MUMBAI MEETING 2014/15, SPECIAL RACE DAY, SUNDAY,  19TH APRIL, 2015.

RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) TO 1200 METRES, 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES AND THEREAFTER 7 METRES AWAY UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 6 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

On a request from Trainer C.D.Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer Adil Dajee to saddle his charges GENEROUS LADY (1st race), SHIVALIK SKIES (3rd race), ELECKTRA KING & STARDOM CALLING (6th race), at his (Trainer C.D.Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

Permission was granted to Trainer Adhirajsingh Jodha to saddle the charges of Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha viz. WHITESOX & RAJPUTANA RIFLES in the 7th race at his (Trainer Magansingh P.Jodha’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(340) - THE  DADY ADENWALLA TROPHY (DIV.II): (About)1000 Metres.  Runners – 9

 

AIZAAN (App.Yash Narredu) jumped out awkwardly inwards and went on to MIZILLA GOLD (N.Rawal) and then threw its head and did not raise an effective gallop, losing considerable ground at the start. Trainer Damodaran D.Pillai has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

PARADISE (App.Bhawani Singh) ran green during the race.

 

RACE NO.2(341) – THE H.R.SHANTIDAS TROPHY: (About) 1800 Metres. Runners – 4

 

THE GENERAL (App.Yash Narredu) lugged-in in straight and tightened SNOWING (C S Jodha) approaching 400 metres until nearing 300 metres.  Trainer M.Narredu has been asked to take remedial measure before next accepting the race to the colt.

 

After the race, THE GENERAL was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(342) – THE RACING JOURNALISTS TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 10

 

At the start, COLEY (C.S.Jodha, dr.7) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to QUANDO QUANDO (J.Chinoy, dr.6).

 

Jockey Kavraj Singh (REPLICA) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, ALDERLEY EDGE was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.4(343) – THE TRACK CHARM PLATE: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 9

 

At the start ZAMBIAN (App.Yash Narredu, dr.6) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with MOUSSAEIF (App.R.Ajinkya, dr.5).

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (LANCELOT) reported the loss of his whip 100 metres from the winning post.  The Jockey explained that his whip got entangled with the rein and in his attempt to free it, he lost his whip. The Stipendiary Stewards will be enquiring into this incident and will submit a report shortly.

 

ZAMBIAN (App.Yash Narredu) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

 

After the race, FAST LADY, LANCELOT and ZAMBIAN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(344) – THE JIMMY BHARUCHA TROPHY:(About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 9

 

CAVALIA (Dashrath Singh) was reluctant to be stalled. Trainer C.Rajendra has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.

 

BRAHMACHARI (Darren Williams) and MULTINATIONAL (C.S.Jodha) lugged-out in the straight. Trainers Imtiaz A.Sait and Narendra Lagad have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge before next accepting to race them.

 

RACE NO.6(345) -THE  DADY ADENWALLA TROPHY (DIV.I):(About) 1000 Metres. Runners– 10

 

Trainer H.J.Antia has been fined Rs.1,000/- for declaring incorrect shoeing in respect of his charge THEN AND NOW wherein the Trainer informed after the Declaration that he had erroneously declared his charge to race with Aluminium instead of Aluminium, Hind Bare.

 

At the start, STARDOM CALLING (Amyn Merchant, dr.9) jumped awkwardly and as the filly regained her balance, she shifted in on to THEN AND NOW (A.Ashhad Asbar, dr.8) and then went out and at the same time CARIBBEAN LEGEND (P.Trevordr.10) began awkwardly and made contact with STARDOM CALLING, who in turn went on to THEN AND NOW (A.Ashhad Asbar).

 

Soon after the start, CARIBBEAN LEGEND (P.Trevor) shifted in and tightened STARDOM CALLING (Amyn Merchant). Jockey P Trevor has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Amyn Merchant (STARDOM CALLING) reported that his mount ran green during the race.

 

RACE NO.7(346) - THE FRISH CUP: (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners -11

 

On a request from Trainer Vinesh, the use of Pacifiers was permitted on his charge RAPID GIRL.

 

At the start, MASTERSTRIKE (App.Yash Narredu, dr.4) jumped awkwardly outwards and at the same time AMAZON CAT (R.Shelar, dr.5) jumped awkwardly inwards and made contact with each other. 

 

The Saddle on GREY MIST (P.Trevor) was observed to have slipped back during the race, as such, Trainer M.K.Jadhav has been fined Rs.2,000/-.

 

ROYAL ECLAIR (App.Bhawani Singh) lugged-out in the straight.  Trainer Subhag Singh has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting the race to the filly.

 

App.Yash Narredu (MASTERSTRIKE) reported that his mount was inclined to lug in during the race. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting the race to the gelding.

 

App.R.Ajinkya (SHOWN) reported that his mount shied away during the race and ran unsettled. 

 

After the race, ROYAL ECLAIR and SHOWN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.8(347) -THE WEST COAST CUP (DIV.II):(About) 1200 Metres. Runners– 12

 

Jockey P.Trevor (LOGANO) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for Improper use of the whip wherein he has allowed his mount to drift out  in a final 300 metres under the use of the whip thereby aggravating the outward movement  of his mount, thereby losing ground.

 

After the race, NATIONAL GOLD, ASSANGE and SALTANATH were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.9(348) - THE WEST COAST CUP (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners -12

 

BLUE FLAME (A.Ashhad Asbar) jumped out slow, losing about 3 lengths at the start.

 

At the start, CROWNED PRINCES (S.K.Jadhav, dr.9) jumped awkwardly outwards and went on to FRIBOURG (P.Trevor, dr.10). 

 

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (BLUE FLAME) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer H.J.Antia has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting the race to the filly.

 

After the race, NICANOR was observed to have broken a blood vessel. Also, the mare had returned sore by the right fore leg. NICANOR is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks and has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, STORMYDAY was found to be sore by the left fore leg. Also, the gelding had lost its right hind plate. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, JEWEL and OCEAN STAR were found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 6th, 7th and 8th race,  viz. INDIAN SERENADE, JEANNINE, NIOBRARA, WHITESOX and LOGANO, and the special sample of GREY MIST (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : APPEAL FROM JOCKEY I.PASHA AGAINST THE DECISION OF THE STEWARDS OF THE CLUB IN RESPECT OF SUSPENSION OF HIS JOCKEY’S LICENSE W.E.F. 19TH APRIL, 2015 TO 26TH APRIL, 2015  (BOTH DAYS INCLUSIVE) AND THEREAFTER SHOULD HE APPLY FOR A LICENSE FOR THE SEASON 2015/16, IT WILL BE GRANTED TO HIM, HOWEVER, HIS LICENCE SHALL STAND SUSPENDED W.E.F. 23RD JULY, 2015 TO 22ND AUGUST, 2015 FOR UNSATISFACTORY RIDING ON HIS MOUNT “BALCHANDRA” IN RACE NO.284 – THE SIMPLY GORGEOUS PLATE RUN ON 26TH MARCH, 2015 :

 

The Board of Appeal at its meeting held on 19th April 2015, considered the appeal from Jockey I.Pasha in the above connection.

 

The Board of Appeal considered all documents and papers that were submitted including his grounds of appeal, heard the submissions made by the Stipendiary Stewards, Jockey I.Pasha / his Spokesman, Mr.Narendra Lagad and Trainer Asad Siddiqui and viewed the video tape recording of the race in question as also other concerned races. The Board of Appeal deliberated on the matter at length and having applied their minds felt that it was not unsatisfactory riding on his part. In view of this, the Board of Appeal decided, by majority, to allow his appeal and refund the deposit.
