MUMBAI MEETING 2014/15, SPECIAL RACE DAY, SUNDAY, 22ND MARCH, 2015.

RACE DAY REPORTS

 

RAILS WERE PLACED 3 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 3 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

 

On a request from Trainer C.D.Katrak, permission was granted to Trainer S.Waheed to saddle his charge SHIVALIK STORM in the 6th race, at his (Trainer C.D.Katrak’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Hosidar Daji, permission was granted to Trainer Nosher Cama to saddle his charges CASINO JACK (5th race), DIABLO (7th race) and TRENDING (8th race), at his (Trainer Hosidar Daji’s) risk and responsibility.

On a request from Trainer Aravind G, permission was granted to Trainer Karthik G, to saddle his charge NATIVE FORCE in the 3rd race, at his (Trainer Aravind G’’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(276) - THE  V.R.MENON PLATE: (About)1600 Metres.  Runners – 7

 

At the request of Trainer Rehaunllah Khan, RESILIENT  was examined at 1115 hours on 22/03/2015 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg. As such, the horse was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The horse has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race. 

 

At the start, IBIS (C.S.Jodha) jumped out awkwardly and then was steadied as SHOWN (Deep Shanker) jumped awkwardly inwards.

WORD OF HONOUR (App.Santosh G) lugged-in in the final stages of the race.  Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting the gelding to race.

 

After the race, ALETA was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

After the race, MESMERIC was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.2(277) – THE K.M.MUNSHI TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 7

 

RAVELLO (A.Sandesh) stumbled after the start.

 

Jockey A.Sandesh (RAVELLO) has been cautioned for shifting in before the Red marker and in the process going across the field on his inside.

App.Yash Narredu (JIMBO) was observed to have used the whip in excess of the prescribed limit.  This being his third offence during the current Mumbai Meeting, his Apprentice Jockey’s license has been suspended w.e.f. 11th April, 2015 to 12th April, 2015 (permitted to ride work / mock race).

 

After the race, BEFOREMEMORYFADES was found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.3(278) – THE ELUSIVE PIMPERNEL HANDICAP MILLION: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 7

 

An objection was lodged by Jockey Neeraj Rawal, rider of SHIVALIK VIEW (Placed Second) against EL CAMINO (P.Trevor, Placed First). The reason being, at about 200 metres, EL CAMINO rolled on to him and bumped his horse twice due to which his filly was unbalanced and since she was carrying top weight of 60.5 kg. she lost her momentum, which cost him a certain race.

 

After considering the submissions made by the Jockeys concerned, in conjunction with that of the Stipendiary Stewards  and relying on their judgment, the Stewards decided to over-rule the objection.

 

RACE NO.4(279) – THE ALMANAC DOUBLE STAKES: (About) 2000 Metres. Runners – 8

 

Jockey Shrikant Kamble (SAVAGE GARDEN) has been fined a sum of Rs.3,000/- using the whip in excess in the prescribed limit on his mount.

 

After the race, AZADEGAN and SAVAGE GARDEN were found to be sound.

 

RACE NO.5(280) – THE SWITCH MEDIA TROPHY (DIV.II):(About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 12

 

At the start, SEVEN SEAS (V.Chandrakant) lost its footing and began awkwardly.

 

Near 1000 metres, BROWN DYNAMITE (P.Trevor) shifted in, due to which QUEEN OF VENUS (S.G.Prasad) shifted in and tightened CON MAN (C.S.Jodha) who lost position. Jockey P.Trevor has been cautioned.

 

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (BELLA FIGURA) reported that his mount did not get a clear run in the early part of the straight.

 

Passing 300 metres, CON MAN (C.S.Jodha) and SHAUGHNESSY (D.K.Ashish) made contact with each other.

 

Jockey N.Rawal (ALECTAR) has been fined Rs.1,000/- for Improper use of the whip wherein he has persisted with the use of the whip as his mount was shifting out in the final 200 metres and in the process jostled with SHAUGNESSY (D.K. Ashish) and then cut across the latter.

 

Jockey C.S Jodha (CON MAN) has been cautioned for allowing his mount to shift out under the use of the whip in the final 200 metres.

Jockey S.G.Prasad (QUEEN OF VENUS) reported the loss of whip near 200 metres. .This being the second occasion of him losing the whip during the current Mumbai Meeting, he has been fined Rs 2,000/-.

 

An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of CON MAN and a report will be submitted shortly.

 

RACE NO.6(281) -THE  R.M. & RUKMANI GOCULDAS MILLION:(About) 1400 Metres. Runners– 8

 

Jockeys A.Sandesh (DANCING PRANCES) and P.Trevor (YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY) have been cautioned for allowing their respective mount to shift out under the use of the whip in the final 200 metres.

 

RACE NO.7(282) - THE FORBES INDIA TROPHY: (About) 1200 Metres.  Runners -7

 

After the race, CHRISTMAS EVE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated ban period of four weeks. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

 

It was observed on the C.C.T.V. that Jockey A.Sandesh, after dismounting from his mount CHRISTMAS EVE on the track, gave his saddle to a syce to carry the same back to the Weighing Room. As per the rules the Jockey  should have carried  his  own saddle to the scale. As such, Jockey A.Sandesh has been fined Rs.3,000/-.

 

RACE NO.8(283) - THE SWITCH MEDIA TROPHY (DIV.I):(About) 1400 Metres.  Runners -12

 

At the start, STAYING ALIVE (J.Chinoy) jumped awkwardly outwards. TARGETMASTER (Dashrath Singh, dr.9) was hampered as DHANYAVAAD (I.Pasha, dr.8) jumped awkwardly outwards. 

 

Jockey Malcolm Kharadi (TRENDING) reported that his mount did not travel well during the race.

 

PRETTY HOT (Neeraj Rawal) was inclined to lug out in the straight. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.

 

After the race, TRENDING was found to be sound.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 3rd, 5TH and 6th race,  viz. LHOTSE, EL CAMINO, BROWN DYNAMITE, DANCING PRANCES & YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY, and the special sample of CHRISTMAS EVE (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
