Jodha has been cautioned. 

 

Jockey Amyn Merchant (BELLA TRAVIATA) was questioned in connection with the handling of his mount in the last 100 metres. He stated that as soon as he used the whip on the left his mount shifted in. Trainer S.Waheed has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.  

 

After the race, PRESIDENT was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, ROCK THE TURF, ALFREDO, FLYING ELEPHANT and MOROCCAN (examined at the stables) were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(78) – THE  MAYOR’S TROPHY: (Abo ut) 1800 Metres – 8 Runners

 

ROYAL SEAL (Neeraj Rawal) was observed to shift in approaching the 1600 metres thereby causing interference to TOP CAT (P.Trevor) who was racing on his inside. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been cautioned.

 

Passing 1600 metres DANCING PRETTY (S.Zervan) shifted in marginally, inconveniencing VELVET AMARI (App.Yash Narredu).

 

Trainer B.Prakash and Jockey P.Trevor were questioned regarding the poor performance of TOP CAT. Jockey P.Trevor stated that the horse did not respond to his urgings at any stage of the race. Trainer B. Prakash stated that the horse’s previous run was suggestive, however, he has run an unexpectedly poor race this time. He added that the horse is temperamental and does not work on the track due to which he has only worked him on the treadmill. Their explanations were noted.

 

After the race, VELVET AMARI was found to be sound. The Sr.V.O. reported that at the request of the Trainer, VELVET AMARI was scoped at the Equine Hospital and found to be EIPH (Gr.I).

 

After the race, TOP CAT was found to be sound, but having a cut injury above the right hock.

 

RACE NO.4(79) – THE DR. K VASUDEVAN TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres – 11 Runners

 

MINE FOREVER  (P.Trevor) was observed to have lost its footing at the jump and almost came down, as a result Jockey P.Trevor was unbalanced and lost his stirrup which he could not regain until passing 700 metres.

 

Passing the 700 metres, INCENTIO (J.Chinoy), GANGNAM STYLE (N.S.Parmar) and JIMBO (App.S.J.Sunil) were observed to have jostled due to a tightly packed field.

 

Jockey S.G.Prasad (BRAVE VISION, dr.4) reported that his mount jumped out awkwardly angling outwards and made contact with INCENTIO (J. Chinoy, dr.5).

 

After the race, GANGNAM STYLE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, POLISHED CHROME was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind coronet. DEEP DIVER was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(80) – THE  F.D.WADIA TROPHY (GR.3): (About) 1400 Metres – 7 Runners

 

MAGNIFICENCE (N.S.Parmar, dr.4) shifted out soon after the start and went on to JEANNINE (C.S.Jodha, dr.5) who had to check his mount and dropped back. Jockey N.S.Parmar has been cautioned.

 

Passing 400 metres, AVANT GARDE (Neeraj Rawal) shifted out and tightened COLOMBIANA (App Yash Narredu) who was racing on his outside. Thereafter, BOLD APPEAL (S. Zervan) shifted out on to AVANT GARDE (Neeraj Rawal) who was racing on his outside. On questioning, Jockey S. Zervan stated that his mount shifted out despite his best efforts. Trainer Karthik.G has been advised to take remedial measures with his charge BOLD APPEAL before next accepting with him to race.

 

An objection was lodged by App.Yash Narredu, rider of COLOMBIANA (Placed Second) against COSTA DEL SOL (P.Trevor, Placed First). The reason being, coming into the straight, COSTA DEL SOL (P.Trevor) came in sharply and took his ground and tightened him, due to which he had to check his mount. Thereafter, passing 200 metres, COSTA DEL SOL shifted out and cut across him, due to which he had to switch in, and this cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their own judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

 

Approaching the 300 metres, MAGNIFICENCE (N.S.Parmar) was observed to shift in thereby inconveniencing JEANNINE(C.S.Jodha).

 

CONFIANCE (P.Kamlesh) was placed fifth and MAGNIFICENCE (N.S.Parmar) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.

 

 RACE NO.6(81) – THE ANTONIOS DOUBLE STAKES: (About) 1400 Metres – 13 Runners

 

STRATEGIC MOVE (S.Zervan dr.9) jumped out leaning inwards and made contact with DRACO (App.Santosh.G, dr.8), who in turn went on to LA TONNARELLA (P.Trevor, dr.7). Trainer Karthik.G has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

PRESENCE (S.G.Prasad, dr.10) was observed to shift in soon after the start thereby tightening STRATEGIC MOVE (S.Zervan), who in turn went on to DRACO (App.Santosh.G), as a result Jockey C.S.Jodha (RASHUN) had to check his mount and dropped back. Jockey S.G.Prasad has been cautioned

 

At the 400 metres BEACH GAME (Ishwar Pardeshi) shifted in and RASHUN (C.S.Jodha) shifted out, as a result Jockey Amyn Merchant (BROWN DYNAMITE) had to check his mount and dropped back. Jockeys Ishwar Pardeshi and C.S.Jodha have been cautioned.

 

Passing the 400 metres, DANCING LORD (Neeraj Rawal) was observed to have brushed the rails due to a tightly packed field.

 

Approaching the 200 metres,  STRATEGIC MOVE (S.Zervan) was observed to shift in thereby tightening TOOFAN (N.S.Parmar) who had to drop back. Jockey S.Zervan has been cautioned.

 

PRESENCE (S.G.Prasad) hung-in in the straight. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

RACE NO.7(82) – THE STAR WISH PLATE: (About) 1200 Metres – 13 Runners

 

JORDANA (J.Chinoy) lost about 3 lengths at the start.

 

After the race, BIRKENHEAD was observed to have a cut injury at the left fore bulb of heel.

 

RACE NO.8(83) – THE WAR COMMAND PLATE (DIV.I): (About) 1000 Metres – 13 Runners

 

At the request of Trainer P.Shroff, ABIGAIL was examined at 0830 hours on 23/08/2015 and was found to have a painful swelling at the Girth / Brisket region. As such, ABIGAIL was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The Trainer is required to obtain a Fitness Certificate for the filly from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After being stalled, FEW DOLLARS MORE (P.Kamlesh) reared up and fell backwards on to the rear gates dislodging the rider who was hurt. The rear gates were opened and the filly had an awkward slip under the gates. She was taken out and withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s Order. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

SEACAUCUS (App.S.A.Amit, dr.9) shifted out soon after the start and inconvenienced TERRIFIC (J.E.Pereira, dr.10) who was racing on his outside. App.S.A.Amit has been cautioned.

 

WAY AHEAD (Amyn Merchant) veered-in in the last 150 metres. Trainer C.D.Katrak has been advised to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, WAY AHEAD was found to be sound.
