RACE DAY REPORTS
RAILS WERE PLACED 5 METRES AWAY FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1600 METRES (MILE CHUTE) UP TO THE WINNING POST. FOR THE RACES STARTING FROM THE BACK STRETCH, RAILS WERE PLACED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POINT FROM 1200 METRES LEADING TO 5 METRES AWAY AT 1000 METRES.

RACE NO.1(210) - THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB TROPHY (DIV.II): (About)1200 Metres. Runners – 10
At the start, KATNISS (Kishore Kadam, dr.5) jumped awkwardly inwards and went on to MIRACLE OF MERCY (Shrikant Kamble, dr.4) who went on to SECRET OATH (C.S.Jodha, dr.3), who in turn went on to ROCK THE TURF (Dashrath Singh, dr.2) who was tightened as FAJR (S.P.Ranjane, dr.1) also jumped awkwardly outwards.
ROCK THE TURF (Dashrath Singh) lugged-in in the straight and near 200 metres inconvenienced SECRET OATH (C.S. Jodha). Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the mare.
KATNISS (Kishore Kadam) raced keen in the early part of the race and as the mare was being settled, shifted out on to GOLD STREAK (S.G. Prasad) who made contact with DONATA (Neeraj Rawal).
Jockey Shrikant Kamble (MIRACLE OF MERCY) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
After the race, GOLDEN WAVE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After the race, GOLD STREAK was found to be sound.
RACE NO.2(211) – THE SATINELLO TROPHY (DIV.I): (About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 10
ALIBOXER (C.S. Jodha) and IMPERIAL PRINCESS (Imran Chisty) hung-out in the straight and finished the race along outer rails. Trainers Sanjay Kolse and Altaf Hussain have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.
Near 300 metres, CARMA (A Sandesh) who ran green, carried GRAND VITESSE ( A Ashhad Asbar) inwards who was later ridden in check due to lack of room till about 200 metres. The Sr.V.O. was requested to examine the CARMA and he reported that the filly was found to be sound, but having a wolf tooth on the right side. Trainer Imtiaz A.Sait has been asked to take remedial measures.
When questioned, Jockey Imran Chisty (IMPERIAL PRINCESS) informed that his mount hung out badly and being aware that there was a horse on his outside, he had eased up his mount in the concluding stages of the race so as not to interfere with that horse. Whilst accepting the explanation of the Jockey, he has been cautioned not to ease up his mount prematurely. Trainer Altaf Hussain has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
RACE NO.3(212) – THE SERUM INSTITUTE OF INDIA TROPHY: (About) 1000 Metres. Runners – 6
SAINTS N SINNERS (App.R.Ajinkya) was reluctant to reach the starting point. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures.
Soon after the start, DOC HOLLIDAY (Kishore Kadam, dr.6) shifted in and went on to IN THE LIMELIGHT (App S.J. Sunil, dr.5) who in turn tightened JIMBO (A.Ashhad Asbar, dr.4) who lost position. Jockey Kishore Kadam has been fined Rs.2,000/-.
DOC HOLLIDAY (Kishore Kadam) leaned inwards in the straight. Trainer Rehanullah Khan has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the horse.
Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar (JIMBO) reported loss of whip near 200 metres. The Jockey explained that as he used his whip second time, it slipped out from his hand. The Stipendiary Stewards would be further looking into this incident and submit a report later.
Jockey Sandeep Jadhav (RAVELLO) reported loss of whip near 200 metres. The Jockey explained that his mount made contact with the railing and therefore he lost his whip.
After the race, MERCHANTOFVENICE was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.4(213) -THE RUSI PATEL TROPHY: (About) 1400 Metres. Runners – 7
Near100 metres ONE KEPT SECRET (A. Sandesh) shifted out and took running of MYKONOS (App Yash Narredu). Jockey A Sandesh has been cautioned.
RACE NO.5(214) - THE SIR VICTOR SASSOON GOLD TROPHY: (About) 1600 Metres. Runners -8
FRIBOURG (S.G.Prasad) jumped out slow losing about 4 lengths at the start. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and show him to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
App Yash Narredu (LEGEND OF THE SEAS) reported that his mount lugged-in in the straight. Trainer Narendra Lagad has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.
Jockey P. Trevor (MIDNIGHT DANCER) has been fined Rs.3,000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
Jockeys P.Trevor (MIDNIGHT DANCER) and S.Zervan (HIS HIGHNESS) have been cautioned for allowing their respective mount to shift out under the use of whip in the final stages of the race.
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of HIS HIGHNESS and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, LEGEND OF THE SEAS was found to be sound.
RACE NO.6(215) – THE SATINELLO TROPHY (DIV.II): (About) 1200 Metres. Runners -10
BULLDOZER (A.Sandesh) and TAP IT RICH (Dashrath Singh) were reluctant to be stalled. Trainers Faisal A.Abbas and Karthik G have been asked to give their respective charge more gate practice and show them to the satisfaction of the Starter at morning starting trials, before next accepting to race.
The bit on DIABLO (Malcolm Kharadi) slipped to the left side during the race.
DANCING LORD (D.K. Ashish ) and TAP IT RICH (Dashrath Singh) lugged-in in the straight. Trainers C. Rajendra and Karthik G have been asked to take remedial measures with their respective charge before next accepting to race them.
An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of BULLDOZER and running and riding of ANCIENT GLORY and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, CONFIANCE was observed to have a cut injury at the left hind coronet.
RACE NO.7(216) - THE INTERVALVE (INDIA) LTD TROPHY:(About) 2400 Metres. Runners – 6
After the race, DOUBLE OR QUITS was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The mare has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
RACE NO.8(217) -THE POONAWALLA BREEDERS’ MULTI-MILLION (GR.1):(About) 1400 Metres. Runners -12
At the request of Trainer Dallas Todywalla, PHOENIX TIGER was examined at 0810 hours on 22/02/2015 and was found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the colt was certified unfit to race and was withdrawn on Veterinary grounds. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.
After being stalled, MARINE ONE (Keanen G.Steyn) kept rearing up and hit the padded top bar of the stall. The gelding was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be bleeding from the left nostril. As such, MARINE ONE was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn on veterinary grounds. The gelding was taken to the Equine Hospital for further treatment. In view of this behaviour, the Starting Stall Certificate of MARINE ONE has been revoked. Also, the trainer is required to obtain a fitness certificate for the gelding from the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.
MULTITUDE (David Allan) was very reluctant to be stalled, as such, the Starting Stall Certificate of the colt has been revoked
Trainer Neil Darashah has been fined Rs.3,000/- for putting in late Declaration in respect of his charge MARINE ONE.
JARAMA (S.G. Rathod) hung-out in the straight. Trainer Mansoor Shah has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.
Jockey Suraj Narredu (COLOMBIANA) has been fined Rs.1000/- for using the whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount.
The Sr.V.O. reported that KYOTO was examined at the stables in the morning on 23/02/2015 and found to be sore by the right fore leg. The colt has been stopped from racing until passed fit by the Club’s V.O.
BOLD APPEAL (C.S.Jodha) was placed fifth and SHIVALIK HEROINE (App.Yash Narredu) was placed sixth by the Judge, in this race.
RACE NO.9(218) - THE DR.GOOLAM E VAHANVATI GOLD TROPHY:(About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 15
ETERNAL ROYALTY (S.Zervan) was restless in the stall. Since the gelding had behaved in a similar manner in its last run, its Starting Stall Certificate has been revoked.
At the start, ETERNAL ROYALTY (S Zervan) jumped awkwardly outwards.
An enquiry has been initiated into the poor performance of SATELLITE and a report will be submitted shortly.
After the race, PEPITO, SATELLITE and ANTARTICA ZONE were found to be sound.
RACE NO.10(219) - THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB TROPHY (DIV.I):(About) 1200 Metres. Runners – 10
Soon after the start, CON MAN (CS Jodha, dr.4) shied and went on to RESILIENT (App SJ Sunil, dr.3).
An enquiry has been initiated into the running and riding of ARSENAL and a report will be submitted shortly.

After the race, WITHOUT FEAR was found to be sore by the left fore leg. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s VO before next accepting to race.

The post race urine sample of the winner of 1st, 2nd, 6th, 7th and 8th race, viz. ROCK THE TURF, IMPERIAL PRINCESS, DANCING LORD, ZAZOU and COSTA DEL SOL, as also that of COLOMBIANA, OXFORD OPINION & MULTITUDE (8th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.

ADDITIONAL REPORTS:
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “COSTA DEL SOL” IN RACE NO.165 – THE KUNIGAL STUD BREEDERS’ PRODUCE STAKES (GR.3) RUN ON 31ST JANUARY, 2015 – TRAINER P.SHROFF & JOCKEY COLM O’DONOGHUE :
The Stewards of the Club at their meeting held on Sunday, 22nd February, 2015 interviewed Trainer P.Shroff and Jockey Colm O’Donoghue in the above connection and having heard the submissions made and viewing the video of the race in question as also Race No.217 which the colt won, decided that no action was called for in the matter.
RE: ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “AUTHORITY” IN RACE NO.189 – THE F.K.VAKIL TROPHY RUN ON 12TH FEBRUARY, 2015:
Trainer P.Shroff and Jockey S.Zervan were questioned. After reviewing the race and considering that this was the first run of the horse, the Stipendiary Stewards decided to close the enquiry.
RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE POOR PERFORMANCE OF “POLYDENCES” IN RACE NO.173 RUN ON 1ST FEBRUARY, 2015:-
Trainer Mansoor Shah was questioned in the above connection. The Trainer stated that his instructions were to go to the front as she always does. When asked for his observation, he said that the filly likes to run freely and she may not have liked the jockey trying to slow her down after hitting the front. Also, the filly might not have liked the challenge received from YOUR ROYAL MAJESTY all the way on her outside.
On viewing the race, it was observed tha the Jockey has ridden out the horse fully in the straight and the horse was in the fighting line till the last furlong and finished approximately 5½ lengths from the winner. As such, the explanation was noted.
RE : ENQUIRY INTO THE RUNNING AND RIDING OF “ROUBLESHA” IN RACE NO.180 RUN ON 8TH FEBRUARY, 2015 :-
Trainer Asad Siddiqui and Jockey I. Pasha were questioned in the above connection. It was pointed out to the jockey that he had not made any effort to be in a good position and that in the straight he was extremely feeble wherein his right hand was not moving, his rein is tight and has not given any leverage to the rein to help the horse stretch out and gallop, thereby not giving the horse the best chance in the race.
The Jockey stated that he tried to sit in a good position and keep up with the field and has ridden out all the way and took the shortest way home.
The previous race of the ROUBLESHA was viewed where the same jockey rode him and his ride on DOUBLE DIAMOND where he won by a distance in spite of which he has still ridden out.
The trainer took no exception to the Jockey’s riding.
Not being satisfied by the explanations of both, the trainer & jockey, they have both been fined a sum of Rs.5000/- for unsatisfactory running and riding of ROUBLESHA since the Stipendiary Stewards felt that the Jockey only pretended to whip the horse in the straight, however, his hands were not moving
