RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED AT THE ORIGINAL POINT
On a request from Trainer Janardhan, permission was granted to Trainer Vinesh to saddle his charge FIBONACCI SEQUENCE in the 5th race, at his (Trainer Janardhan’s) risk and responsibility.

RACE NO.1(220) - THE MYSORE RACE CLUB MILLION: (About)1200 Metres. Runners – 8
After being stalled, ALISHAS PET (App.Yash Narredu) played up in the stall. The filly was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sound but having a minor upper gum injury, hence the filly was allowed to race. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
Trainer C D Katrak has been fined Rs.1,000/- for taking his horse KIND DEED away from the parade ring, before the all clear was given.
At the start, ITSCARO (P.Trevor) leaned inwards and went on to HIDDEN SOUL (P.S. Chouhan) who in turn went across KIND DEED (Neeraj Rawal). Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
After the race, ALISHAS PET was found to be sound.
ANVILL STAR (App.Bhawani Singh) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.2(221) – THE DELHI RACE CLUB MILLION: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners – 9
Soon on entering the straight, WILD TEMPTATION (Kavraj Singh) was held up for a run due to insufficient room between MOVE IN TIME (S.G.Prasad) on the outside and AD ASTRA (P Trevor) on the inside.
Afte the race, WILD TEMPATION was found to be sound.
RACE NO.3(222) – THE JAPAN CUP: (About) 1800 Metres. Runners – 9
At the request of Trainer Sanjay Kolse, FIREPROOF was examined at 1115 hours on 27/02/2015 and was found to be sore by the left fore leg. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
PAPPILLON (P.S.Chouhan) lost about 2 lengths at the start.
SHIVALIK VIEW (C.S.Jodha) lugged-in in the straight and in the conclusion stage of the race inconvenienced SHINING PATH (Imran Chisty). Trainer Bezan Chenoy has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
RACE NO.4(223) -THE ATTILA SPRINTERS’ CUP (GR.1): (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 13
At the request of Trainer Prasanna Kumar P, WHISPERING GALLERY was examined at 0835 hours on 28/02/2015 and was found to be sore by the right hind leg. As such, the mare was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After being stalled, UN UN UN (A.M.Tograllu) reared up and fell awkwardly in the gate. The gelding was taken out and examined by the Club’s V.O. and observed to have suffered bruise marks on the right stifle and right hind cannon. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds. Trainer R.H.Sequeira has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race. Also, the Trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
Jockey D.K.Ashish (SOLOMON, dr.14) has been fined Rs.2,000/- for shifting in before the red marker and continued to do so even after that.
BRYNHILL (Imran Chisty, dr.15) was observed to shift in soon after the start. The explanation of the Jockey that he found it difficult to get a proper hold of the reins due to the rains and therefore the gelding had shifted in was noted.
Jockey A.Sandesh has been fined 2,000/- for improper use of the whip wherein he had used the whip with excessive intensity.

After the race, BRYNHILL was observed to have a cut injury at the right hind pastern.
INVINCIBLE PRINCE (David Allan) was placed fifth and SMILE STONE (Beuzelin Louis) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.5(224) - THE MADRAS RACE CLUB MILLION: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners -9
After the race, SIMPLY SWEET was found to be sound.

In view of the unexpected rains which, in the opinion of the Jockeys, rendered the Race Track unsafe for racing, a Stewards’ meeting was held after the conclusion of the 5th race and after having considered the matter, it was decided to postpone the remaining two races viz. Race No.225 -THE DELTIN CASINOS STAYERS' CUP (GRADE 1) (About) 3000 Metres and Race No.226 - THE OMKAR 1973 WORLI MILLION (About) 1000 Metres.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th race, viz. ETERNAL FLAME, SHARP WITTED, SHIVALIK SHOWERS, SOLOMON and STARISTOCRAT, as also that of BRYNHILL, DANCING PRANCES & MAXIMUS (4th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

RE : RACE NO.226 – THE OMKAR 1973 WORLI MILLION WHICH WAS SCHEDULED TO BE RUN ON 28/2/15 BUT SUBSEQUENTLY POSTPONED:
At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, BEAU ROYALE was examined at 0740 hours on 28/02/2015 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg as such the gelding was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit to race by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “MAISHA” IN RACE NO 162 – THE BLACK DOG TROPHY RUN ON 31ST JANUARY, 2015 – TRAINER P.SHROFF & JOCKEY D.K.ASHISH :
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 8th February, 2015 having interviewed Trainer P.Shroff and Jockey D.K.Ashish in the above connection had adjourned the hearing.
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on 22nd February, 2015 considered note from the Stipendiary Stewards on further questioning of Trainer P.Shroff and having deliberated the matter, were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey D.K.Ashish and decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 12th March, 2015 to 15th March, 2015 (both days inclusive) for incompetent riding on MAISHA (permitted to ride work/mock race).
